@@TheThamesmen Germany here 😁. Yes, the country where this megafestival usually takes place every year. In principle you can work through the complete setlist from this concert. If there has ever been a perfect concert, this is it. Musically, size, mood, vocaly. Nothing is better. No matter in which order Nightwish songs come, the next one will always be your favorite. Floor is the third singer of this band and according to the band boss Tuomas (keyboard) will also be the last. If she stops, that's it. Floor has given Nightwish back the joy and you can always see that. They have pure fun playing together. There is a real connection between the band and the fans. And even more through Floor. This woman is such a fine person. She has her own youtube channel here and takes care of us. Answers questions, does cover, has shown a lot of private things. She is one of the most sympathetic people in the world. No acting, no attitude, just down to earth. By the way, her husband is Sabaton's drummer. And she can actually sing anything. She has not yet tried rap, but can still come. 😁 From the deepest growling to the highest notes. She can do everything perfectly and it doesn't even look stressful with her. Floor: Valkyrie Goddess Tuomas (Keys): Metal-Mozart, Jack Sparrow Marco (bass): the Viking Emmpu (guitar): the Hobbit Jukka (drummer): the Pirat Troy (multi Instrumentalist) Jukka (2015) and Marco (2021) left the band. Jukka was succeeded by Kai (Wintersun) and a temporary replacement for Marco is Jukka (Wintersun). Hopefully Marco will come back in a year.

@@TheThamesmen Your very next song should be poet and the pendulum!!!! You HAVE to do some research on the meaning of the song before you listen though or the nightwish army will get upset lol. It will also teach you a little bit of Nightwish history. Long story short most of them have been friends since they were teenagers and Tuomas who does keyboards and writes all of their songs had to pretty much fire the original lead singer who was a lifelong friend. When she was forced to leave a lot of people blamed Tuomas and he went into a deep depression and considered suicide. Instead he decided he would "commit suicide" in a song which is poet and the pendulum. Do this version because it tells you some of the words and which acts of the song they're in kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3bdi4WDqc2bjrc I would also recommend their version of phantom of the opera. The only version they've done is with the original lead singer Tarja but if you want to hear how amazing their bassist is at singing thats the song. My favorite version of phantom of all time.

Wow, buying quite a couple of concert tickets for "The Wilthern" after just one song is so amazing. You won't regret that live experience, because it even brought me up here ;-) Talking about utterly enthusiastic crowds, my recommendation will be to check out Nightwish' - "I want my tears back", live from Buenos Aires (choose 6-7 min version, as the song alone is about 5 min)). This is also a good introduction to their British addon "Troy Donockley", who started as a guest musician until he became a full member in 2013. So Troy hasn't been included in all of their older songs yet. He's bringing in his elbow pipes, whistles and more string variety, if neccessary, and even his voice. If you would like to do some ballads, go for "Dead Boy's Poem", also live from Buenos Aires or "Sleeping Sun" (when towards the arctic circle the sun won't show for a long time), e.g. live from "Masters of Rock" festival. Double reactions should also be done for their songs "How's the Heart" (only lyric video yet, as it had been released during covid), because there is also an accoustic version, with only Troy and Floor on "Planet Rock", and "Nemo" live at concert from Wacken as well as live on "Planet Rock" again.

George, Alex, The Thamesmen ..... I'm confused (I probably missed something) ... The UK ... Nightwish concert in the States ... but what do I know, I'm just a "simple" Dutchman, but your enthousiasm made me describe to your channel ...... you two are just the guys for ...... and I hope you can find the time to react to this TOP LINEUP OF MANY MUSICAL INTRUMENTS/SINGERS: The Source is the 9th studio album from *AYREON* , a progressive metal/rock opera project by Dutch musician Arjen (Ahr-Yun) Anthony Lucassen, released on April 28, 2017. *_”The Day That The World Breaks Down”_* is a song that features all 11 (quite well known) main guest singers (you’ll be surprised) and is taken from that album. Arjen himself is telling (in subtitles) who the singers are and which instruments are used and by which standards. Btw. This creative original clip is 13 min. long and I think you won’t regret it !! Official (Arjen’s) clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXfYfn6ap9-Dp7c Btw. The members of Nightwish are always having fun during their concerts !! (Emppu, the guitarplayer is the joker of the band). Btw. High Hope by Nightwish is a tribute, not a cover. If you like our Dutch Floor, then try a Dutch band called *EPICA* (with one of Floor's BFF's anf former roommate Simone Simons). Live in the Zenith (Paris, France - *_"Consign to Oblivion"_* : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpzUqqyLiaiAi7M Live (Retrospect show) - *_"Unleashed"_* : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKnHZ6augd2Xr9WAive (Retrospect show) - *_"Sancta Terra"_* : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mamVY4yrn5ehsMk (duet with Floor)

