Hi Kasondra, thank you for the videos. They are very helpful, I was trying to get a good speech therapist for my mom who recently suffered a brain haemorrhage but non seemed to be good at their skills. Your videos are very educative and I have shared them with our speech therapist as well she's impressed too. Thank you so much.

I’ve been trying myofunctional therapy on my own and have always been a mouth breather. My chin has been compensating my lip strength and now I’m trying to get that lip strength! No wonder why I had such a hard time speaking as I got older. Thank you!

What is myofunctional therapy? I've just come across the term mouth breather recently and realized I do this as well. I've been struggling with neck issues and headaches for years and trying to correct it. I also just seem to have a lot of dysfunctional body movement, and have figured it has to do with core weakness.

@@bravequest8078 I’m no expert but you can look it up on KZbin and there will be lots of exercises not just for speech, but for breathing and swallowing problems as well. It isn’t entirely proven to help with sleep apnea but it did personally help me with that as well.

Need more than ever, thank you my mother had a stroke 3 months ago and had been unable to speak, swallow or move her left side. I have doing the tongue exercise from your channel with her for about a week, she still cant do them well but she tries. Today when I got home I heard she spoke briefly, so exciting. I know it's a long road to recovery but so happy there's some hope. Thanks again

@@raniasham3176 hi I am sorry to hear this. Unfortunately I tried so many things and nothing helped. She is still in the same position (tube fed). The only advice I can give is keep your dad's nutrition up. I believe It's the only thing keeping my mum alive. I blend fruit and vegetables, but when I don't have the time there is a supplement from Garden of life, raw organic meal that I used. This and a lot of patience. I truly hope your dad recovers.

This is great, thank you. I've seen a lot of your other videos as well and have just started following along. I have bad neck pain and headaches, and have noticed bad jaw tension when I talk too much, and the headaches get worse the longer I'm around people (talking). Frustrating and isolating, so I'm happy to be working on this!

This is just superb, I've been looking for "does oral motor therapy really work?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Deyarper Especial Dominance - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for discovering how to get rid of your stuttering once and for all minus the headache. Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy got excellent success with it.

@@betheanonymous I wish there was an easy answer for this! A professional could look at your prognostic factors to predict how your recovery might go but there is no black and white answer for this. In general, neurologic recovery is measured in weeks and months and not days. In general, the first six months after a neurologic incident you see the most recovery with ongoing, but slower gains following that. Continue working with your medical professional who knows your case.

Nice exercises for lips but what if the lips week and sensitive to touch object like spoon or popsticle sticks?!
@SpeechSecrets
@SpeechSecrets 7 ай бұрын
My response is very late and I am hoping you found some support with this question. I cannot comment on your case specifically but in general changes in sensation are common with neurologic injuries, more often though decreased sensation as opposed to heightened sensation. You may want to look into desensitization techniques for heightened sensitivity.
