@@ehsanzolfaghari2711 Definitely. The CTS had a nice interior but only in higher trims. The CT5 is just on another level. When you look at the base CT5 it’s clear how much work went into it over the CTS. The standard 10.2-inch touchscreen, the new analog gauges are MUCH more modern and look so much better, the CUE system has been dramatically improved, more standard safety tech, interior is more upscale with all the leather stitching & upgraded materials, and the exterior design is the perfect blend of elegant and sporty cohesiveness. The car lights up as you approach it. The ambient lighting is also beautiful at night. The 10-speed is buttery smooth and also feels smarter than you. It always knows which gear it wants to be in. Much better than the 6-speed that was in the CTS.

After looking at the new Corvette and their new full-size SUVs, most of their other products (Namely the Silverado and their smaller SUVs) just don’t have the level of thought and detail to their interiors and exteriors compared to those models because they look and feel so old. I hope that some of the thoughtful innovations that have been baked into this new Escalade (As well as their other SUVs and the Corvette) get passed down to their more affordable SUVs and most certainly, their refreshed pickup counterparts.

For a while now, GM has been a few gems amongst a sea of garbage. I think their problem is that even after cutting half their brands a decade ago, they are still way too big. There’s just so much waste and redundancy keeping them from offering a well rounded portfolio. GMC and Buick are both still redundant divisions. GM should eliminate those brands, ditch all of Chevrolet’s current lineup (minus the Camaro and Corvette) and replace it with the cars/crossovers from Buick and the trucks from GMC.

@@mybro727 Lexus vehicles are infinitely more reliable and efficient than this junk, the hybrid system that Toyota uses in their hybrids including Lexus is more technologically advanced than anything on that any other car brand have, is more robust, efficient and reliable too. The Cadillac is not more technologically advanced by any means, and with these screens and leather, the piece of junk won't make it past 100,000 miles. The junk here is the Cadillac and all American cars in general, they don't last, they don't improve and just keep selling the same trash over and over again because people keep buying their junk. Next time try harder on making logical points on why this is better than what the Japanese car brands do, specially Toyota, which has proven to be superior in every aspect compared to what Americans car brands do. Or better don't try anything kid, with those 2 comments you posted you have proven that you don't know what you are talking about, go figure how bad this machine in the video is, how overpriced it and that is a money pit, nothing justifies the price of this trash.

Good job GM. Nice to know if you put your mind to it, you can deliver a superior product. You should have done this like 25 years ago. Still, better late than never I suppose.

I hit 'like' as soon as I saw Cake on the center display. Bravo! Concerning the OLED burn-in issue, there is a function on my LG TV to reduce burn-in and ghosting. If it were my vehicle, I'd make sure to change up the screen displays every now and then. I'd also keep the brightness levels down. The black levels of OLED displays are truly amazing.

Honestly, when you think of Cadillac, the Escalade comes to mind. Cadillac’s issue wasn’t nor is the Escalade. It’s the other vehicles they produce.

Yeah, they just need to relegate those alphabet soup designs to Buick and start producing more quality cars like this with proper names that carry some weight. The generation that didn't want to drive an El Dorado because that's what their grandpa drove is gone.

I must say, this is the most amazing modern dashboard, OLED is an amazing technology, I have in use a few gadgets with this technology, never had any problem with burning.
@Dowlphin3 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure they didn't completely get rid of all tech-typical issues. It's not a good comparison, but the first generations were so bad, I had a really expensive MP3 player whose OLED, after a couple years, became unreadably dark, somewhat excepting the dots that were not used for the recharge screen graphics, and considering how rarely I recharged the thing, that was quite shocking, too. Also, TFTs shocked me a couple years ago. I bought an Eizo and had to check five to find one without trapped dirt in the panel or massive backlight bleed and then learned it has short-term burn-in, and coming from a high brightness CRT monitor that did not have noticeable levels of of it, was quite disappointing.

10:43 Solution: Buy it used. After 4 years, the price difference vs. Chevy/GMC disappears due to the faster depreciation rate of luxury vehicles. Same story with Toyota Land Cruiser vs. Lexus LX570.
@92ASC3 жыл бұрын
Not really apples to apples considering the Land Cruiser costs nearly the same amount as the LX570 from the start and they really don't depreciate much either. It's a different story with GM products though since they are a dime a dozen, and I'll be really curious to see how all this tech holds up after 5-7 years when these will be all over the used market.

14:23..."Definitely something you're gonna want to lease...or have a million mile warranty" This says it all about GM. Affluent customers don't care about GM's poor quality. They won't hold onto a car long enough to experience it breaking down. Brand new: Status symbol....8 years old: NOT a status symbol. It's just an 8 year old used car. It's the people who buy these from the affluent who should be weary. You get this thing to 10 years old with 150k miles...it will be a nightmare.

They could program the display to constantly morph color schemes slightly, and eliminate burnin on an ultra amoled. But. Customers would complain. But really, they used LG POled for the displays (harder to prevent burn-in than the Samsung ultra amoled, why use the Samsung stereo but not Samsung screens?) Also, why is this superior Escalade not really attractive on the exterior? The outside of the current Navigator is definitely better looking than this generation Escalade. But neither of those are as fantastically attractive as the last generation Escalade (or a black last generation Tahoe LTZ).
@markmiller32793 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they'll look crappy in no time. I had an LG V30 that was unusable in 18 months. Admittedly, I used it heavily, but it wasn't sitting on one thing. LG needs to solve this badly.

I actually didn't know burn in was a thing with OLEDs compared to plasmas! I have an AMOLED Pixel 4XL and have owned AMOLED phones since the first Samsung Galaxy S. I know they have blotches you can see in the dark and used to not be sharp due to the pixel array they had. That said, I am so glad to see the physical buttons there below the screen. It looks and finishes the premium touch of the screen setup. This is what I hope luxury car manufacturers don't overlook like Mercedes did with the new S Class, that buttons and knobs elevate class and luxury by adding trim and material diversity.
