I think the righteous rage/indignation is more of what the force wielder focuses on while imprinting upon their crystal, not a bleeding process per se. If Dooku didn't join the Sith where they bleed their crystals he probably would have orange.

I think that if it ever got to the point of Dooku defeating Sidius and taking over as leader of the Sith, he would have some soul searching to do. Up to that point he would have sacrificed his decency to obtain power, power that he in the back of his mind probably still believes he can use for good. As long as he is still climbing, I think he can effectively trick himself to keep going darker without killing his hope, but once he is at the top he will have to confront the question of what were all these sacrifices actually for? Depending on how that soul searching ends up, I definitely think that him transitioning to wielding an orange saber after that would be a possibility. There is definitely also the possibility that he will realize that he has fully become what he hated, and I'm not sure what that does to a person, but I doubt it would result in an orange saber. Maybe there would be a quest for redemption arc instead, trying to turn back to the light.

Force judgment is only in legends at the moment but it’s a pretty good comparison I just see the orange saber as a darkside version of the purple saber both have the light and the dark. Mace is cemented in the lightside with the purple and the dark jedi seem to be cemented in the drakside but still have a strong pull to the light and like you said their darkness has some righteousness to it

Righteous rage for all it's euphemistic wording - is STILL an aspect of the DARK SIDE. Pride though is the worst sin of all - pride is what got Satan booted from Heaven. Pride is most dangerous of all emotions. As someone who hit rock bottom in life because of it - I can attest to this. Humility and gratitude are possibly the most useful emotions one can constantly feel and still build a durasteel solid foundation on.

As a Jedi he had a blue lightsaber. It would have been interesting to see if he bled his lightsaber while he was deviating from the Jedi order. Culminating in his lightsaber becoming purple upon his leaving of the order all together. To then have the first appearance of his lightsaber being fully red by attack of the clones. We really need a dooku film, akin to solo.

I've always viewed Orange Lightsabers to be representative of being The ultimate form of balance with the force; Yellow representing jedi sentinels and their ability to balance both the combative and Philosophical side of the force Combine that with red And you get Orange which represents their ability to Draw upon the dark side of the force for combat purposes or Philosophical Purposes to counter act or reverse engineer the thinking of their opponent with empathy and logic Which would be the appropriate color to represent a Grey jedi Sentinel, a bendu je'daii and je'daii assassin!💯😁😉👍

I always understood as you have explained. Dooku lost himself in the pursuit of gaining the power to create a just world. The path of righteous fury can easily take one all the way down the path of darkness. This means those Dark Jedi must be extremely disciplined and dedicated to their cause. I think it would be cool that if/when Mace Windu emerges he has an orange saber.

I believe I heard, red sabers are made from red synthetic crystal. Where as real saber crystals may be different shades of orange or different colors maybe? When bled. Idk, this is just my hypothesis.

This is getting confusing because I always associated Purple with a "dark/ grey" Jedi. How does Purple compare to Orange?

