Well, I mean people are getting a misconstrued conception of time time is only linear to the observer meaning if you’re on a spaceship, traveling the speed of light, but you keep the same time zone as on earth you’ll be in the same time

Think Sam is right, if you take time and space as a line, and label it with points each representing a galaxy, A, B, C, D, E, F..... then assume earth is A, and Destiny is in D, A and D stones only need to connect relativistically, in terms of shared metrics of movement to connect Point D has alot of time dilation going on, but not as much as say, every point A, B, C, D, E, F moving towards or away does simultaneously. The stones only gotta sorta match the signature to A to D, or when destiny is moving faster than light, the speed of Destiny. The trigonometry would of finding and reconnecting to a suddenly fast moving stone would be similar to what Ramon Llull did with calculating when ships get lost at sea and had to figure out their coordinates relative to known ports, you go off both landmark navigation as well as a cardinal direcrion, the cardinal direction being a presumption of a fractal point to zero in on till contact is made. Ramon calculated for a 2-D map, you need it as a fractal for 3-D space plus time modulation to make a connection. In otherwords, Destiny might very well predate what we call trigonometry.... ancients were highly advanced, but not in literally everything, some areas we are actually ahead by pure virtue of being our own civilization with our own experiences and history. Now you take these points A, B, C, D, E, F..... If Destiny is in D, and jumps to E, people in E even if they travel via a slower than light ship back to D might not find evidence of Destiny ever being in D, because from D's timeline, it hasn't occurred yet. To find evidence, you would have to travel faster than light to F, which is where Destiny is going, at a speed faster than Destiny can get there. Causality for destiny is still proceeding linearly A, B, C, D, E, F, G..... but for observers stuck to subluminious and asgard like intergalactic hyperdrive flight, the arrival in their galaxy is literally the first point in time destiny is empirically observable..... from their perspective. Reason why is destiny is traveling through a galaxy and the space between roughly 1 per year according to destiny time, but if the bow of the ship is breaking time, to the point it is going backwards in time against "time's arrow" at a rate of say, three years reverse time travel, then to a observer just receiving Destiny at point E, it never traveled the year before in point D, or even C, but all the way back in B! What is more startling, a observer in point E might be suffering from groups in later points ahead on the timeline, in points F, G, H, I..... who go back looking for evidence of where the destiny came from. If they grasp it is time traveling backwards a few years each time further in the past, they might be able to head it off and send it elsewhere, destroy it, etc. The TV show Andromeda dealt with this scenario with The Black Knight, a time traveler who went backwards against the flow of time, who tried to destroy the ship Everytime it encountered Andromeda. Andromeda had to break the coordination of space and time with two different time arrows so as to make the Andromeda invisible temporally to the knight. So the physics check out well enough. I don't believe however the destiny and the seed ships seeded anything except stargates and paranoia. It wasn't willfully creating life. I don't know if it could reach the big bang though. The physics might not match up, see Descartes Demon, the idea that the rules of physics could suddenly shift. It might be a era that would make for the material construction of the destiny in what we could call space increasingly impossible to navigate. And beard man, you are my favorite furling.

Always thought they should do the antients and the Ori should have been plotlined the same way... an experimental ship gone wacky sending the crew to the Ori galaxy, millions of years into the past, and starting everthing in the first place. Nice theory for Destiny though.

@@louiepatouie4168 absolutely right (I think) surely if destiny is outrunning causality it can essentially catch up with the big bang. I like the idea of destiny having some form of 'Payload' what was the last thing the ancients developed, I'm sure Rodney blew up a solar system he also said "maybe the universe". I still think destiny's mission was to be god and trigger inflation when the universe began. Also they did seem to be setting up McKay to join the destiny and himself had been at a place where he was near asended and I'm sure claimed to know physics so important it could change everything 😐😲

