They're both headsets. There's only so much you can do to make them different-- especially when you're trying to make a pair of lowkey, non-hideous gamer-y designs. I don't understand why people say one is a ripoff of the other when there's hundreds of actually identical headsets rebranded out there.

There's a difference between "copycat" and "direct competitor", that many people don't understand. It's completely normal for a company to aim for the same end users as another company, that's just how the market works.

I'd like to mention that while the Razer Barracuda X isn't supported by Razer Synapse, it is however supported on the Razer audio app on both android and iOS, which also has an equalizer so you can play around with the sound.

@@mason7763 you have to use the usb c dongle that’s included. If your phone has a USB C port, for example the newer Samsung phones, then yes you can. iPhones don’t have usb c ports.

The marketing on the 4in1 with the same shaped dongle and the no Bluetooth is the one that they copied imo. Razer just made their own arctis 1 wireless but is usbc. Other parts that were "copied" were clearly exaggerated. Nice on the razer to use usb c charging tho

I actually bought these to use with the cloud 2s.. Cloud 2 has better sound, slightly worse mic, and mine is the wired version, so the freedom/connectivity gives them room in my arsenal

Razer made a revised version of their Barracuda X, it has the USB-C dongle as well as Bluetooth, plus they upgraded the battery life to around 50 hours. Certainly more expensive than the original though.

Nice comparison but i do not think i would have affected my choice for the Barracuda X - why? Well i do already own the blackshark V2 (on the sharkoon gaming pro DAC to get the hell of a sound out of it... and the mic! Sorry Razer but your USB Sound Card sucks...) I 100% love the sound quality of the Blackshark and i would say it is the best you can get for the buck right now - and the Barracuda did not disappoint me... as first i thought the sound stage was a lot more narrow on wireless and i was thinking of the smaller drivers... but connected to the DAC via 3.5mm this headset fully shines! The same crispy sound as the blackshark with this same great sound stage... i think i will pack my blackshark away and fully use the barracuda now.

I have a pair of the Arctis 1 Wireless Xbox version and I love them. The Barracuda do look very similar ... especially the dongle design. Still Razer needed a $99 headset for the PC & PlayStation since the Kaira are a Xbox headset. Techne...what's your opinion of the Barracuda be the Kaira?

Not sure I agree with the copycat in the title. Yes they're headsets and they share more or less the same *good* featureset, but other than that, they don't look alike, they don't sound alike, the mics aren't the same quality, comfort isn't the same...

The fact that the barracuda x doesn’t work wireless on Xbox is just plain dumb. I own all platforms and I am extremely interested in the barracuda… but if I have to plug in 3.5mm for Xbox…. No thanks.

Arctis 1 is better than any Razer headset except the Blackshark V2. I think Barracuda beats Arctis 1 but not the X version.

The two headsets were more than likely manufactured in the same factory. I have a set of Arctis 1's that i use with my PS5 and they perform really well. Everything is Razer with my PC though. Buy whatever you want and don't let other people dictate your purchases.

I think theres going on at my Barracuda x At seemingly random intervals, I get a beeping sound . According to the manual, it is supposed to mean that the battery is low. But its not. I just use it after charhing for hours.

How Baracuda X headset can be called comfy - it may suit only childish head, clamping force is above medium, ear cushion inside is like made of rubber which makes presure points after 5 minutes of wear. Totaly dissapointed and returning back. Arctis 1 is a bit more comfortable both in clamping and ear cushion.

literally the only thing that's similar that actually matters is the dongle. those are the only thing that's and "copycat" by razer. other than that, weight and driver size i'd imagine are either standard for headsets or just coincidence. not a big deal. like you said if anything they copied their own design from the Opus. and it shouldnt be a big deal, Steelseries has copied their own design for like what 5 different headsets? 🤷‍♂️

Arctis 5's have a good balanced quality with crisp highs i used them for a year. I got my Arctis pro wired(no game-dac) a few days ago the sound is louder and more alive/immersive.

i have it. you don't need to. the wire is most convenient when the battery died or if you're saving the batter life for later use, you may switch to wired and power off also, the mic quality is best and more crisp when in wired but it's still decent when wireless anyways

I use and have one steel series headset, 2 turtle beach (recon 500 and 600gen2) 2 razers (black shark v3 and barracuda x) all sound completely different. My favorites are the Barracuda x and recon 500. The sound of both is mental. And very comfortable.

outside of making the headphones either ridiculous looking, ridiculous feeling, they have a BASIC design, that you cant get away from.. I Adore my razer headphones and controllers... i have had others.. i am a RAZER fan pretty much for life.. Steel, or Turtle Beach, or what/whomever, may be just as good, even better when getting to nosebleed prices, i dont have the ears/hearing left, to PAY for those levels of quality, they are LOST, 100% on my ears, with my hearing loss. that being said.. i simply love my Razers... end of story..

For perspective I own the blackshark v2 pro, senn 58x jubilee, original Corsair hs70, and used to own the coolermaster mh751 before it developed issues. The hs70 is pretty bad in comparison to all of those especially for how much it costs. Comfort is very poor due the top headband having basically no padding and the headphones weighing quite a bit does not help. Sound is also really poor. Sure it works and most people will be content with it but in comparison to the other headphones I've used it sounds very muddy and distorted. Wireless range is about half of my blackshark v2 pro's as well.
