​​@@CD23_06 I did this, then I made animist revolt spawn in Ryukyu, converted to animism, then held Cholula for about 5 months, which got me an event to switch to Nahuatl. You dont need to be shinto to get the sohei reform, I think, but I had it all the same.

@@majdavlk649 not really, They still had a senate but instead of voting in 2 consuls for a term by the senate. The emperor replaced this position permanently but with a lot more power. pretty much anything the Emperor wanted to do had to have the support of the senate.

@@majdavlk649 @majdavlk649 because the Roman republic was a representative republic made up of 600 people (it's around this number) hence why it was SPQR because of the Latin words for their political party. (Can't remember the words) However the Roman Empire was an absolute monarchy where all the power was controlled by the emperor. The only reason why the senate's support was needed by the emperor was because Rome was a massive empire that needed delegates and the support of local noblemen in the provinces to maintain stability and order.

I think they tinkered with personal unions this update. My first game as Ottomans in the new DLC I ended up having to save scum twice because first France PUed Castile and then Hungary PUed a large Bohemia.

I was confused by this as well but then I checked the requirements for the Iberian wedding and all it requires is that the rulers of Castile and Aragon be opposite genders. It doesn't check the government type or whether there is already a royal marriage. (This also causes the event to fire when a consort regent is in power in one of the countries)

Tested it, a good way to get merchant republic with trade ideas as Aragon. Peasant republic is simply to weak, the missing +1 mil per month, and the crazy general every 20 years interaction from nobility estate, is so depressing.

You do not need the Domination DLC for the peasant republic. It is part of the base game. Just did the related achievement.

you can delay the event to become a peasant republic by giving away a Catalan province. This way you can get your PUs and integrate them, get all the Catalan provinces back then the Sindicat event can fire. According to the EU4 wiki this event doesn't have a time out and should be able to fire at any point.
