Thank you Richard. I have had many customers let me know they keep their homes cooler and are concerned so now I can send them to this well done DIY setup. You can also include a cup with water in it for added humidity if needed. :-)
@tarantulacollective6 жыл бұрын
Great Point. I have had to that myself from time to time. But being in the basement, too much humidity is usually my issue as opposed to not enough...lol. But that solution works great when you need a littl emore hudidity, for sure! Thanks for pointing that out.

I agree, this and Tom Moran's channel are the most informative. There is plenty of fun tarantula KZbin channels about, but if you really want to learn great techniques about keeping healthy, happy T's, then this and Tom's channel are the best.

This is exactly what I have been looking for, I am new to the hobby and was interested in starting to collect spiderlings, but was worried about the cold uk winters because I live in a fairly large house and not every room is heated to the optimum temperature and where I will be keeping my spiderlings it sometimes can get a little cooler than the rest of the house. This is great, THANX!

This I an amazing video, because the house that I live in had no HVAC system. During the warmer days it is no issue but during the winter I only have electric heaters. But they are pretty chill about it. Haha. My boyfriend who is not into the hobby was very accommodating to them living in the house when I moved in. He turns on the heater for me whenever he sees it not on.

Awesome idea! So glad to live in the middle of AZ where I don't have to worry about this. My apartment has stayed in the 70s and low 80s without heat running all winter :)

Here's a perfect example of the value of the videos you create over the years. I had recently picked up a B. albiceps sling and it was recommended to me by the breeder that while they're fine at room temp, if I want it to grow it's ideal keeping it more like 28 during the day. I watched this video and MacGuyver'd up a sling nursery for myself (I only used a 5gal as my space needs are low) and holy hell is this an awesome setup. I had to come back, drop the like I guess didn't drop the first time and post this comment to gush about how helpful this video was for me. Thanks again for all you do Richard.

Just got my second ever tarantula, a little cyriocosmus elegans, and have been super super worried about temperatures since my house is absurdly cold. Unfortunately I only have two outlets in my room, and they're both behind the bed, so I think I'll have to pull some extension cord madness. Hopefully I don't burn the house down ,':/ anyways, wonderful video! >:] I'm definitely doing this for my two little babies Update: I actually did try this one out :D it was surprisingly easy even though I've never been much of a crafter, and the heats been kept in wonderfully! Took me less then an hour to assemble too. Not having to worry about bad molts and other temperature related complications has been such a relief :] I'd definitely recommend trying this out

It’s been a week since I brought home a T.Seladonia sling. Rehoused with dry substrate, new drilled cork bark. I Injected water underneath the substrate for humidity in opposite corners. It built a trap door the same day. I was thinking of moving the enclosure inside my Pacman frog tank. This way Heat and humidity would be on point; Pacman never moves. Thoughts?
