The muffler is functional... It prevents the rear bumper from acting as a parachute (holding air). The muffler acts almost as a diffuser.

@@skykao1197 7 months late to this comment, but I own an M2 (same interior) and the backseat room is shockingly good for the size of this car. I'm 5'5 (under "average" I guess) and I fit very comfortably behind myself. I've also had a 5'9 friend in the front passenger seat and a 5'6 friend behind him, and there was sufficient leg room (neither knees touching anything, but it needed a bit of coordination/optimizing for the 2 of them to "get it right"). Hope this helps.

I have bought an M2 comp myself and can't wait for it to be ready for me to pick it up at the dealer. I have given it a test drive, dealer teased into m4 comp with a massive discount, ie. at the same price as the m2c, but m2c clearly won it for me. I have driven both. I have seen tons of videos of m2c, but this one is by far my most favorite one. Have seen it like ten times or so. You guys really deserve a gold medal!

Christmas wish came true! M2 comp review is an awesome video. I’m surprise those winter wheels looks really good. Not a fan of the stock wheels. I would definitely spec it with manual no moonroof and executive pkg for the tech and heated seats + steering wheel.

Keep up the amazing work. What I’ve heard is that they had to switch to the M3/M4 engine because they couldn’t get the old one to pass the new EU emissions tests. First time those emissions tests have had a positive effect for petrolheads.

Hey guys, you know that wireless Apple car play thing, well you can change your audio without having to turn it off. Open control center (the swipe up/right swipe down if you’re on a X/Xs, then click the little radial button on the music/KZbin audio play/pause button, you can deselect your car audio there, and it’ll stay connected but play through your phone speakers. Hope this helps 👍

@@tractorback76 With the virus my mileage is much lower than I would have liked, at about 8,000 now. I got a super speeder ticket within weeks of ownership, so that's always a concern. Entry and exit is a little hard work compared with an SUV say, if you're a large build guy like me. And I miss some features from my last car like active-cruise-control, cooled and nappa leather seats. But it's otherwise been faultless. It's engine and gearbox is a masterpiece of quality engineering. It handles superbly and I think I may get 20k out of the stock tires which work superbly. But it is noticeably heavy compared with my old (opposed-six) Cayman S, so although it feels planted, it doesn't feel as agile as the Porsche; nor as special, as driving a Porsche always feels like an event, not just a drive. It's still good value for money, but a little anonymous on the road to anyone not in the know. I need more comfort and practicality moving forwards, but also want character too. A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon or Ford Bronco Wildtrak would fit that bill. But I have a Tesla Cybertruck with Tri-motor and full self-driving option on order. I've tested and ridden a few electric vehicles now for my KZbin channel, and sound aside EV is clearly the future. A bullet-proof truck that can carry six, with a 500 mile range and acceleration like the M2C - that'll do for my next toy!

Nice. It is interesting to see the difference for city and suburbian residents. Is that because traffic is so bad in toronto that there are a lot of accidents or is the rate higher to discourage owning a car in the city?

Great video. As a fellow KZbinr I had my 2016 M2 for 3 years and posted a lot of long term reviews on it. I love the M2 Comp and had a stick shift car on order but big price difference between this and a used original M2. You can buy a 2016 M2 manual for $40k here in the U.S. where a new M2 Comp will run you $61-65k depending on options and more with dealer mark ups. I just sold my M2 and a couple of other cars to buy a Mclaren 570s but I will add an M2 Comp to the collection soon, but it will be a manual.

Thanks for reviewing the M2 Competition. Our local dealer doesn't have one, but my wife and I tested the 2018 M2 back-to-back against the 2019 M240i xDrive and ended up ordering the M240i mainly for the xDrive and the fact that the suspension was more settled and less jouncy than the M2. Drove one of these on track a few weeks back and was totally impressed by the power delivery, it pushes so smoothly even from 3k rpm. Very good grip coming out of tight corners aswell. Only complains i could have is that it feels alittle heavy and its not as direct on the steering as a Cayman GT4 or any cayman tbh...
