This was good, but The Life and Death of the Road Warriors doc on dvd and the Network was much better.
@EVGriffinJr3 жыл бұрын
This is one time I will agree, the WWE version of this was much better and more accurate. What makes this one more personal though is the fact that animal actually approached Darkside of the ring for this episode. And he died not too long after it aired.

I GREW UP & LIVE IN NY SO I SAW WWF ON SATURDAY MORNINGS-- I ALSO WATCHED TBS AT 6:05 FOR WCW/ NWA-- I WATCHED AWA ON ESPN & ECW ON LATE NIGHT TV. ITS TOUGH TO SAY WHAT I LIKED BETTER -- THE HOGAN -- ROCK N WRESTLING CONNECTION OR THE MONDAY NIGHT WARS--. THEY WERE BOTH GREAT TIMES TO BE A FAN. THE CHILD IN ME WATCHING HOGAN BEAT EVERYONE & SEEING HIM LIVE-- OR THE MONDAY NIGHT WARS WATCHING BOTH SHOWS ON MONDAY NIGHTS. ITS CRAZY THAT THEY DIDNT FUED WITH DEMOLITION. ITS LIKE NOT PUTTING HOGAN VS FLAIR AT WM9. JUST GOES TO SHOW YOU HOW STRANGE VINCE IS WITH PUSHING TALENT HE DIDN'T CREATE OR PUNISHING TALENT THAT HE GOT. BUT AGAIN DID NOT CREATE. I've always thought that about WM7, that the Tag Matches were all wrong! Power and Glory were awesome! THEY should've beat the Harts, and then lost to LOD at Summerslam. It shouldve been Rockers ve Nasty Boys and Haku and Barb vs Tenryu and Kitao . 4 ex Sumo wrestler and the Tongan Terrors knew Tenryu from. waaaaay back , and it SHOULD'VE been LOD vs Demolition, Losers Leave WWF !

I agree with solomonste everything does catch up with you. It just seems extra sad because until that documentary came out I thought Hawk just partied till he dropped or something like that. it just makes it all the more sad that he finally found peace and only then did it all catch up to him.

Absolutely love The Road Warriors! They are most definitely my favorite tag team. I do agree though, that in the program that they had with Demolition, that it definitely shouldn't had been so one sided. By that point, Demolition had been well established and deserved better. That being said, I still would've preferred The Warriors coming out on top of the feud, of course. By the way, as much as I love The Road Warriors, Animal has a bad habit of embellishing in his shoot interviews. Also, of course the LOD name came from the Superfriends! I'm a fan of MOTU but, The Superfriends is my shit! I wanted to reach through my screen and slap Ellering for that one!
@ryanjacobson25083 жыл бұрын
Bill Eadie (Axe) was in his late 40's and struggling with injuries by the time Vince was jobbing them to LOD. They tried to replace Bill with Crush but that didn't work, so Vince basically gave up on LOD. LOD at that point were in their mid-late 30's, which is the prime age for wrestlers.
@EVGriffinJr3 жыл бұрын
Paul Ellering is a very smart man so I was stunned that he would make a mistake like that. I think animals explanation of the name coming from a super friends cartoon is more plausible. Since there was a group called the legion of doom in that series.

Wait you know where they got the L.O.D name, but not the origins of the mohawk gimmick. They mentioned the mohawk gimmick in the same WWE doc as the Superfriends reference. I did shake my head when Ellaring mentioned He-Man.

@@TheSolomonster yes I do recall which tape it was. It was called Grudges, Gripes and Grunts. The match actually has dubbed over commentary with Jim Ross & Bobby Heenan, since the matched occurred in '92 and JR didnt come to WWF until '93. Just something I want everyone to think about when you argument comes up on who was a better tagteam her who was a great wrestler. No the guys back in the 80s and 90s want as athletic as they are today but you know what I cared more about matches from the Road Warriors , The R&R Express, The Outsiders, etc. And I have anyone that can do 10 flips off the top rope. I wish today’s generation would get it through their skull that just because they can do a bunch of flips doesn’t mean shit if the fans aren’t emotionally invested. There’s about 2 million American fans that will watch today shit no matter how bad it gets in about 200,000 of them will go out of their way to order ppvs. It’s great you can do that many flips but we went from 8 million people watching wrestling a week to 2 million because only about 3% of the guys working today actually know how to really work instead of just doing moves.
