also I must say I don’t make it to the stream when it’s live but having it available to watch is great and finding solid verbal this season has been amazing in general

Tangent: Josh Pate has shouted out the Solid Verbal recently as being an inspiration

I know, he’s had very nice things to say. One of these days we’ll connect with him

So Dan, you made your opinion quite clear that your both optimistic about Dan Lanning at Oregon and at the same time pessimistic about Lincoln Riley at USC. I ask, " You and who else?"
@solidverbal2 жыл бұрын
There’s a big difference between pessimism and “OK, there’s a *chance* Riley isn’t a slam dunk.” To be clear, there’s a LOT less risk with Lincoln Riley, and that was an amazing hire by SC.

@@solidverbal Fair enough Dan. Here's hoping that both schools can once again have great football programs.

I give you credit for noting the risk. But it doesn’t make sense that you spend so much time being positive and saying positive things about Lanning while you spent most of your time being negative and pointing out risks in USC hiring Riley.

I mean there ducks fans what do you expect , they also talked the whole time downplaying Mario going to Miami . It's what fans do act like they don't care then over hype someone new and downplay rivals moves

D: We have data points on Lincoln Riley and USC's recent track record. We have definitive good and bad qualities to examine about Lincoln Riley at a school better built for success than USC. We know that Riley has struggled to field average defenses and we know that he's coming off his worst season that ended in him benching his crown jewel of a HS QB recruit. These are all facts. We also noted Riley's upside and USC's hypothetical upside. Lanning is a blank slate with risks, which we noted. I don't hide the fact that I'm a Duck fan, but it doesn't change who USC has been since their one good coach since the 70s left.

Was completely consistent Mario's entire time in Eugene. Great recruiter, strong CEO, generally hired well, but repeatedly had in-game and QB issues. Maybe it'll be different in Miami. Maybe not.

@@solidverbal understood all of that. You just make it sound like you’d rather have Lanning than Riley. Also, I think you underestimate the strides the SC administration has made to make a better program, beyond the head coach. Gun to your head do think Riley is more like Carroll or Helton?
