Granny Rags used to be known as Lady Moray, she was sent to Addemire Asylum and you can find her journals there in the basement. Her portrait in the first game is in the Boyle mansion. Corvo defeats her in the sewers canonically, but in the second game Paolo is using her powers as he has her hand.

Ah hell yeah. I was waiting for this, i personally like Dishonored 1 more than 2 but the gameplay in 2 is just so amazing. My favourite part is the fact that you can actually pretty easily do a non lethal playthrough where you go into combat all the time, doing those cool slide knockdowns in the middle of a fight is just so satisfying.

I feel the exact same about Dishonered 1 and 2. The first had a great story and characters but the second had much more interesting stealth mechanics. But for me the slide takedown in particular the nonlethal one made non-lethal assault way too good. They're also aren't explained to the player very well and I didn't know about them until after three full assault playthroughs.

my favorite part of dishonored 2 is that it has a quicksave feature for console's, open the pause menu and then hold the right trigger, such a small thing but it is hugely appreciated.

Btw, since you seem to be playing Death of the Outsider, theres something interesting to note that it seems you missed based on the footage. If you actually save Stilton by stopping his attendance to the séance, Billie's arm and eye are still intact

Yes! Messing with the timeline in Stilton's manor is such a crazy good mechanic! So much fun to see everything changing. And phasing through time instead of teleporting is a really fun change up of the stealth mechanics.

For the achievement where you need to kill an enemy with his own bullet, there is an easier way. There is an ability called reflexes that actually allows you to reflect bullets with your sword when upgraded

Can be done on The Dreadful Whale, that's how I got mine! Work health down by cooking grenade til it explodes then stand as close to the wall as possible and blast away with the explosive bullets, and done

For clean hands you actually just climb up the ledges to the right after you enter the painting and Delilah is just there. So you can just choke her out and skeddadle and it counts as never being spotted and clean hands, lol. Also for fatal redirect you can just get the 'parry gunshots' ability and redirect the bullet with your sword. But I am amazed you had so much trouble with songs of serkonos. I got that one on a casual playthrough by just chilling out and listening. The one that took me the longest was 'collect all the coins' and even that one was fun to do.

It's wonderful to see another person enjoy this game, I've seen many arguments for and against, but I really love both of them, even Death of the Outsider, which seems to catch a lot more contempt. There was a comment recently by Dinga Bakaba "confirming" that Deathloop was canonically part of the Dishonored world, which if you follow the comment the Outsider makes on time bleeding into itself, kinda tracks, along with some other easter eggs, but I'd still take that with a grain of salt. Also I've tried comparing Deathloop's map to Dishonored, I can't find a match, but that could mean anything from the landscape changed, to it wasn't discovered until much later, to "they made it the hell up".

the concept art shows that blackreef is in tyvia but its actually possible that its too small to have been drawn by a cartographer (which they sometimes do) but there are indications of small islands on the northeast most side of tyvia

I think people who prefer the 1st are stuck in nostalgia, the second game did everything the first did but better, like, compare the targets, each one was a master work and progressively complex to face depending of how you play now we got aerial and combat non-lethal, bonecharm crafting to make a whole build to match your skills, and we even got NG+

I prefer the first because I prefer the art style and setting. The gameplay is technically better and smoother than the first and I like the new powers and NG +. I dont like comparing sequels to each other and try judging them on their individual strengths.

I think the witches get their power from Breanne who gets it from Delilah, because only she has the mark. So when Breanne loses her power, the witches connected to her also lose theirs. Also, the Dishonore series is a favourite of mine, thanks, man!

yeah i agree on Dishonored 2 being better than the first one, and i think the main reason for it is the level desing. The first game was increbidly good as it was and was definetely great for it's time, but some things in the second game like the clockwork mansion (as much of a pain in the ass as that mission was) and the timepiece mechanic are just beyond anything i've seen in any other game ever. This franchise still holds a place to me as one of the most unique games in it's core design between all the hundreds of games i've played over the years.

Its funny how you struggled so much with the musician's achievement, I got that one without actively trying or even knowing the achievement existed on my first playthrough :D For me the problem is rather the fact that you have to play the game 2/3 times to get 100%, but i admire your dedication. Great video all around, makes me want to maybe go for at least a second playthrough to get as many more achievements as I can! ^^'

I personally agree. Dishonored is tied with Hitman as one of my favourite game series of all time, but Dishonored 2 was a lot more fun in my opinion.