Your info about the decedents from Novus isn't correct. The Novans discovered that their planet was becoming unstable due to a black hole entering their area of space. They weren't wiped out by the volcanic activity on the planet; the two nations/factions on the planet pooled resources to build generation ships to reach another planet they had discovered (which didn't have a stargate), leaving 25-30 years before Destiny arrived to find the planet a deserted volcanic hell--they evacuated the planet. The Novans might well have been wiped out in transit by the Drones, but we don't know, it's not touched on by the show. I'm pretty sure Destiny is not traveling back in time. Everything that happens on the ship is realtime here on Earth, so....no.
@chimalez29245 жыл бұрын
@Aaron M it's possible that the 9 Chevron transit is special because it lets you travel back in time far enough to reach the Destiny and that the stones use the same principle, only reversed; however I'm only 4 minutes in and I too have found a flaw: if the Berzerker drones from season 2 only redeployed to blockade the stars after they knew Destiny was coming, why didn't the inevitable time jumps prevent the ship from ever making contact (they would've arrived before the drones were ever sent to block them)?
@Soulindex4 жыл бұрын
As Chimalez pointed out, the drones invalidate the theory, but also the aliens that were following Destiny. Not only that, but basically every time a team was left stranded and Destiny jumped, it also invalidates this theory, because even if we're assuming "the 9 Chevron let's you time travel" (despite the requirements of time travel being laid quite clearly in the franchise), only standard connections were made when Eli, Creer, Chloe, and Scott rejoined the crew. (Small aside, but I had noticed an influx of comments on other channels with some weird claims or misinformation in recent years, and I think I just now found the channel (The Stargate Guy) that has been the source :/)

The only difference between using a stardrive to open a Hyperspace window and the FTL engine is that travel in hyperspace bypasses the effects of normal space, such as gravity and matter. For instance, you can open a hyperspace window and travel through a planet, FTL engines can’t do that. That’s part of the reason why seed ships were sent ahead of Destiny, so the Destiny’s computer could map a course avoiding normal space phenomena. But the effects are the same no matter how you break C.

2 main things: The decendents of the crew that went back into the past weren't wiped out. They new well ahead of time that their planet was doomed, so they left their planet on ships which were incapable of FTL travel, to go to one of their colonies. They would be somewhere on the way to their colony now, likely travelling near the speed of light so it will take very little time for them. The other main killer for FTL is Rush. He wasn't on the ship for a significant time. He had to navigate through the gate network to rejoin the ship before it completely left the galaxy. If Destiny was going back in time he would have either gotten on the ship with him still on it, before he left, or a completely empty ship before the crew arrived.

I maintain that SGU is the best of the three series however one issue that has bothered me with the Twin Destinies arc is just that, the two Destinies. Why? Because it's the wormhole that bends back in time on itself due to the solar flare. The ship itself never did actually time travel. So why are there two of them? I know, in story they needed the supplies and spare parts but in terms of just telling a logical story that part just doesn't fit.

In most of the time travel episodes I don't think they usually travel to a time and place where they're currently existing. If they did travel somewhere in their past, wouldn't there be two of them? The 'time dilation after FTL' question is an interesting one, my best argument for the 'no it does not happen' is the 'change of reference frame' idea, I say when when you open a wormhole you bring the distant location (in time and space) into your local, thus syncing up both reference frames in terms of time. If you don't have a 'wormhole machine' you are screwed, but if you do, and you activate it, the universe syncs up for ever more and it's all cool for more sci-fi shows.

Nothing IN the universe can travel faster than C, but the reason that space-time can do this on large scales is that it's all expanding on the small scale, each bit expanding in all dimensions, so you go far enough away and that spacetime is expanding away from you faster than an object close to you can possibly go, but at that point, the space-time you are in is expanding away from it faster than anything where it is can go.
@LeoH3L16 жыл бұрын
At C the passage of time would come to a stop for you, an outside observer would see you as stopped, if you could go FTL you'd appear to an outside observer to be going backwards, but to you you wouldn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

5:17 so excluding the fact that the reason everything looks a bit Earthy is because of the fact it is all filmed on earth and in location that are easy to reach and film in, I know it’s boring but it’s true and it would break the budget to make places look not like earth, but going off on a tangent here when you look at earth and just how diverse it is not counting changes in gravity ied recon that almost any place you go in the galaxy will have a representation of it somewhere on earth (outliers been places like Saturn that are just gas clouded with attitude or is that altitude sorry for the dad joke) But think of the divers places we have on earth, we have the frozen wasteland of polls, to tropical jungles so dense we still have penetrated them, we have some of the highest mountains where no life can survive (but you can bet there would still somehow be spiders) to the deepest depths of the ocean, we have caves so fast that you can literally build some of the largest cots in the world in them and still have room to spare (this is the real idea behind the hollow earth massive caves filled with nothing but darkness, none of the egg shell silliness) to the crystal caves in Mexico? (I’m sure it was Mexico but don’t quote me on it) where you need special equipment to even enter and even then you are limited to under an hour before it starts to kill us humans and then crystals are so sharp that they slice though skin like a hot knife though butter, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that every last solid planet out there has something really close to it somewhere on earth. But back to my original point I could see quite a lot of that theory fitting in with what we have seen even if that’s not the way the writers go with the show, I mean stuff gets odd the faster you go and the closer to SOL you get, I mean in today’s real world the astronauts up on the INSS come back and depending on how long they have been up there are several months younger that the people down here on earth (I forget the exact maths but I know they age slower than people on earth, I want to say like a day a month but I’m sure it’s not that bigger discrepancy) so if you are actually going FTL that’s going to mess with time (remember the black hole episode of SG1)