I always saw it like: Blue - jedi who uses the force like a tool. They often focus in combat and tend to use the force to push and pull, like to broaden their tool box. Think of Anikin or Obi wan. Both were more practical people who often relied on strategy and equipment to get the job done rather than purely the force. Green - Jedi who look in a more spiritual way at the force. They often tend to let their feeling guide them and meditate first over a problem before acting. Think about Yoda, Qui-gon or ashoka. They all rarely make extensive plans or use many tools but rather let the force or their feeling guide them. Those two colors come out when someone is imbuing the crystal with pure lightsided ideals. The jedi order in the prequels is banning almost any contact with the dark side or things that could lead there. Which is why jedi almost only get green or blue for their colors. And its not to far fetched even in the real world there are those two kinds of people. The ones who look at the world very spiritual and decide out of their feelings or instinct. Often choosing the way that feels better rather than the purely logical one. And then there are those who go very methodical and calculating to their decisions. Such people tend to be analytical and do choose the logical way of doing things. Both are great in their own right. purple - Basically the Blue one but little more disillusioned with the world. One who had experienced sad things. Of coarse there are still people who can still stay entirely good in their actions and never compromise their ideals (and so still get blue or green) but there are also those who change a litte bit. They may choose "tools" of the dark side to achieve their over all good goal. They will react more harsh, they know how evil is done maybe they did it once them selves but now follow a way of making it better. Think of an ex-criminal who is now helping others to get out of the hole he once was in himself. They walk a verry shallow path and sometimes do things that others would view as very grey area. But still manage to not slip into the criminality again. In a way a person like that is wiser than others because they have seen both sides. Yet they often have to carry a special package most of us wouldn't like to carry. The user of purple may rescue himself into an overly sens of duty or decide on very strict logical rules. Think here of Mace Windu he did everything for the Republic. In a way it was borderline obsessive. He also was very strict with everything and everyone including himself. Yellow - Basically the purple but for the Green ones. The difference is again the way how they view the force and how they make decisions. The blue and purple ones view the force like one more tool in their portfolio they know the force can help with almost anything but in a difficult situation they will rely on physical things first. their Training, equipment and use the force mainly to supplement this. The green and Yellow ones do trust the force and decide from their feelings. So with the criminal analogy a yellow user would not mainly follow strict rules or logical decisions but act out of a feeling. They may have done something wrong and their guild is keeping them on the right way. Or they just couldn't stand to do something bad. Except if they don't something worse would likely happen. So they would resort to act in a bad way and use the dark side only so much to keep the grater bad in check. So they too are able to use the dark side yet somehow withstand from falling to it or overly use it. This is also more or less the ideal Jedi because green ones trust in the force first like a jedi should and the Yellow ones do that too but know the darkside yet do battle it and don't fall for it. The ideal jedi should probably be wise to know light and dark yet serve the light and trust first and foremost in the force. It would be logical to let the templeguards carry Yellow as a symbol and a role model to a perfect jedi. Think of Ashoka who later uses a yallowish green after she became disillusioned over the clone wars. Also think about Rey who was from the beginning using the force out of her feeling and inate talent. She let the force guide her right from the start but was confronted with very much suffering and darkness all around her. She even used force lightning accidental. In my opinion no Color is better or worse in particular. And the Colors do not define the whole person. They only give a hint at the deeper motivations. A blue user can still try to meditate before acting. Because he maybe was thought so by his Master. Or a green user try to solve much via tools first. For the completion: Red - Well we all know that bleeding leads to this color. White - its the cleansing of red crystals. Orange - Well i believe its a half bleed crystal. I always believed that the Crystals had an alignment with the light side and some kind of "personality". Yoda tells the younglings in the Clonewars episode the gathering "the heart of the lightsaber, the crystal is. focuses the force from the jedi, it does.". He specifically says "the force from the jedi" which suggests that the living force/ the soul/ the Thoughts and feelings of the jedi become focused by the crystal and ultimately become the blade of the lightsaber. The crystals resonate with the force while they grow over millennia. Since the force itself is generated by all living beings it resonates with all that happens in the galaxy and each crystal gets a diffrent faction of that. This is why specific crystals resonate with specific personalities and goals. Usually the crystal and jedi who choose each other align very good in their goals. And so after being imprinted by the jedi the crystal gets a certain color and retains those wishes and goals. If the wileder of the saber drastically differs from those goals the crystal is resisting them. Most crystals were imprinted relatively short times by the jedi who wields them. But some crystals are used by multiple people with overlaping goals so this alignement becomes stronger. Like for example the Darksaber which was time and time again used with the goal of fighting for and ruling over Mandalore. As din djarin did't have that goal and even wnated to gift the blade to bo katan without being defeated it resisted him so strongly that it became so heavy he barely could use it effectively in a fight. Anakins Saber could become an other example of an old blade which went through multiple hands with similar goals. Anyway crystals natural alligned with the light side will resist in focusing the force for a darksider like a sith. The way arround this is to bend it to their will. To force it to do what you want. You basically need to "break" its will. This is done by channeling dark emotions in it until it succumbs and starts to bleed. With this a person who is going to use the dark side to a large extent but still excuses it with a good goal will not be able to bleed a crystal to the full extend. So this person would end up with a color near red but not entirely. Which seems to be orange if Jedi:Survivors Dagan can be taken as an example. I believe Orange is just like red and white an common color for all colors. Otherwise if it would just work for yellow then purple would be for blue (this would indicate that Mace Windu bleed his crystal which i don't believe) but what about Green? Green+Red=Yellow so this won't fit.

