Never Forget - In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.

No disrespect to the SOF guys but as a Vet who had a clearance and worked as a Geospatial Intelligence Analyst in the Marine Corps for CJTF-OIR and other non-named units, not a chance in the world a SF guy would be read into advanced UAS programs. If Matt Livelsberger knew about these "drones" it would be relatively common knowledge, compartmentalized information of that sensitive a nature would be contained to several scientists, SMEs, and high level officials not a random Team guy. The targeting war crime claims were also suspect right away, I did targeting for Inherent Resolve (2015-17) and we had more unleashed ROE than Afghan in 2018 and we weren't striking anything without HOURS of ISR on targets and then a strict assumed casualty ratio. I know some other agencies, NOT DOD, had strike authority that was a bit more loose but our strike packages were tight.

Telling the truth terrifies Tim, though Tim timidly told "Tim's truth." To those that trust Tim these terrible tales trouble them. Time to tell tantalizing Tim tales, truly "Tall Tales Timmy" teaches thousands the things that traumatize. Tim Tebow told tee-ball teammates that Timmy Tall Tales traveled today, taking the train; Toledo to Toronto. There Timmy told Tom Thibedeau "Timmy's Truth", though Tom tends to trust Timmy the truth that Timmy told Tom troubled Tom, then Tom took Timmy to task.

Great episode guys! I’m glad to see some of these SOF hero-posers getting called out and even more glad to hear the desire to get some conventional guys’ stories out from an era that is quickly slipping away. Getting guys to open up about their experiences in places like Fallujah, Sadr City, and the random shitty provinces of Afghanistan not only helps tell war stories lost to time, but it’s therapy for related trauma just to share those memories and experiences. It really is. I’m an average 11B that is about to retire in a few months after 22 years and I’ve decided to go back to school. I want to be a veteran counselor and maybe a veteran psychologist one day. Just hearing these stories helps me out at times and I know it does other people as well. I hope y’all keep banging away! 👏

I'm happy to see Jack, Dave, and Nate agree that the Las Vegas cyber truck guy was tragic in that USA let the guy down by not helping him with the PTSD that likely led to that suicide. America owes our veterans better, particularly the combat veterans that we should assume are affected by combat and deserve better support both active duty and from the VA.

I'm a retired Green Beret, and I understand why guys don't want to get involved in calling out other Green Berets publicly, but all of us care about upholding the integrity and legacy of the Special Forces Regiment and honoring the service and sacrifices of the Green Berets who established that legacy, and our brothers who were killed, suffered catastrophic injuries, and the many who have killed themselves. So, even if we don't go on podcasts or post on social media, most of us absolutely hate guys who lie and make false claims.

As the only person to ever have that exact convo with Rob O’Neill and directly question him on his version of the story - Nate, you are on point with your assessment of him. I even told him that I appreciate him for his 399 other badass missions and his heroism. But on the UBL raid, I think he is lying about his role in the mission. But if the guy who built the Gold Gate Bridge murdered his family - he’s a murderer not a brilliant bridge builder.

I obviously don’t know what really happened, but Admiral McRaven (who ran the operation) credits O’Neill with the kill in his book Sea Stories. I’m sure he asked them who did it when they came back from the op, if he wasn’t sure I don’t think he would’ve named him.

@@jurado1010McRaven’s book made me laugh. Rob was fourth in the door, Mark Owen was second. A guy with the nickname “Red” was first and got the kill. All Rob did was empty a bunch of rounds into UBL’s face which fucked the kill confirmation so hence the story of a similar height SEAL having to lie down next to him to confirm is born. O Neill is full of shit. He never tells the story of the raid the same way from the other.

Brother it is amazing how much crazy shit Marines and Soldiers see in their deployments. I knew a Marine who was ordered to send a female Marine "Female Engagement Team" to a checkpoint with some Infantry Marines, long story short, she begged this Marine (her Supervisor) not to go that day, she had a death premonition. He asked his superior officer if he could send someone else, that officer went high and right and told him in no uncertain terms to tell her to unfuck herself and do her duty, she gets killed along with some grunts, by a suicide bomber at the checkpoint. He was fucked up with heavy PTSD for that Marine's death, even though he did all he could as her Supervisor to get her out of the mission. I lost touch with him. But I know more than one Marine who is still living with deep PTSD from guilt, survivors or commanders guilt, for Marines getting killed in combat under their command. War is hell. I am not sure how you slice and dice PTSD, from that kind of guilt vs "I killed a civilian or worse a kid" during combat (not intentionally). War is all hell. I am a non-combat Vet.

@ that’s horrible, I hope he got the help he deserves! One of my best friends was a part of the FET Teams in mid 2008, I’m thankful it was boring for her, it was wild af in Anbar in those days. Thanks for your reply, it’s true no matter what your job was you may get exposed to some bad bad stuff. IDF on KAF wasn’t great - one night I was walking to the gym that was nearer to the Army living areas and a small motor pool when a 120 exploded about 100 meters away. I ducked behind a vehicle since they used to launch a few in a row, then carried on since that was normal. What wasn’t normal was that it hit a female Army conex stack and 8 of them were pretty messed up. I guess because I was so close and saw it plus the fact they were women got to me, but it didn’t hit me until a few year later. It’s crazy how all these things come out of nowhere after not thinking bout it for a long period of time, I was in from age 19-23 and all the events popped back up around age 33 and just stayed with me.