Always nice hearing your theories, observations and your obvious knowledge of the entire Stargate stories. In my opinion, there was only one really impressive time traveling ship. It's function was very clear. I refer to the custom puddle jumper that was found by the SG-1 team on a planet in the episode Ain't it great to be King. But it also appeared on Earth some years before it was found buried in tall weeds on that planet far from Earth, in really good condition, years before the Stargate was used and SG-1 was formed. This was a truly powerful and programmable retrofitted Jumper that traveled Way back in time. Or forward. This clearly shows that early Ancient vessels were on Earth during time periods not yet disclosed. Whenever the subject of powerful space craft comes up, I always think about the incredible power of that one little Puddle Jumper. Thank You!

Well as you explained, Destiney isn't routinely traveling in time. If it is did the Expedition time-jump to get to the ship? Is it relative time? Like if traveling from Earth "10,000" years after the launch, would you find yourself on the ship 10,000 years old but 200,000 years in the past... It is possible that with an sunspots similar to the "Twin Destiney" or even "1969" some of the crew may travel back farther... Say a group of say Futurans used a Sunspot to find "Rush" but ended up in distant past, and found the Ori home-world... This would mean they somehow traveled multiple galaxies away to the Ori/Ancient Galaxy. (Ship wouldn't travel with them) More likely is this group in the distant past could Ascend to become the "Planet Builders" the Race that creates planets from nothing... In turn they'd be powerful enough to then go and seed the Ori Galaxy in the distant galaxy, completing the cycle of their own creation... This implies every reality would need Earthlings to be sent back in time start the loop, and we know some earths are destroyed earlier... So if Destiney's Crew is in someway the Ancients and Earth is killed off before the expedition leaves. Then the Ancient home-world wasn't founded, no gates are built and no Humans are brought into existence... Only way I see the ship itself traveling back and being the source of life, which I feel is what he was going for here is the "Time-Jumper"... Say instead of destroying the modified Puddle-Jumper, it was relocated somewhere only they'd find it. In a yet unexplored room of the Destiney... Where it's then tied into the Destiney's systems and time jumps the ship that way, or maybe some variation of the Rodney's dimension bridge... Like shielded the ship and send it across spacetime, but in it's own reality... or they travel so far back all realities become one universe again... Say only a few of the infinite realities have their Destiney travel to the same point in time and space... Implodes, explodes and starts all reality... This prevents the need for each time-line to send someone to kickstart things, but any that do become part of the "Big Bang" and seed others...

not sure if its been said in the comments in the past or not, but to my understanding the time traveling mostly just happens when traveling through the SG, due to some anomaly in the wormhole, like it tunneling through a solar flare or something

Simply adding ZPMs, naquida or naquaria generators to the Tau'ri gates wouldn't work to boost the power of the gate to allow the 9th chevron dialing and sending personnel and gear through--if that's all it took, they would have done it. Tau'ri have not found ways to integrate ZPMs to our technology--and ZPMs are extremely rare and hard to find. Using other ships to catch up with Destiny is WAY OUT there--if it was that easy, they would have just set a ship out for that purpose. Destiny is "billions of lightyears from home", according to Dr. Rush, even with our hyperdrives, even with the Asgard inergalactic hyper drives, it would still take thousands of years to catch up--keep in mind, Destiny is over one million years old and has been in and out of FTL for all that time. It just won't work. :(

There is a lot of things the Ancients did that the Asgard didn't catch up to, as advanced as they were--the Ori gave the Asgard a serious run for their money (it took numerous Asgard ships to take down a single Ori mothership). Atlantis's wormhole drive takes a great many ZPMs to power and, again, ZPMs are very scarce. It takes a whole planet made of Naquadria--VERY rare--to dial a 9th chevron address, a few ZPMs jerry-rigged to a stargate just isn't going to have that kind of power; if you can find the ZPMs. There very well may be a power source up to the challenge in the Asgard knowledge-base they gave us, but finding it and actually constructing it with our understanding is another matter--we are the Fifth Race, but we are still very young (and often do not do as we are told). I like the ideas you are proposing, but in practice we just don't have the know-how to put it into motion.