I thought the achievements for this game were perfect. They were fun, made you think, and made you do multiple playthroughs. Took me around 35ish hours to get all the achievements and I absolutely loved every second of it. Made all the better by New Game+ although I must admit after two runs on the very hard difficulty and the flesh and steel achievement being the only one remaining I did stick it on easy. You definitely tried to do some achievements the hard way though, for example not using the deflect bullet upgrade to get a guard killed with their own bullet. Strangely, I never had a problem with the Songs of Serkonos achievement.

Seeing someone struggle with Songs of Serkonos is so relatable lol. It took me so many playthroughs just to get it to pop. I feel like the main reason it was bugged is due to how the music is being played. Sometimes you will hear only instruments being played, and sometimes you will only hear the vocals being played without any instruments. However, in order for the achievement to pop, you need to ensure that you listen to the song from start to end while having BOTH vocals and instrumentals audible. This meant I'd have to sit there and listen to the duo loop their song multiple times until the conditions were met and lo and behold, it popped.

I just finished the no kill and no detection challenge for my first playthrough myself, and I have to say Dishonored 2 definitely lived up to its predecessor. I used Emily, and I found all her powers to be intriguing and useful in their own right (some more then others in a pacifist route).

I think I was most of the way through a Pacifist playthrough, when I defeated Breanna - and a witch fell to her death outside. I didn't notice for quite awhile and borked my playthrough, I didn't want to reload at that point, I was so tired of it.

I reaaaaaaallly hope you like death of the outsider because while not liked much by the community, i think it has some extremely memorable missions and specifically the last mission is my #1 dishonored mission just because it takes place partially in the void which i love because the void in dishonored 2 and DotO is super atmospheric.

Death of the Outsider is my favourite bit of the Dishonored series. i always felt restricted by how the chaos system was a glorified morality system, and i find that Billie being more down to earth makes the world feel so much more vivid. i love missions 2 and 3 in particular because they really make clear how your actions affect the people around you while still hammering home the message that Billie doesn't matter

I personally found DOTO the most interesting in terms of the story. We finally get to learn more about the void and a key character which is the outsider and the following conflict of how the outsider was initially an unwilling victim and how that still doesn’t erase the damage he caused. A completely new perspective of his character in contrary to his cold and bratty character we saw in the previous games. And we get to play a full mission in the void. Also the VA somehow is more impactful and expressive in this game than the others, the vulnerability you can almost hear in the outsider’s voice in some scenes are very memorable.

@@darkanayer5867 Yeah the developers confirmed DEATHLOOP is in the same world as Dishonored, just like a 100yrs or so after death of the outsider. The loop is basically the void, and that’s why the powers in DEATHLOOP are similar to the powers in Dishonored, because they come from the same place :) (FYI this isn’t major spoilers for DEATHLOOP as this is found out through Easter Eggs, notes, nods and the devs haha)

To explain why the witches are knocked out when you suck Breanna's powers, it's because her coven weren't naturally given their powers, they were "graced" with them by Breanna herself, so if she losses it, so do they since they're essentially just siphoning some from her. Also another cool fact, if you don't turn on any contraptions at Jindosh's mansion, he will never be aware someone is there, and thus won't turn on his clockwork soldiers in the last room, but that means going through the mansion normally which is slightly less interesting but also shockingly enough a lot more difficult.

I really love how if you knock out Aramis Stilton in the past before you watch the ritual, the whole present changes and Aramis Stilton is not truamatized anymore since he wasnt apart of the ritual and can rule so the present looks alot better and cleaner. Stilton also appears on your ship to talk to.

I really enjoyed dishonored 2. Loved the first one when it came out and preordered 2 the moment I found out about it but didn’t play it for years. I’m very glad I waited to play it with the not so great launch and bugs but it felt great to revisit the world and characters. I wholeheartedly agree with you about 2 perfecting aspects of 1. It was a great challenge to play blind with no powers and on the hardest difficulty. I hope arcane can think of something that would be a good follow up, like a granny rags prequel or something

"Supposedly Jessamine's half-sister and true heir to the throne" Uhh, this place has some really weird succession laws if the half-sister is ahead in inheritance to a lawful heir. Maybe if it were a half-brother I could get it, but as it is, that's pretty fishy right off that bat from a world-logic POV. The smart move from Delilah since she already had all these traitors in her pocket before this went down anyway, would've just been to quietly and discreetly kill Emily in her bed one night, or poison her, or have an accident at sea. This grand confrontation is so moustache twirling derp-villain stuff. :P Dishonored 1 was so good, especially with the worldbuilding and amazing setting it created. The other entries in the series are kinda shite in comparison and feel half-baked and a shadow of the first game. Squandering the great setting, wasting their potential, and ruining story and characters established by the first one. A real ya blew it. >__>
