Never heard the song at the beginning despite listening to a bit of Death, but somehow as soon as that big chord hit I immediately thought "Oh, this has to be Death." Sometimes you can just tell who the band is by very certain key sounds they have lmao.

Hope your not sick of hearing from me just yet. Lol. What can I say, you’re covering my era of Death Metal. Anyway, i picked up Human as soon as it came out in the fall of ‘91, along with the 1st Deicide tape. It was around the same time that the video for Lack of Comprehension debuted on MTV which blew everyone’s mind. As a drummer seeing Sean reinert’s drumming was a religious experience. Changed my life. Got Cause in Death in the summer ‘90. Arguably one of the best Death Metal albums ever made. Suffer the children needs no introduction, it’s a standard and a metal anthem. It’s a prerequisite for being a Death Metal fan. Heartwork is Metal masterpiece. It’s one of my favorite metal albums of all time. And of course you’ve gotta have Once Upon the Cross. Cannibal Corpse’s: Hammer Smashed Face & Metal Hook Sodomy are my favorites. I still have my old Tomb of the Mutilated T-shirt from ‘92. Entombed: Left Hand Path, must have essential. Somebody mentioned Tech Bands. Do you dig Gorguts- Erosion of Sanity? I’d really like to see you tackle something like hideous infirmity. It’s my favorite song from Erosion of Sanity. Killer list. Your doing awesomely taken these kids to school. 🤟👍

9/10 for me. I knew about half of the song names. For benediction I had to look away after the 10 second point to keep listening because I had no clue. I am not really a fan of Benediction, but I have listened to their early work. In fairness, my favorite song by them is I. Honestly no clue how I guessed them. I missed Cannibal Corpse and I am extremely salty about that. I would have expected a Barnes song, or something from Vile, but it is what it is. Another fantastic video, congrats on hitting 100k+. it's funny to know all the bands yet can't name a single one of them correctly (mostly because of not knowing the song). But you get the "oh this sounds very unique to some band that I've heard before, just can't put it in place". Admittedly should've been able to name Death anyway, and I should've even known the Carcass song. Hard to argue with this being the core of death metal when you know and have listened to all of them despite not being super knowledgeable about the depths of the genre. Certainly at least some of them made something that put them in the history books as game changers, pioneers, people who had a sound.