From what I remember, the signal from dawn of time was only partially detected by the ancients in the cosmic microwave background. It is actually smeared across large portion of the universe. The mission of Destiny is to travel FTL to various parts of the universe to capture parts of that signal that are invisible from earth, due to expansion of the universe. For example, if part of the signal was transmitted where earth is now, but during the big bang, you have to travel 20 billion lightyears away, to catch up with the light and detect the signal. This also explains why destiny does not travel through hyperspace. It must travel through normal space with sensors turned on, to detect the signal as it flies. If it travelled through hyperspace, it would have to stop and collect data for 1 year per each 1lightyear of jumping. I have a theory of my own. I theorize that there are actually 2 destiny ships, travelling in opposite directions. Reasoning is simple - it is statistically unlikely that earth happens to be in a spot, where one end of the signal ends - you need two ships to capture it in full. In fact, I theorize that the second ship is the reason why destiny project was wiped off records. It actually got boarded by ancients as originally intended and they deciphered part of the signal. And in lovecraftian cosmic horror of what they found, they abandoned the project. Only problem is, why not destroy destiny too... probably the signal can't be fully deciphered with just one half, rendering the half collected by destiny useless.
@qdllc6 жыл бұрын
Nice idea, but my impression was that after attaining ascension, the Ancients just lost interest or found the knowledge by another means. However, I never understood the concept of "seed ships" to plant gates AHEAD of Destiny. Why even use gates? What happens if the seed ships are destroyed or break down? Is Destiny slaved to the path set by the seed ships (can't completely divert off the path)?
@KohuGaly6 жыл бұрын
The seed ships serve as a vanguard. They plant sensors with long-range transmission on planets along the path. The gates are just for convenience of access - destiny already has to have one, so why not use it... If the seed ships get destroyed, destiny just goes ahead as planned. It looses forward scouts and gates. If it needs to collect resources, it will have to search for them the old-fashioned way and will have to rely on the shuttles. That is a major inconvenience. And yes, destiny is slaved to predefined path. Or rather the mission is to move in certain general direction. The seed ships merely seek compromise between the straightest path and access to resources. In theory Destiny can go wherever it wants.

Interesting theory. I was always bothered by Destiny's FTL not being explored more. They make a point of saying it's not in hyperspace, yet don't account for relativity. I eventually came to the conclusion that, since it's an older version of FTL travel that it's actually a sort of warp drive like in Star Trek, or rather the Alcubierre Drive which posits that since the ship isn't technically moving faster than light it doesn't experience time dilation. As for time travel. I actually had a similar theory about this, though not as grand. That being: as Destiny gathers and decodes the message/pattern in the cosmic background radiation it is actually decoding and developing advanced understanding of the universe (as Rush put it: "The more we learn, the greater our ability to control everything around us will be."). But since it's only got a portion of the code, it's only unlocked a couple capabilities. In this case, Destiny has the ability to manipulate time in some limited form. Why do I say this? Well, because throughout the series's sadly short run the crew of the Destiny is saved by fluke events which involve time travel on numerous occasions. "Time" has them being saved by the microscopic organism poisoning their water thanks to a one-in-a-million solar flare messing with the stargate, and the events of "Twin Destinies" had the double benefit of providing the crew with replacement parts (conveniently just after their big battle with the drones leaves them in dire need of spare parts) and double their supplies and resulted in the creation of the Novus civilization which provided more resources and opportunities. Also, this can explain some of the strange things that the supposed "Eden Planet Aliens" get up to if you go with the idea that it's Destiny (or possibly someone in the future using Destiny's new capabilities) manipulating time. Like resurrecting Cain and the others only for them to die the same way they did on Eden, as if someone "rewound" them to a point before they died but time caught up with them again (Rush even points out how it makes no sense why the people left on Eden weren't restored like the shuttle was, well that's because the shuttle was "rewound" too, it's just got several million years on the Eden folks is all).