Dave, I live with huge regrets every damn day that I didn’t stay in Bn, I ets’d 3 months before 9/11. I went to the Washington Army National Guard for a year and transferred to the USCG-R for my remaining six years under my contract. Ended up on a medical and separated for good. Under contract I could not get back to regiment and I live with that everyday. I can see how guys want to fit in and the only way they can is to lie. I did some good stuff in the Reserves and did some contracting work but nothing compared to what I could have done in Bn. This all started by divorce, I was threatened by divorce then transferred to the reserve but in the end, the divorce went through anyway. Not saying this excuse but this plagues my life every single day I am alive. I did the best I could as a Ranger, got out at the worst time and have self sabotaged since. I am broke physically and it has taken until last year to seek help from the VA and it’s been an uphill battle. I waited this long because I do not feel worthy of said benefits because I got out and didn’t fight in GWOT with Bn. The human psyche sucks. Love ya brother, just wanted to share because I think there are many vets out there in the same situation as me. RLTW

I started watching it for the military interviews, but even some of their biggest and what should be most trustworthy names have made questionable claims and statements about their service time. A good interviewer at the very least will lightly challenges those types of claims, which is something I never see happening on that pod. I came to the conclusion long ago that SRS does what’s good for Shawn‘s own politics and SRS‘s bottom line and that is absolutely all.

Of course they would. Look up US Army Captain William D. Swensen (US Army, 10th Mountain Infantry Division, MOH) and Dakota Meyer (USMC Scout Sniper, MOH). Swanson is on the MOH Museum board, last i heard. Based about what I've read about him, I would think he might be the person to approach about Chapman's place in the museum. He, of all people, doesn't sound like a man that would allow inter-service rivalry or politics to get in the way of honoring anotger MOH awardee. Swensen's MOH recommendation was championed in part by a USMC general who saw Swensen's MOH package was being derailed by the army as revenge for statements he made during the post-action investigation. Swensen was very critical of his superiors' actions during the battle during which he and Meyer saved many lives and retrieved the bodies of 4 KIA US servicemembers. The decisions of Swensen's superiors during the vattle were so bad that the USMC refused to allocate personnel to participate in any further joint-service missions until changes were made by the army. Meyer was recommended and approved for the MOH. Swensen's MOH recommendations were lost, delayed, and derailed. He was awarded a DSC, and only because of mounting pressure from Meyer (formerly a Sergeant, then a civilian), and others from within the army and otherbreached, Swensen's MOH recommendation was eventually approved. Several years after Meyer receivedhis MOH, President Trump presented Swensen with his MOH.

Hey, can someone tell me why Marcus Luttrell’s story is not true?
@WichoSuavee
@WichoSuavee 11 күн бұрын
There were quite a few things wrong with the story, for starters the amount of Taliban they were purported to have faced off against was highly inflated. To his defense, I don’t think Mr. Lutrell wanted to be apart of that sensationalization of his story, he seemed kind of railroaded along. The Taliban they faced off against filmed the entire firefight and it’s actually up on KZbin. It’s rather harrowing, watching as these brave men fight for their lives but it does call into question the official story. It was a bad insertion, in midday and they were caught in a terrible position being fired upon from the top of the mountain. I’ve heard that Marcus’ magazines were full and he didn’t fire any shots, but I’m not sure if that’s hearsay. As I said previously Marcus actually gave the Navy the actual account of what occurred but they wanted to twist it into a more favorable story.

There’s ketamine treatments for depression. Like most treatments for depression it’s hit and miss but for those it works for it works very well. I’d be interested in going the plant medicine route but a few ketamine sessions is still better than being on a useless SSRI for the rest of your life.

@@BaloneySandwichWithKetchup Hard to OD on and probably easier to balance the line of addiction than with opiates. But once the addiction line is crossed it gets ugly really fast because you build up a resistance and eventually end up destroying your organs with the amounts you have to take.

Soldiers getting salty about other soldiers monetizing their military experience while simultaneously monetizing their military experience. Let’s be straight up. Every story you hear from any soldier can be peeled back like an onion. There are layers of truth, interpreted experience, exaggeration and total BS in every story. The question is can you meander your way through the inaccuracies and just focus on the truth.

Team House guys - you are so close to truly understanding the width and depth of the narcissistic collective. It’s all connected - Jocko being the blue print creator and mentor. Then you have Marcus, Rob, Shawn, TK, Andy Stumpf, and newbies like Chad Robicheaux - they are all part of the same club. When one rises or falls - they all rise and fall. It’s time we look behind the face and see how the machine runs. WHO is funding them? Who is creating their marketing and PR brand? How are they getting their biz opportunities? Thats the real story.

@ at no point did I accuse him of anything. I accused the collective group of using one another to create success and that their individual and collective success is largely based on lies and corruption. And some may be complicit through silence or promotion. But the collective has been insulated (until recently) from exposure due to each other’s success and public support of one another.

Having a hero is a motivator. Putting people on pedestals is morally dangerous. Many people, including fellow Vet's and AD fail to realize that the military is entirely populated by members of society, with all of their biases, morals and ethics that military training can help hide, but not replace. Don't get fooled by the outward appearance or accolades awarded to the uniform, the person in it is still fallible and may be lacking in what we expect from them.
