Your formula is for 1C which is safe for nimh in theory but for most cases and for some users it is a safe practice that you charge nimh on .2-.5c.

If I use the cycle function to re condition an NimH battery, will I be able to see information regarding the results of each cycle? I wish to determine the initial storage capacity , and document the increase, if any, from the cycles

Where did you get the 0.6A from when discharging?

Hi Skrawn, the TB6B charger is capable of discharging up to 1A max. The discharge rate is dependent on the the battery pack, since the battery pack's max discharge rate can be less than the Tb6b charger - we recommend double checking the manufacturer's specifications on the battery pack to decide. In this example, we wanted to discharge the 3,800mAh battery for around 6-7 hours, so chose 0.6A.

Does this charger recondition NiMH batteries? I have an 18v Ryobi battery that only holds about 5% of its capacity.

Hi John, the tb6b can be used to cycle a nimh battery pack. However in your case, it may be difficult to cycle the 18V ryoibi battery without disassembly. In addition, it may not help bring back the battery pack to it's full capacity. We suggest replacing it with a new battery pack instead. How did you arrive at the .6A setting when you were discharging the NiMH?

Hi K LE, generally we recommend discharging your batteries at .2C and this varies depending on your battery pack and preferences. For this video we went for lower than .2C since we weren't in a rush to discharge the battery. Hi Nanbanjin, generally you can charge and discharge as long as the charger and battery pack does not overheat - make sure that your resting period in between cycles is sufficient to allow the charger and battery pack enough time to cool down. The number of times will depend on the battery itself, so it's important to check with your battery pack's manufacturer's specifications to confirm. That's correct. If you're only charging and discharging a Nimh battery packs the balance cable is not needed. If you're unsure if your battery pack is lithium or nickel metal based, please check the manufacturer's manual or recommendations. Generally, Nimh and NiCd battery packs won't have a balance cable to connect.

Hi Hunter charge time will depend on the speed you choose to recharge the battery pack and how full your battery pack is. You can choose to recharge at 1C (2.4A for your battery pack which will take 1 hour), for a battery pack like yours recommend .25C ( 0.6A which can take up to 4 hours) but results in a better experience for your battery pack (less heat and fuller charge).

Our team there can give you more specified guidance on why it's not stopping Assuming you have a 7S1P (8.4V 4500mah NiMH battery pack), we recommend charging with settings of NIMH at 1A. The charger should automatically stop charging once your battery pack is full, it'll beep to alert you. But since that doesn't seem to be the case for you, please stop charging and contact us at [e-mail] for more details.

Hi Javier this charger works NiMH, NiCd, LiPO, Li-ion, LiFePO4, and SLA battery packs. LiNiCoMn battery has the same nominal voltage as li-ion, so in this case yes.