Speed of Light is an unreachable target, as you approach speed of light from 'our' side of it, the amount of energy needed to move rises, and an infinite amount of energy is needed. As well time slows more and more as you approach C. If you had a particle or matter that was going faster than C, the 'arrow of time' would be going the opposite way, and the particle would be going backwards in time from our perspective, and from that particles perspective C would also be impossibly fast, but from our timeframe, C would be impossibly slow for that particle.
@TheLiamis6 жыл бұрын
As soon as you try to move a particle faster than c it just gains mass. The only way to move relatively ftl is through the likes of liquid helium. Some particles move relatively ftl due to light slowing down in liquid helium and the ftpl particle leaves a light equivalent of a sonic boom.

Well I'm going to add one other thing that potentially it's just that the writers didn't think about it until Stargate universe but it kind of makes you wonder about. On Stargate universe the person using the Stones switches place with the other person using the stones back on Earth. On Stargate SG-1 Daniel and Vala just possessed people that were in the Ori Galaxy. So then it makes you wonder what happened to the people that were in the Ori Galaxy that Daniel and Vala possessed? They should have taken over taking over Daniel and Vilas bodies in this galaxy

I think the best way I can explain time-dilation is two explanations. One theory and one factual example. 1. Factual: GPS suffers from time-dilation which is why there is a program to make the corrections to make it work. 2. Overly simplified explanation: If you're riding a beam of light, from your point of view time would be instantaneous from point of origin to destination. Time would essentially stop for you.
@primezero866 жыл бұрын
Time dilatation is on an episode of atlantis and shows that the crew experience time much slower than the rest of the galaxy. So the jump through accelerating would mean that the crew experience it slower than the rest. So it can't be going backwards. However the theory could still be right if destiny gets to the point of origin and its chucked back in time through technology or something natural I.e blackhole temperal wormhole. @@TheStargateGuy That is a good theory. But since the people who lived in those two cities had a basic religion that originated from the destiny shouldn't there be someone that created the destiny? it's possible that the 9 Chevron transit is special because it lets you travel back in time far enough to reach the Destiny and that the stones use the same principle, only reversed; however I'm only 4 minutes in and I too have found a flaw: if the Berzerker drones from season 2 only redeployed to blockade the stars after they knew Destiny was coming, why didn't the inevitable time jumps prevent the ship from ever making contact? They would've arrived before the drones were redeployed there.

Time dilation for the brief periods of relativistic travel pre and post FTL would be negligible in the time frame of the series. However, there is a theory that anything traveling faster than light (tachyonic matter) would experience time in reverse, but the way the Destiny experiences FTL travel is probably any aberrant time travel into consideration so that no or few causality issues would crop up for the ancients. (A temporal compensator perhaps?) Also the ancients did seed the Milky Way with life using the Dakara device and the Stargates but that was necessary due to the plague that occurred in that galaxy.

sgu was an odd galaxy. so first the ancients were in their home ori galaxy, then escaped left to i`m not really sure. i would assume the sgu galaxy because the gate system was much more limited in functionality. but they left for some reason. and made a home within the milky way, aka earth. made more gates to seed, then left earth to Pegasus then seeded gates there. but universe is still a mystery as to why they went there, why they abandon it, why they were seeding these planets. however i do find it possible that they were maybe the creators of this galaxy. but i cant find any reason why they abandon it. but universe is still a mystery as to why they went there, why they abandon it, why they were seeding these planets. however i do find it possible that they were maybe the creators of this galaxy. but i cant find any reason why they abandon it. i`m usually pretty good at theorizing these things. but i would really love to know what the writers were brainstorming up for the sgu series. what was their direction?

Destiny traveling through time is highly unlikely because they have contact with current time earth and they were boarded by current time Lucian Alliance. Also in the attempt to return to Earth by parking the ship during the refueling phase in a star, Colonel Telford returned successfully to earth while the rest of the crew was send into the past. And so far only two ways to travel through time have been shown to work in Stargate universe. One: Traveling through the stargate while the wormhole is influenced by a solar flare. Two: A device created by the Lantean Janus that was installed in a Puddlejumper.

Here's a question from California: if the Destiny is NOT traveling back in time and turning the human crew into the Ancients, then where does the human species have it's true origins? I ask because I've heard in several other Stargate videos on KZbin (I honestly don't remember which ones or I would mention them) that the Ancients were human and had seeded humans throughout the various galaxies of the universe. I also seem to remember hearing that the Ancients traveled to the Milky Way galaxy and landed on Earth, and there were no humans on Earth before they arrived. Were the Alterans (I apologize if my spelling of the name is wrong) the very first humans, or were they the descendants of the first humans?

