I can agree with Bane's idea that fighting kept Sith strong, but not the execution of dwindling their numbers. They weren't warriors anymore, they were assassin's at best, rats and scavengers at worst, scurrying around in the darkness, hiding in fear of being discovered.

Titles are meaningless when you know your own value, they are just another identify card. And if they would've created a 'stronger' rank (and/or higher), everybody would've forgot about the Darth rank cause there's a better one to attain o0

I think Darth Bane was at least partly wrong, as even he, the architect of the Rule of Two, didn't seem content in following its tenets. Darth Plagueis summed it up well; "what does it say about a generation of Sith that their Lords accepted, even expected, that THEY would not be the one to achieve the Grand Plan, and that all they could really do was place the next Sith, who would further that plan, as far along the path as they could? To simply acknowledge that they would fail; to admit it from the outset, because that was why they'd need an apprentice, was detestable." Darth Bane was among the worst of these. He created the "pick your own replacement" strategy, which basically required him to admit HE wouldn't be the winner, right after hating on the other Sith for not wanting to be the one best, and then even he Saud screw it, and tried to body swap with his own apprentice, because selfish narcissism is a hallmark of the Sith. Their are "evil forces" who can work together, sharing a common goal, and claim victory. There can be people who are born to lead, and others who are content with being cogs in the machine, and if the Sith could have fostered a system of more "know your place", they might have gone farther sooner. Their big problem isn't that they are evil; it's that they are Saturday morning cartoon villain evil, and none of their powerful leadership fostered an idea that those beneath them still matter; still have their place, and their purpose, apart from to kill their betters, and take the prize. It's almost a shame none of the ancient Sith decided to field the massive army of loyal robots, before the Clone Wars era, but then often the only real reason real life evil loses is because they are dumb.

The dark side drives people to do things they wouldn't normally do, we have plenty of examples of the dark side pushing people over the edge, like Anakin with the tuskens being fueled by emotions influenced by the dark side, so it's reasonable that smaller numbers is better for them, especially when trying rebuild and reorganize, do I think 2 is the right number probably not alot of risk there but they are irrational by an in universe reason

I think that competition is necessary but that a duel in front of all other sith should be made so that there are witness to who is stronger and who should take on the mantle of ruler and lead the remaining sith (such as a ranking system or even a tournament). It doesn't make sense that at one point there were multiple jedi and that what a coincidence after the clone wars and the galactic civil war all that remains is Rey of all possible jedi.

I find it quite interesting that the brotherhood of darkness turned out to be so weak compared to their sith counterparts. Mind the distance comparison and how crazy this may sound but I find when I try and adopt the mindset of what I believe to be a “true sith” in my boxing career, I find myself doing worse than if try and be more passive/non aggressive.

Darth Bane was mostly right about the Brotherhood of Darkness’ Sith but both parties were wrong about the Darth title. The title was not need to make the Sith but the power and comment to the dark side, but at the same time it like spreakles on the ice cream sunday of the Sith infighting if you remove it is still there just one less unimportant element of the bigger issue. Exur Kun, Freedon Nadd and even Kaan to degree proves my point.

Two point on the weakness of the Sith of the era of the Brotherhood of Darkness. First weaker sith lords would conspire against the stronger one resulting in weaker members surviving and leaving the order as a whole weaker. The second point is to think of the dark side of the force as a reservoir or power. The more people drinking from the reservoir the less power for each person drinking. The few there are the more power there is for each. These principle issues are what made the Rule of Two work so well culminating in ultimate victory for the Sith.

I feel that Darth Bane was in the most part right as just look at what the rule of two sith accomplished and then look at the brotherhood of darkness who were all simultaneously killed by one guy and a thought bomb

And then came the rule of one which merged the 2 philosophies and created a sith order that worked together rather then against. Hel technically the sith triumvirate showed how powerful the sith could be when they worked together and what they could accomplish.

That was the fundamental issue though the rule of one, and the sith triumvirate had a clear hierarchy, what made the sith so weak during the brotherhood of darkness era was that every sith was equal because of this fact and the fact weaker sith destroyed stronger sith by numbers was why it had to go for the sith to become stronger Bane realized this and went about changing things

I think the Rule of Two is really dumb. I’d have had smaller groups most definitely. So there’s always someone to be an active Thorne in the side of the Jedi. Always an active force fighting the Jedi up front. They don’t have to be the strongest, just really annoying to deal with. While the primary pair placed in charge of the grand plan acted in secret.

Rule of two is a failure in my eye, Palpatine empire last only 20 year for a plan they build up about 1000 year, The old sith empire are much more stronger almost wiped out the jedi order and the old republic many time, The old sith empire may have be defeater many time but cannot be wiped out by jedi or the republic, The old republic may have peace for about 200-300 year, But the old sith empire will away coming back, It become eternal war of light vs dark,

In my opinion, the weakest Sith Lord is, was and always will be Darth Ruin. Due to Ruin's selfishness and arrogance he turned to the Dark Side, he didn't have a master to show him how to be a true Sith Lord, and because of Ruin's stupidity the Brotherhood of Darkness arose and Lord Kahn wanted to adopt Jedi traditions to unite the Sith as equals. In other words, it's Darth Ruin's former training from his Jedi days come full circle.

The Title Darth was Tabooed in Sith ranks, it was a KOS title that the Jedi would for-go general rules of engagement and do whatever they had to in order to eliminate that particular sith. Until Darth Bane redeemed the title. Even the sith were hesitant to use the title, Before Bane Destroyed the sith order, made the Rule of Two and truly gave the title the power it deserved. Learning to use the Darkside to obfuscate force abilities was the greatest gift Bane gave to the sith order. The Jedi became complacent and presumptuous. Fear of the Jedi gave them their arrogance and laziness which led to their destruction. Plagues was one of the most powerful sith since Bane and not only could he walk amongst Jedi, he manipulated Sifo Dyas into cloning troops for Sidious while simultaneously being one of the most known heads of the banking clan and they never knew he could turn on a light saber.