i think everybody gets too caught up in the emotional nuances of the force; force powers shouldnt be light or dark in and of themselves its HOW they are used that should determine this... while i dont deny that emotions play a definitive role in why and when certain aspects of the force manifest themselves MOST force powers are objectively neither light nor dark in nature.

I feel like orange blades can be both people that use the darkside out of fury for a righteous cause and those that dance between the line of Jedi/Sith. Look at Cal's blade in the Jedi Games compared to Dagan's for instance. Dagan's is more blood orange, while Cal's is pure orange. I wonder if the tint of the orange is an indication of what type of user the blade belongs to

It's pretty simple: Dooku may have believed that his rage was righteous, but it was actually just plain evil. He was being manipulated by sidious as well. Sidious believed that the flaws in the jedi order are flaws in the light side, when reality is that the flaws in the jedi order that cause Dooku to leave are flaws in Yoda's direction for the jedi, not that the light side is flawed itself. This key detail makes Dooku's rage against the jedi misplaced, and not righteous since what he believes to be true is fundamentally incorrect.

One thing to add is that Dooku was an absolute tyrant towards his own people on Serreno and robbed them all blind during the war, which was uncovered during the Bad Batch series. Dooku amassed a massive war chest of wealth at the expense of his own people in pursuit of his selfish desires for superiority. Someone like that definitely is more in line with the pride and greed of the Sith than the stance of “the ends justify the means” that an orange-wielding Dark Jedi would adhere to.

Well, he was the antagonist of the movie where he was first introduced. And with George it was basically red for antagonists and green/blue for protagonists. The only one getting a pass from this was Samuel L. Jackson. Because he is Samuel L. Jackson. In Legends there have been all sorts of colors for ages, I don´t know if Dark Forces 2 is the first depiction of orange lightsabers but that´s back in 1997. In text medium, it´s probably way older. To now make it truly matter all of a sudden what color someone has is kind of ridiculous. It used to be a tool to show the audience who the bad guy is. I just go with what looks the coolest in games like The Force Unleashed and Fallen Order. And that´s usually some sort of purple or red crystal. I could care less what the colors represent, the characters will show me through their actions if I´m gonna root for them or not. At least if they are well written. I mean, isn´t the High Republic era supposed to be sort of a mishmash of colors? Or the Old Republic for that matter. Let the story be your guide, not what the colors of certain weapons may or may not represent.

In short: Orange means righteous fury. So shouldn't Dooku have an orange blade? Well, no. See, Dooku may have claimed that his actions were for the right reasons, and there may be some truth to his claims. But if you look more closely at all his actions, you would see that Dooku is really doing all this for himself, not for others. like how thanos claims that wiping out half the universe is for the greater good, but if you look more closely, you would see he is really doing it so people can see he was right.

I’m still not sure if degan light saber was orange or not. At fi st I thought I t was orange but then watching the vader fight and seeing his lightsaber has the same hue and also noticing all the lightsabers have a different hue than the first game makes me think that degan is using a red lightsaber

yeah it looks more red to me. Fallen Order and Survivor's blade colors are a little weird sometimes. Maybe it's just me, but I've always felt that the green blades in both games look more yellow green than pure green, for example.