Hey Stargate Guy, great channel but I have a few theories and corrections 1)the decedents two nations set aside there differences and pooled there resources to build two generation ships to escape the distraction of Novus after there stargate was destroyed in an earthquake to escape the blackhole entering there system and only one of the ship were finish in time but they had no ftl or hyperdrive so the trip to the new colony would take them hundreds of years with sub-light and depending on how close to the speed of light and how close the blackhole is it could take longer because of relativity 2) one theory I have is the decedents could still be the ancient they have either gone back farther in time either by accident see as the stargate don't have DHD with security measure prevent it or on purpose. 3) because of the blackhole and possibly dark matter in there galaxy there basically in a time dilation bubble and they could advance million of years there in real time kind of like the human form replicators did on the asgard plant once they got control of the time dilation device

Time travel always makes things weird and it's always hard to say what is and isn't changed by these trips. Maybe you can change the past, maybe you can't or it's something that always happened so it did happen first even though it didn't, maybe you go back and make your reason for going back go away breaking the universe, or maybe different tangents branch off, but at any rate, time travel defly exists in the SG universe and they harp on it more than once. We've seen it happen with a few different methods. The one most related to Ancients I'd say, is a stargate and planning for a solar flare. Bam, forward or back. What does Destiny have a ton of detailed info on and get near a lot? Stars. Not to mention the seed ships data, yet using time travel would also kind of make the seed ships unnecessary; Destiny itself could plant things, drop gates, gather info, then jump thru a solar flare to a time where these things were useful. Perhaps this is why we never see another seed ship? While they do get followed, other races in the SG universe have been shown to posses time technologies too. They can even use their network of gates to bridge to stars really far away when the time is right for a solar flare. I figure this is how the stones work too. It seems real time, but if the ship is going all over time, it could send the information to itself from any different time to be sent at the right time to arrive during the time of the stones uses. (Haha, that was a fun sentence.) Same way with getting the broadcast back from Earth, a Destiny receiving it in any timezone could send it forward or backwards in time to itself as necessary. I'd say this also explains why the stones don't work during the 'FTL startup'. The time effect we see could be the time travel jump, then after that it's just using its engines to move in whatever spacetime it ended up in. Provided, the only way this would work is if the ship's stargate was able to apply it's wormhole to the outside of the ship as well. Perhaps this integration is why they used to build the rings smaller, however the Ancients should've had a way to use their massive gate network with their ships or it would've been a pretty big missed opportunity. The biggest evidence this is possible though, is the episode where they accidentally made a second Destiny actually. If done correctly you could essentially go everywhere and make entire fleets and armadas using one ship. They could have moved galaxies with this power and set in motion humanoid habitable planets-to-be! Heck, they could've figured out how to induce solar flares and really made the possibilities endless. Time travel might be one of the Ancients greatest assets and one of the main reasons to build all the stargates in the first place. As for the new crew becoming the Ancients, I actually think is unlikely because it'd be one of those moments where they went back in time to build the thing that allowed them to go back in time. Might be possible, yet even if they weren't _the_ Ancients, they were descendants of them and could have been key in the Ancients plans for populating the cosmos with similar humanoids. So I guess technically that means they were Ancients? Just not the first wave. Haha, time travel always makes things weird...

Consider the Time Space Superstructure on a graph: you have Space at the bottom horizontal and Time on the left vertical; drawing a diagonal line at 45 degrees will be representative of the Space-Time Superstructure experience on Earth at present, as you decrease speed you increase Time, so your experience would be further towards Time, if you were to become completely motionless, you would no longer be traversing through space and there would be only time, controversy to this, if you were to travel faster then at present, you experience MORE Space and LESS Time, if you were to travel at c then you would only experience SPACE and zero Time! Why would time dilation stop once you go passed the speed of light? Not that in reality you can go passed the speed of light. You'd still be at infinite mass and dilation even after passing the speed of light, so time dilation would still exist. Unless going pass the speed of causality itself just makes the universe glitch because the numbers no longer makes sense and that's how you encounter the legendary pokemon mew. I'm sure that the show probably was going to have the deatiny crew somehow involved with the origin of life in the universe somehow (that is how these sorts of stories usually end) but hopefuly it was going to be something a bit more original than it was them all along. The Novusi had interstellar capable ships. Just not capable of FTL. Eli says near the end of s2e18 that their ships won’t reach their destination planet for another ~200 years. So, yeah, the ship by necessity would have to be generational. Interstellar as it’s between stars. Intergalactic is between galaxies. As for the Stone’s QEC consciousness transference at seeming real-time in addition to a theoretical temporal dilating effect of the Destiny’s FTL method? It’s unluckily that the this would work with the Stone’s for both in and out of FTL. The simplest explanation is the best. Like with most SciFi, the Destiny’s method of FTL, allows it to travel in relative real-time. Meaning that for each minute spent in FLT on board the Destiny, one minute is spent for people here on Earth, simultaneously. It’s suggested that the Destiny is 50 million years old, based off of the design of the Destiny’s Gate.

