I think the marriage rumours are so prevalent because her music, especially those of earlier albums, attracts a specific kind of person-a hopeless romantic who believes in The One soulmate who will magically fix all their problems and make their life all sunshine and rainbows. That's why some fans were genuinely distraught when she and Joe broke up, because that relationship to them represented the fact that such an ideal was possible in reality. It's possible Taylor herself had bought into that fantasy when she was much younger (especially considering how she was treated as a weird outsider in her school years) or maybe it was simply the pr angle that was pushed because they knew that would appeal to the widest demographic. I suspect she became disillusioned quite early on about that ideal, and while she continued to write songs and do pr from that perspective, she's been writing more and more about her current worldview, the most explicit examples being from her most recent album-something that most of the fanbase hasn't caught on to. Those kinds of people still seem to be stuck in that mindset of her fulfilling the 'classic' 1950's American Housewife dream, 2.5 kids, white picket fence and all, because that's what they fantasize about for themselves. At the end of the day this is all just wishful escapist entertainment for people trying to get by in an indifferent world that didn't meet the idealistic expectations of naive youthdom. That's what you get for participating in a culture of celebrity worship, the existence and cultivation of which serves as a convienient distraction from real world issues the ones in power don't want people discussing about

But, also, this mirrors how a lot of women meet their future husbands. I met my future husband after similar circumstances. He was someone totally different than I had ever dated, the relationship followed a longer term relationship and a brief one, etc. I think this happens for a lot of women, at this approximate age range. The fixation on marriage has a few roots in women's behavior at least in American culture. As a woman who literally never wanted to marry I have fought against this social norm my entire life. They see this as one big rom-com and they've picked out their leading man. Out of all the insanity I've seen the last few days on TikTok the only one I'm interested in is the whole revenge aspect of this with her completely obliterating Kim K's announcement of Usher for the halftime show. I think the fandom fixates on Kim too much so at first I rolled my eyes. However when they wrapped in the fact that Usher is business partners with Scooter Braun that concept suddenly took on a new light. I still think Taylor is just having fun and figured it was a win win for all parties involved for her to show up to a game. The fact that it was orchestrated to be that particular game? Some article I was fed said that the NFL commentators/media had asked for permission to use her songs during the game last Sunday and she said no. So my guess is that while she wants to show support for him, she's not that into everyone else making money off of it, nor is she into them making his games about her beyond cheering him on nor is she into making more money for herself off of it. He made a big show about wanting to meet her, she matched with a big show of support. That's literally where it is.

watching this 6 months later where we all now know that they were in fact dating for several months before the first game. The first clip played was not wrong in her theory about how long they have been together. I don't know if they will get married but I feel like this will be a long relationship. And Travis DOES give off dad vibes and he has made it clear that he wants to have a family and I would imagine that this is something they have discussed given their age.

Personally one of the worst things about this situation I keep seeing is people commenting on tiktok and saying "my new dad" about travis. From the wierd obsession over the joe breakup and saying u lost ur dad and now after ONE sighting with travis its "i think we found our new dad" LIKE ARE YOU WIERDDDDD. i find it so strage and such a projection. all of these people should realize them making tiktoks wont make this relationship last as long as they said in whatever video they made, if anything the constant obsession just lowers its chances of working out.