Ok now I know that Yaddle is depicted with a green lightsaber in canon, but if the story about her century of imprisonment were to be true in canon then her having her lightsaber produce an orange lightsaber would make perfect sense, because after enduring isolation for a century and seeing the state of the planet at the hands of a terrible tyrant then Yaddle could very well feel righteous fury as she helps the oppressed people of that world overthrow her captors. Once the world begins to rebuild she returns to Coruscant, restored her kyber crystal back to green and is granted the rank of Jedi Master for having endured imprisonment without succumbing to the dark side. In my head Yaddle having an orange lightsaber, if only for a brief amount of time, works with her character during the story “Yaddle’s Tale: The One Below.”

People often conveniently forgot that Anakin was power-hungry and arrogant. They blame his fall completely on Padme or rather his love for her but I feel he would have fallen without Padme eventually. So, yeah, like Dooku he wouldn't qualify for an orange lightsaber.

I agree 100%. People always want to blame Padme, or the Jedi Council, or Obi-Wan, or Palpatine... But truth be told Anakin was always pretty power hungry and unstable and was never a good fit for the Jedi. It might not have happened as early without Padme, but sooner or later some situation would come up that would cause Anakin to want more power and turn to the dark side. He's that kind of guy.

But idk why you don’t think the sith couldn’t all be in hiding when they’ve already almost wiped themselves out completely before in the past. The rule of 2 is pretty important to sith and their power. I think palpatine’s plan and the path anakin takes was going to happen no matter what, as the sith had purposefully put the light side way out of balance by going into hiding for thousands of years….(thank darth bane) explaining the thousand year peace the republic had as well. And all that for it to be re corrected again in return of the Jedi by Luke. It’s all pretty neat storytelling really. I don’t think the force is ever in perfect balance….constantly fluctuating between light n dark.

Thank you! Someone else sees it! I've been thinking there's something wrong with my eyes. I keep seeing Dagan's saber as red. On my TV, it's the same color as Vader's. In the tactical guide, it's clearly red. The in-game orange blade that Cal can use is a different color from Dagan's.

I have my own color interpretations for a story I've been writing. Instead of showing morality or values, I use colors to show combat style. Orange = Dark Mage. Yellow = Balanced Mage. Green = Light Mage. Black = Dark Balance. Gray = True Balance. White = Light Balance. Red = Dark Warrior. Purple = Balanced Warrior. Blue = Light Warrior. Dark/Light do NOT mean evil/good. More like Passion/Dispassion or Offense/Defense Any morality can fall under any color, because real morality is never as clear or obvious as a lightsaber.

Dagan Geras Lightsaber was red, not orange. The Game just has a bad way of depicting the red colours. If you play Cal in New Journey+ with a red blade, it looks exactly the same as Dagans.

I actually think orange is like the “yellow” version of Purple Purple is the traditional color of those connected to the Dark Side, it’s like what happens if a Dark Side adept doesn’t choose to bleed their crystal red. Purple would be the natural color their crystal would choose for them Yellow is for those who have a connection to the Dark Side but resist it, with the desire to eradicate evil, as Jedi Sentinels The most canon example is Rey, as she resists her legacy as a Palpatine and desired to do good Orange I think it’s when a Jedi Sentinel falls to the Dark Side, they partially bleed their Crystal Red to give a connection to the Dark Side, but not enough to fully corrupt it red. Those with Orange would be like Grey Dark Jedi that knows value of both sides of the Force but still are influenced by the Dark Side Dooku fully bleed his Crystal, fully dedicated in being a Sith, although knows value of both sides of the Force, and takes Jedi approach of controlling emotions and controlling the Dark Side within himself Dooku wouldn’t be in the same class as the Orange Saber Wielders, who might neither be Jedi or Sith At least that’s how I feel

The merch at the end of each of these videos is crap. Size is smaller than advertised. The printing is nowhere as nice as the pictures. There is a reason they are ALWAYS on sale. Sweatshirt was tight stretch poly like spandex. Absolute waste of 35 bucks.