Well , Toumas describes their version "High Hopes" as a tribute to Pink Floyd.. They don't do covers to try and reproduce the sound of Pink Floyd.. Which is great because no one should or could reproduce that mellow Pink Floyd vibe.. What's great about the Nightwish cover is they kick it up and give it the Nightwish sound..

Nightwish are amazing. And to think of the crew instead of themselves in these times is pretty rare I guess. They always think of others. Even in the end of these recorded shows when they thank people who have done various parts, they even thank the bus driver. That is cool.

I am looking forward to the High Hopes show, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I first saw Nightwish in a 700 max capacity club, it was rather good. They were doing a tour of N. America with their then new singer, Anette Olzon, and the decided to play small clubs to ease her in. Before you see them live you really should listen to their latest album, Human Nature, there is a video for each track on KZbin and I would suggest doing them in order too, it might make more sense then. You have so much to catch up on 😀

Went back again to see your new-to-Nightwish reaction. You guys are just like me, 2+ years ago. How is it possible I knew nothing about a band that can do this? And yes, their fan base spans the globe. Amazing. I've seen Floor do live chat on her channel, and the people logging in are literally from all over the world. Their smallest fan base appears to be the USA. Again, how is that possible? Well, keep doing your thing. I like your channel because you guys are old enough to know exceptional when you see it. And don't forget....Endless Forms Most Beautiful from the Tampere concert. Or, I Want My Tears Back from the Decades concert in Argentina. You have to start with the end of the previous song to see the all-time greatest live crowd reaction you will ever see. And Floor is in rare form. Cheers 😁

In Montreal, Canada we still have some good FM radio (and online). CHOM is staying fairly true to the original format, despite recent Corp ownership by a big Media company. Playing local music, long songs, full albums etc. My wife even found a local record shop had an "empty" sold out? spot in the store for Nightwish. Recommended it to store clerk. She was not as big a fan until she watched both Virtual concerts at the end of May. Edit: CHOM FM (rocking on air since 1971) can be found on iHeartRadio as well as other online sites and CHOM.com

Online music services like iHeart radio also are great for listening to (and finding) these bands that aren't played on mainstream radio here in the U.S. I found some other gems like "Sister Shotgun", "The Dirty Youth", and "Halestorm" through a combination of iHeart and KZbin.

Yes, they are a very happy band and for good reasons. World class singer, composer and musicians. Bit of trivia: The Viking’s helmet never had horns on it. That was a theatrical addition. I stopped listening to radio in the '90s, after realizing that more than half of what was played was either crappy covers or artificial "bands" who were just models hired by production companies to shuffle along to the music video. I did not hear Nightwish until 2019. I was as blown away as you looked! I still don't understand how ALL their songs are better than all their others, but I am absolutely not complaining.

As new fans, when you get a list like Gabriel's, you could think "Ah, this is the list of their greatest hits and it probably loses on quality further down we go". And that's a valid premise, but no, it doesn't, I have never seen a band with that quantity of "bangers". Speaking of hits, Nightwish has about 5 songs that reward listeners for prior knowledge about their topic, otherwise the whole point could be lost: Shoemaker; Bye Bye Beautiful; Master Passion Greed; Poet and the Pendulum; The Greatest Show on Earth. It's probably good idea to skip those until you learn about the band some more, It'll be worth it. You could also have a doubt if you bought tickets after listening to only one song (whether you did or not isn't important), I mean lots of bands have at least one huge hit, but I (a random person on the internet) assure you that you haven't made a bad move :) Enough about NW, I like the way you do things on your channel, it's clear, enthusiastic, good mics, proper music video and sound. It seems you're on your way to many subs in near future.
