These types of flies I've never even attempted because they look so intimidating to tie but this video helped a lot with breaking it down step by step great video

Just a quick fly tied in the middle of the Amazon... *ties the most beautiful fly I’ve ever seen. I’m seriously about to order a Vice and materials to try a scaled down version for a Florida peacock trip this summer!

Gunnar, Nice fly. Hope to see you again this year at Bar Flies in Ypsi. I enjoy your videos and you have taught an old guy a TON about tying. Keep up the good work.

Nice fly and video. For toothy critters I tie in the tab eyes in reverse with the tab pointed towards the tail. Then you have a solid base to glue the eye down, this way you have both the tab and the glue securing the eye, even better with a coating of epoxy or UV resin. The eyes will probably be the last thing remaining on the hook with this method.

For toothy critters?...are you nut 😂...this is bucktail (NATURAL HAIR) the first bite is destroyed...even tarpon and snook well last at least three or four fish

Hy Gunnar, I was just wandering if you had used the PRO sportfisher " head foils"??? They come in all kind's of types ( you can see them in Daniel's shop for ex). I think they would really look great on your flies.

You must have caught a ton of those peacock bass to still have your digits taped. Nice addition to b heads

How important is the hackle? Is there anything you would suggest as a substitute or would just simply omitting it entirely be okay?

has anyone used a SAGE PAYLOAD 6+ or 7+ rod? if so would you recommend it for peacock bass?
@guitaristforlife864 жыл бұрын
You probably found the answer already, but for Florida peacock bass, a 6 or 7wt is fine. For Amazon fish no way.

Tab eyes are great but they must be reinforced! The tabs are made of foil and are durable but the eyes (dome type) are attached to the tabs with an adhesive. It is not a great adhesive in my experience. You need to cover the eyes with resin.

Dude! That intro song...
@paulallen76516 жыл бұрын
Fuck the intro song. The fly, on the more musical side is nicely designed, well tied. I'm definitely going to whip some up. Thanks! The tab eyes are being ordered, maybe better than fish skulls? You're a maestro. But that music almost made me not watch or like. I needed to hear the jungle river sounds.
