Wow! I knew about the DTMF for numbers, but I didn't know the "ringout" tone was doing the same, and merely the dissonance is what creates the "motion." How cool!

Oh snap! This is the kind of tight metasounds stuff I live for. Especially the bit where you slag off how easy it is to make the North American dial tone in particular.

At 19:00 you paste in the values...what is the format of the Notepad document?
@TheSoundFXGuyАй бұрын
@@JohnToenjes You can wrap values in parenthesis and separate them by commas without spaces. So this is what my notepad document looked like. DTMF Low Tones (941.000000,697.000000,697.000000,697.000000,770.000000,770.000000,770.000000,852.000000,852.000000,852.000000) DTMF High Tones (1336.000000,1209.000000,1336.000000,1477.000000,1209.000000,1336.000000,1477.000000,1209.000000,1336.000000,1477.000000)

You don’t have to copy the labels. I just had them in the doc so I knew which values went where.

Is this inspired by the book Designing Sound by Andy Farnell?
@TheSoundFXGuyАй бұрын
No. It's a little more simple than that. It was inspired by our Game Director for Don't! Fret coming to me and going "Hey, I'd like to have a phone in the game. Can you make that happen?" and then I decided to make a tutorial on it lol.
