Most informational and best review on youtube of this product. Answered nearly every question I had! Only other question that wasn't answered was: When charging from a standard wall outlet does it require sufficient power to utilize the HyperFlash technology, or can this be also charged from a US standard 120v power source with less amps (i.e. a really small generator, a 750w inverter on a deep cycle battery, etc)? I understand I could use the 12v DC input to charge it from the deep cycle, but what I'm asking is whether the 120v standard wall outlet REQUIRES 12A to operate, or whether it can run on far less (i.e. 120v at 2 amps such as a 120v inverter outlet found in many vehicles today).
@TheTechnologyMan

Thanks glad it helped! I've not tried charging it off a lower output mains outlet - but imagine it would work ok and just charge slower.

Good review ... thanks👍I was gearing up to go down the Renogy 1Kw inverter + 100ah Lipo4 battery route but I'm sold on the 757 now for what I want to run in a household powerdown scenario for two pensioners, running a Sharp 700w microwave and a Vango 800w camping induction hob. It will most likely sit beside the microwave & small induction hob but the possibility of humping it across to run the freezer if need be appeals. If it works out I may buy a second unit and use the UPS function specifically as failover for the freezer.

Back after the trip, I have the #Anker757 and used it on my desert trip with the 300w soler, it is a BEAST!! more then enough to power the camp and to keep my #Domitec 92 CRX3 ruining the hole time. Thanks that was a great plain speaking, not with too much technical jargon in, review of Anker's 757 power station. I had previously decided to buy this model, but then Anker announced the new 767 model which is due out in November. I know Anker have released some details of the 767, in that it'll have a bigger battery/capacity, which in turn mean a bigger size and hence why it'll have wheels and a handle to pull. Which isn't a bad thing, as even the 757 at 20kg, could have done with wheels as well in my opinion. Ultimately whether I buy the 767 or 757 will depend on the price.

Hi Gidon, i saw critical reviews about UPS-mode: Long power outage: AC loss, Battery drains completely, that's fine, but when AC recovers, the inverter will not restore power. So you'd have to be there to turn it back on once it reaches 2% charge. Medium clean power outage: If AC power is removed, the anker will carry the load, and when AC cleanly recovers, it'll passthrough and charge. My computers handle this fine. This is the only scenario that works how an ups should work. Brownouts: Apparently under these conditions, there is no hysteresis, and the anker will just turn off. If power comes back on too quickly?, it'll turn off. A brownout happened while you were gone? Better make sure your fridge isn't off. You had a brownout while sleeping? I guess your CPAP will just stay off because the power blipped :/ So for my real world conditions, it's just as likely to interrupt power than provide it. I've just never had issues like this, with any ups I've ever owned. can you comment this cases?
@TheTechnologyMan
@TheTechnologyMan 2 жыл бұрын
Can't comment specifically on all those cases but I'd only consider this an emergency UPS, better off with a dedicated UPS if you know you need one.

Thanks glad you liked the video! Yes a very handy unit. I did discuss solar charging - you can connect up to three panels in parallel which would charge the unit at 300W max - 80% charge in just over 3 hours. Didn't have great weather to test this - but I got around 150-180W off three panels in bright but cloudy conditions.

@@TheTechnologyMan I have 400w panel, will this unit max out at 300w when charging or 300w panel is the max that it would take and any larger it would just simply shut down and not charge from it. Can you also please clarify what additional cable is required if to charge from the solar panel (i have already got a solar cable extension with MC4 plugs at the end) as this unit doesn't come with the cables? many thanks for the review.

Well it was a pre order deal. Sad to say it has just been returned as the solar was a pain. You had to unplug and replug the xt60 every day and when it got twilight it would make a loud clicking noise and also needed the xt60 unplugging. It was a deal breaker as I had it connected to panels on the roof when not in the T6. New Ecoflow Delta 2 with Lifepo4 and the extra battery is epic at 2kwh capacity and working perfect for my daily solar needs. Only 12 kg for the main unit. Easier on my ageing back 😂

Great video, very informative and helpful. I have just ordered one of these, could you recommend some roof mountable panels for my van that I could use to charge this rather than the expensive anker 625 100w portable ones please? My thoughts are that the panels would be safer on the roof of the van than on the ground at a campsite and I can then have the wire coming into the van to connect to the 757. Would I be best getting one 300w panel or 3 100w panels, new to all of this but didn't want to go down the standard camper leisure battery/split charge relay route as I think the "portability" of this type of unit is a big advantage. I would only need solar charging whilst camping too so roof mounting seems the way forward? Would be very interested in your thought and look forward to more videos!
@TheTechnologyMan
@TheTechnologyMan Жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Glad the video helped! I've not tested any non-flexible panels - but I'd look at some thing like Renogy. You need panels graded for exterior use - so non of the portable panels I've looked at would be any good. It'll probably come down to size - what you can fit on your roof. Most options should work fine with the 757.

First things first absolutely great video. My concern is with the solar input. It's limit to 30v and 10A makes it basically impossible to hit the 300W. when using A parallel/series array of 12v panels to get to 24v the max is still 240W because of the 10A limit. I can't really find any panels that reliably work at and always under the 30v...

The app is useful with the EcoFlow (but certainly not essential) and the Delta is a fair bit lighter if you're going to be moving it around a lot. I am considering this power station as well as the Bluetti units to run my home office / electronics lab and charge via solar. I assume its got pass through charging ? Like you mentioned blue tooth app and control would be nice or wifi would be even better so you can turn on and off the unit when you are away from the power station's location. It would also have been nice to have dual charging without an internal AC charger so you could link 2 solar arrays as you can with the Bluetti EB55. I would like to use this as a replacement for my household battery in my camper. The fan, waterpump and lights are on 12v, using about 80 watts when everything is on at the same time. So I suppose the 12v car output could easily manage that. The thing is however, is that I have 300 watts of solar charging the household battery and it is also connected to the car's alternator using a Victron Cyrix-CT switch. If I replace the household battery with the ANKER, using the auto/solar input connector on the back, directly hooking it up to my alternator and solar, would that work for charging? I would then have control over de 12v output by a switch on the anker, which I like.

I've not tried connecting it to an alternator - but as long as the input is within the power stations spec'd range it hould be fine. I simulated all sorts of input with a bench PSU and it worked fine.

@TheTechnologyMan just to clarify, this will be my first generator and I want it for a power out backup and long family holidays off grid. So I need it transportable, but being for whole family use when being off grid, I want something that is powerful enough to cope, especially as we may have other families with us. I can get some solar panels but chances are there will be little sun, so can't rely on that unfortunately. But it's a balance between weight, power and longevity, as I also want one that I don't have to worry about replacing any time soon. Many thanks!

@The Technology Man I hope so. We really need it here and importing it is really expensive. Thanks for replying

1229 Wh - if you're talking about capacity. I cover all the specs in the review and article. If you're looking for Ah value - that depends on voltage and is not directly comparable. Wh is better since it's actual capacity. (Sorry if I've misunderstood your question).

Thanks for this great review. I've a question. What's the chance of using a leisure battery being charged by solar to supplement capacity and recharge at same time

No problem glad it helped. You'd need some sort of charge controller for your leisure battery - but yes then you could top the battery up.

@@TheTechnologyMan I have a 757 on order with the Anker solar panels - thanks for the great review. Very detailed and evidence based! I have found that I can plug a power station into our campervan and essentially simulate an electric hookup. We then have the leisure battery being charged up, as well as all power points in the van active too. If the solar panels are plugged in, I am hoping this will be a useful hack. Thanks again for the valuable work on the review.
