Hi Mary. Loved the historical tour and we all know how sad it is to lose that special pet. Loved the history story of the beautiful grounds of Hobcaw and it was beautiful and serene. The book review was good and so colorful...I enjoyed. I missed your comment last week as you have spoiled us all. Thank you till next week.

Hello sweet friend, that was my fault. I passed your comment several times last week and each time I began a reply it was interrupted. I always appreciate the time and thought it takes for viewers to leave a comment, and you are always so thoughtful to do this. I'm going back to that video now and respond. You've got to keep me on my toes! 😄❤️ xoxo- Mary

And I thought I had all the books by veranda Magazine. Veranda, as represented in this book, always reflects the kind of space that I want to live in: lots of colors, layers, textiles , art, old and new things, and textures all combined in exuberance.

I live in Horry County SC. the next county north of Georgetown. Looking at Georgetown Real Estate listings, they are usually modest. This is a big surprise to me. I have heard of Bernard Baruch but never associated him with anything but major Northeast Cities and politics.

The original inhabitants of Hobcaw Barony, SC were Native Americans from the Waccamaw tribe. Europeans TOOK the land from them and enslaved Africans who worked the land.

Yes, that's true. Several years ago, while excavating a small parcel of the property, they found some beautiful pottery and arrowheads. If you are interested in the Waccamaw tribe you might enjoy this book. "Native Carolinians; The Indians of North Carolina" by Theda Perdue and Christopher Oakley
