I've been a pro wrestling fan since mid '85 and I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I knew nothing about this situation 'til 2015! Somehow all of this escaped me. I had (and still do) a huge collection of wrestling magazines and I don't recall any of them mentioning any of this. Granted, those magazines were steeped in kafabe but, every now and then, you would read about something involving wrestlers that had nothing to do with them being in the ring, it would be about a real incident. For example, I read about The Iron Sheik and Jim duggan being busted for drugs in one of the Apter Mags. I grew up a huge Jimmy Snuka fan and I will always be a fan of his ring work but, it's pretty obvious, judging by everything that I've heard and read, that he is definitely guilty of this. I feel very bad for Nancy and her family.
@willisskull26764 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure when I first heard about this tragedy, but it was pretty much common knowledge among wrestling fans by then. Snuka himself wrote about Vince McMahon entering with a briefcase and leaving without it. When they finally started pursuing Snuka for murder, it was like, "No shit!" We already knew he's a murderer. The fact that it took 20-30 years to get a tiny bit of justice is absurd. This should have been dealt with a long, long time ago. I don't care if he's a wrestler or not, Snuka was an abusive, coked up monster. What he did outside the ring doesn't change what he did in the ring, and vice versa. As much as I love wrestling, it's hard to love. Snuka, Benoit, Owen Hart, all the drug abuse, all the wrestlers who died young, it's tragic. Thank you for sharing your perspective as a long time fan.

Sounds like a case of a guy who let drugs go to his head and did something he would regret for the rest of his life. Regardless, Snuka chose to do all that coke and never owned up to what he did. He is responsible for his own actions.

Just my own 2 cents to this story. There are no (repeat NO) heroes in this story. Because as much as everyone (and I include Nancy's family), wants to come out and cry, moan and scream about the lack of final justice to this case...I personally hold them ALL accountable for her death. Everyone seems to want to say now that Jimmy was this manic "Jeckyl and Hyde" person, that one minute he's as safe as a sleeping lamb, the next he's a raving lunatic. Well, if they ALL KNEW THIS, yet none of them did anything to STOP IT, then they are all EQUALLY RESPONSIBLE for the outcome. Pure and simple. Bottom line, if you or someone you know is in a violent predicament, it is your MORAL OBLIGATION to intercede. Even if the person tells you not to.

Vince McMahon covered up a lot of heinous stuff that his talent did over the years because he was a shady wrestling promoter a lot of people, including myself when I was younger, looked at wrestlers as these larger than life people, but we did not see what they were really like behind closed doors a lot of wrestlers, especially back in the 70s and 80s were big-time drug addicts who did violent things and got away with it and their promoters always covered up for them. Wrestling is a very shady business a lot of the wrestlers used to do disgusting things behind the curtains, such as shit and peoples duffel bags food, and other gross stuff so ask yourself this do these so-called wrestlers live this clean cut lifestyle no lot of them are women beaters drug users, and a lot of them are straight up criminals I really believe the me too movement shed light on the dark side of Hollywood and the evil things that take place behind the scenes of these people that we see on TV… fast forward to the late 90s and early 2000s when Vince became the Mr. McMahon character it was truly disgusting and it wasn’t just a character he played on TV. He really is sick and twisted which is why the WWE cut ties with him after the TKO and UFC merger but it’s too late. The WWE will always have the dirty fingerprints of the McMahon family all over it
