I don't necessarily disagree with this as a sentiment for most Americans, but here in Texas - it really isn't seen as big at all. I drive a 2020 F250 (as so many Texans do) As such, my wife driving an Escalade (I have this one order to replace her current one) feels "smallish".

My family bought a brand new 2014 Escalade Platinum ESV about 6 years ago and it’s crazy how far the Escalade has come. To be fair that 2014 was the last year of the 3rd generation, but it didn’t even have push button start or Bluetooth audio on a car that stickered at near $90k. This thing is a spaceship in comparison. I’m impressed with how Cadillac has kept this so iconic yet managed to make it modern. (Also glad we got rid of the Escalade as it wasn’t very reliable vehicle. )

One thing these Escalade reviews keep overlooking is the space in the rear seats. Big SUVs appeal to big families; the Escalade ESV especially has massssive room in the 3rd row. That is a feature the BMW and Mercedes sorely lack on, and is also the reason why I’m getting an Escalade (to comfortably fit 3 kids in the back).

I think GM should have added more chrome to the Escalade. It just isn’t ostentatious enough anymore like it was with the 2nd and 3rd generations. At least they got the interior right with the curved OLED screens and nice leather and wood trim.
