Fun fact…If the Jedi order would have accepted Revan’s philosophy when he returned to the order with his enlightened understanding of the force Revan would have implemented Luke’s ideas many generations earlier across the order reshaping them completely. Revan would then have gone down as the man to revive the Sith through teaching Bane of the rule of two through holocrons and he would have made the Jedi greater than ever with a greater connection to the light.

Since Palpatine had his people actively try to purge history of the Jedi and the Sith so that he could reframe things around him, It took Luke’s NJO awhile to piece things together from old holocrons and texts and local records and tales. The Legends EU books ‘Jedi vs Sith:the Essential Guide to the Force’ and the semi in-universe canon legends (also Legends EU) given in ‘the Jedi Path’ and ‘Book of Sith’ compiles all of it. But according to Lucas’ in-universe explanation, what we do know about the Old Republic era and afterwards is given to us as recorded via R2-D2 and C-3PO old memory banks and the Journal of the Whills, with all of the Expanded Material beyond Lucas’ canon (the Original and Prequel trilogies) being dramatizations based on that lore. At least that’s what the man said. LucasFilm/Disney can bite me.

I have no doubts. Revan was one of the most famous people in galactic history and everyone knew his name. It's also confirmed by Darth Bane's studies that Revan remained a prominent figure among both Jedi and Sith. If I was to compare it to a real world analogue, Luke learning about Revan would be like us learning about the ancient Egyptian pharaohs in the sense that we don't know every single detail of their lives but we know of their great works and historical importance (especially fitting as the gap would be similar as well, 3,500+ years). Fascinating stuff

Luke and his New Jedi Order recover a Lot of holocrons, both from Jedi and Sith. Master Tionne Solusar was the Head of this field in Academy (Search holocrons, read and pass the teachings to the students). She love to create music about the hostory of the Jedi. Luke knew a lot of the Old Republic era and Revan.

Revan had Bastila Shan as his anchor to the light even though Vitiate/Valkorion/Tanabrae corrupted him. Luke being a twin has a natural bond with Leah as his anchor to the light too. Anakin's too much of an emo to use Padme as his anchor. As for Jacen&Jaina, that's an exception since Abeloth corrupted Jacen as well his tortured time with the Vongs.

I like how Revan influenced both the Sith and Jedi in the far future. The Jedi are fascinating, they was their own worst enemies (atleast before Luke) because the Sith was always born from them. Despite claiming to be open minded and open to knew knowledge they was quick to shy away and reject anything that even began to question their philosophy and dogma, even labeling any Force Organization not their own to be either full on Dark Side, Grey or one step away from the Dark Side and could be seen as the representation of the Light Side of the Force, with it being intolerant to anything that wasn't the Light Side. I kinda wish they'd been more Light Side Organizations to explore this, because sometimes I wonder if the Pius Dea had a Force Sensitive Faction given their zealous actions.

Yes. But it really comes from within yourself. Mastering and understanding your light and darker selves to find personal peace and balance. To understand and overcome your darker self, knowing between right and wrong, and choosing to do the right thing even at your own expense if need be. As well as personal emotional development and basic self knowledge and discipline. And family, relationships and our emotional bonds and development (and failings and lose) are vital parts of that. The Sith outright despised the light and the Jedi as weak and doing the right thing selflessly. Seeing the Force as only a tool to get them what they believe should be their’s by right based on might makes right and survival of the fittest, which is to dominate all, while seeing personal relationships, kindness and compromises as weaknesses, while drawing only from their dark emotions to empower them in pursuit of their goals. And the Jedi at various times during their conflicts post the Second Schism, rejecting emotional development, introspection and personal relationships, seeing those as paths to the Darkside as a general almost separate thing, while waiting for a Chosen One to fix their problems by destroying the Sith completely since the Jedi Code frowns upon things like extermination or finding some form of middle ground. Both sides being weaker and half blind for that.

I think revan mastered the cosmic force He was able to guide events that ultimately brought balance He understood that in order to achieve ultimate power, bias against the dark side was a limitation but also power is nothing without purpose The highest values of both Jedi and sith I actually think this makes revan a better leader than Luke Luke on the other hand is more in tune with the living force Unlike revan , I don't think Luke really has any grand design like revan but I'd say that's more a matter of their circumstances By that same token I think where revan shaped events to achieve balance in the force, Luke achieved it himself If revan can draw from both dark and light, Luke makes them one I.e. his emerald lightning ability is representative of the unified living force drawing from both energies In a duel I think Luke wins, I think hes more powerful in the moment but I think revan has a better understanding of the nature of the force and would be a better teacher

I would love to know what caused Revan to leave a Holocron when he was a Sith that Darth Bane used later on. When Revan regained his memories, why didn't he go back to destroy it? Also, in what in the Forces name made him figure out and create the Thought Bomb😅... Mind some of it can be up to his dual personality nature that even was further messed up during his imprisonment by Vitiate. I assume the Thought Bomb came about after his first interactions with Vitiate and his homeworld.

Clearly you didn’t read the book Once revan got his memory back his priority was to try and defeat Vitaite but was betrayed and imprisoned while having his psyche being messed up on top of that

It was because Vitiate was so much of a threat, Revan focused on him and the Sith Empire. And I think it's implied he learned the Thought Bomb from Malachor V's Trayus Academy; the KotOR II loading screens basically say Revan explored the Trayus Academy for a long period of time. He did this well before the Battle of Malachor V at the end of the Mandalorian Wars, and considering how Revan scoured everything for lore in the Force before he met Vitiate, this is keeping in his character before KotOR.

Revan was the greatest hero of his time but heroes often fall hard. Luke almost shared his fate but was stronger. Revan had more in common with Anakin, war corrupted them both and both were enslaved by the Sith.

Honestly Revan started things off so I believe he achieved enlightement first but on the other hand, Luke followed that concept and pushed it further to achieved what no other Jedi could pull off at that time. That reason is why Legends Luke was extremely OP and the same can be said for Disney Luke.

I could be wrong, but I would say Luke would have the upper hand over Revan. Not because of the differing eras, but that even though Luke was a master he never felt he could master anything entirely because there was always room to improve and be better than he was. For Revan it seemed he placed a limit on his ideas so he can only achieve as much as his mind would allow him and think he mastered what he wanted instead of looking at it as a stepping stone.

Revan was very powerful knowledged skilled smart cunning wise and had great understanding of both side of the force but he pales to the ancient jedi before him such as ood bnar who tanked over 10 supernovas possessed all the knowledge of the jedi library on ossuss which had thousands of jedi holocroms artifacts lightsabers scrolls ood bnar mastered all force abilities skills and his expecies had a natural connection to the force the ancient jedi also taught luke and Leia force abilities like force light force harmony battle meditation force sever and how to archive oneness others jedi of that time that were extremely powerful were Voss, Orr , and nomir sunrender, luke managed to recuperate some of those ancient jedi teaching to rebuild the jedi order but most were lost when exar kun temple was burned infact the knowledged exar kun got from those teaching made him beyond powerful, the jedi of revan era lack of knowledge like the prequels era and there's many sources in star wars that said "knowledge is power"