This theory is great but there's no way the writers would have come up with this before the show aired. I really love this theory though and it would make a lot of sense if this were the case. The Stargate universe was always filled with humans, humanoids and earth like planets and while they did try to explain that somewhat, this theory would make it a lot better. It would have been a cool conclusion to the Universe show if it turned out that the fifth race was also the first race, not to mention a huge time paradox and WTF moment.

Your explanation on the PAYLOAD is not what he meant. He meant destiny will release her payload when she reaches the beginning of time, somehow pig-backing on the big-bang to distribute all the terraforming building-block materials needed for the formation of earth-like planets, to allow planets on the goldilock zone to become like earth, not that Destiny and the seed ships are sprinkling seeds on planets ass they pass by. Now, that still makes no sense, because all the necessary materials for life, are abundant on the universe, as well as gravity and the laws of physics (which is what allows the formation of planets in the first place), so I don't see how any payload carried by destiny to the begging of time would make any difference, she can't possibly be carrying all the hydrogen and oxygen (necessary for water) that now exists on the universe in her payload, neither all the protons and electrons needed to form them.

Time dilation is relative, and by that I mean in relation to the speed of another. Everything in the universe is traveling at a speed from whatever the hell is the center of the universe is, so an astronaut travels a little faster than we do on Earth, and the earths solar system being further out on an arm might be traveling faster from that center than a planet system closer to the center of our galaxy so we experience time slower than they do, and our galaxy could be moving faster from the dead center than another galaxy so there is more time discrepancy. They could have started to evolve the same time we did (even perhaps from the same seed stock) but are evolving at a faster rate because of time dilation and would seem much more advanced than we are. The questions I have are. What if a planet were traveling at 1/2 the speed of light faster than we are? Is their speed of light 1/2 of what ours is? Or does their light travel "faster" from point A to point B just because their time moves faster than ours? From a planet moving away from the center of the universe at 1/2 the speed of light, would light shined at the center of the universe seem to move faster than light shined away from that center from their point of view, or ours? Could time and the speed of light only be relative to the "local to you who are measuring it" gravity well? So when you are far enough away from any and all gravity, does time act differently? If so the speed of light could be faster or slower meaning the universe could be larger or smaller than we think.

Thats probably an unanswerable question. If the ship were traveling back in time with each jump then they would end up behind the destiny that was behind them. I don't think the destiny itself traveled back in time because of the wormhole in star. they bumped into themselves because of the jump cloe programed making them go back to the planet rush was on.

I can't believe how much debate this has caused, I love the Stargate fandom so much. But yeah I'm super keen on the idea of Eli leading his people to "meet god or save the universe". And maybe deploy some form of payload that triggers the initial inflation of the universe. The last tech the ancients were developing was there "Manhattan project". Rodney says the zero point cajigger could have potentially destroyed the universe. Fortunately it only blew up a solar system 😐 The time travel thing stems from the stones could be non relativistic and do I feel have the capability to spookily communicate at long distances (possibly across reference frames) however for the user continuity of consciousness is maintained and they are non the wiser their consciousness has traveled through space and time. Perhaps the stones lock to the reference frames of the users, who knows, but with entanglement and the ability to send data at super luminal speed it's all doable (we assume this is possible in the SG franchise based on tech we have witnessed (I may and no doubt will be corrected if I'm wrong) 😂❤️ As for the gate itself in one of the 'Air' episodes' when rush goes nuts when they try to dial earth I think. The dude who gets his legs mashed says "the ninth chevron is an unknown equation, possibly factoring in some kind of 'time' distance equation. I'm eidetic so I'm pretty sure I'm right he says that. The gate and stones are the only link to earth both of which could (and have been shown to be) a bit wibbly wobbly in the temporal department (especially when the gate is pressed beyond basic design use tau star etc). Now with that covered we know there is something 'funky' with destinies FTL drive "it's FTL but not through hyperspace" - rush. Now the ability to exceed C (through some crazy ancient Clarke tech) "powered by the stars themselves etc". Is the ability to be able to 'steadily' in its little FTL jumps outrun causality (which I imagine in the SG universe, and possibly the real one) may trickle backwards. Hense the insane length of destinies mission to reach the CMB or whatever. We know in twin destinies the crew were split by a "freak of physics" -eli and sent back a few thousand years and flurished (and if I do remember correctly did survive and become a sunlight space faring race). Now we also know the testiment and the Novens and Futurans split 'ideologically', it's natural to assume that the 2000 year jump backwards was already potentially millions of years ago in the context of the whole universe (including milky way Pegasus and all of that) also we know that the ancients arrived from a distant galaxy and nobody knows where they originally came from. As a final thought "whoever controls destiny , controls the fate of all things". Please feel free to reply or ask anything or even friend me up on FB. Thanks so much if you've made it to the bottom of this Tome. I hope you've enjoyed reading it as I have trying to get it straight in my own noodle 😂😆🙂😐😩🤯

Hi About the "communication stones". What if they (the stones) just remember all information that is happend to the persons-the persons that was in contact with this stones in the past and Daniel and Walla "just" see but also feel the exact same what those people have see+feel in the past-"now" in present. If the stones would have such ability, than every one who would touch them-would live through the same and it would than look like that all is happening in real time. All to work, to exist need time, also the ORI war against our galaxie and even if it looks like thats is happening after a few months, maybe in the ORI galaxie is passed much much more time. Sadly I can´t explain good in english, because mi english is still a bit poor. I see a way that the Destiny actually can coming from the crews future to the ancients past. It´s very difficult to explain. Just imagine...that Destiny - one of the Destinys version is coming to Earth in our past with the crew from the future on board, after some time the Destiny from his past is coming to Earth with the crews progeny = ancients. I would´t say either that the destiny is go back in time, but...maybe the humans from earth was teleported through space and time to the Destinys board. They must still evolving, but...they have all the time to it. It is maybe a paradox. I don´t think so, but maybe this theory is possible. Maybe the "communication stones" are connect through space and time.

Atlantis would need an incredibly powerful portable power source to achieve this. Something along the lines of project arcturus since it took an entire planet made out of naquadria for a normal wormhole connection, even 3 zpms may not be close to this since you have to factor in the size/mass of atlantis along with the distance. And we know how dangerous arcturus is. I think a better way would be to use a black hole as the power source like they did for supergates. As for stuff to send, with a ten second connection I would have an asgard core loaded on a wheeled pallet or better yet onto a puddle jumper pushed through the gate as soon as it opened, nothing else would be needed. With the core hooked up to the destiny's power source they could produce everything they would need even replacement batteries since the destiny cant fully recharge, along with making food, clothes, medicines, weapons or parts for weapons, parts for ships, repair drones etc. And the puddle jumper (which would be a really tight fit in the gate room if it can fit) would aid in exploration. They could even send as many replacement personnel as they want with a ten second connection. Just use a wraith culling beam or similar to sweep up all the people you want and store them and send the device through the gate. It may even be possible to store larger stuff this way.

really quickly the novas people had escaped on huge colony ships not at Ftl but on sub lights the novas people that destiny saved would be dropped off at the destination of the colony ships which will be in a few hundred years also the planet was destroyed by a rogue black hole that had entered the solar system also why do you think the blue berry aliens are obsessed with destiny

Yeah I screwed up that part. The downside of being live.

@@TheStargateGuy you didn't answer my question why do you think the blue berry aliens are so obsessed with destiny i mean destiny is to an extent more advanced than them relatively speaking

@@TheStargateGuy and also i know that stargate universe was cancelled but what the crew could have done was went into cryo-sleep but only till they got to the edge of the galaxy however on a cause to the nearest star this would replenish the reserves and also make it to its a 100% grantee that they would get threw to the next galaxy as long as they could survive one battle

Not all of the novans were wiped out. They had built space ships and left their planet right before the black hole and such rendered their planet uninhabitable.
