I've been rocking with Watsky since 2010. He deserves so much more attention than he receives. Great choice for a reaction. I'd love to see more Watsky reactions

so, since you too are an OG Watsky fan, I had an SAT tutor who actually also tutored George. He went to University High School (very prestigious and academically rigorous high school) and I went to one of their main rivals. Because of this, in Sophomore year, I had the opportunity to meet his parents and him briefly at a show. Nicest, Chillest dude, what I would describe as a true "San Franciscan". First song I ever heard was Seizure Boy and I had a poetry teacher who competed against him at the National Slam championships (Mike Taylor) who showed me this poem, was hooked since.

Funny you mention Bo Burnham... he appears in Watsky's music video "Whoa Whoa Whoa". You should react to that for yet another different view of Watsky.

I wanted chicken tenders so I made chicken parmesean. While I was eating I wanted to watch this because Watsky is crazy. He said, “Your pediment is listening” and I spat out my chicken parm. Damn. As a person who has had a lisp so long and has worked so hard to overcome it and whose dad still doesn’t understand him, this hits HARD! How has it taken me this long to see this?

But also, this S is for Lisp is timeless

Every time he picked up the pace, my brain just heard "ssss" as it sat, stood and suspended to simmers
@DTE4203 жыл бұрын
Seriously so sick!! Watsky simply surpasses simpletons, so much so that ignorant suckers stupidly shuffle past such splendid art. Still, real rap students stop and stare at such a superstar. So, long story short, Watsky is S+ tier.
@feathersz19523 жыл бұрын
Watsky is an example of HARD WORK paying off. He took his lisp and beat the shit out of it until he could rap more intricately than ANYONE out there.

this was my intro to Watsky, I have a natural heavy lisp... I can't even say my own name correctly, 'Lance'. As a teenager, I was a freeform poet but my brain doesn't work quite the same way anymore. :(

This reminds me of the first time I came across Hotel Books, Being as an Ocean, Propaganda, and Levi The Poet. At the time I had no clue what spoken word was, but stuff like this always is so intriguing to listen to because it really can both inspire and also hit home.
@lukeg39833 жыл бұрын
Yo, Glad you checked this out again! For WATSKY you should check out Sloppy Seconds or Tears to Diamonds for some deep shit. And if your in the mood for some amazing spoken word look up Prime time loving - Harry Baker. He was the world champion with that one I guess
@calumteine20083 жыл бұрын
More Watsky?!? Yes!!! Might wanna check him battling himself on stage spoken-word style. Can't remember the name of the vid, but it's awesome as well.

Yo I know you take most of your requests from Patreon but if you do more Watsky you should definitely check out the song "Exquisite Corpse". It's a concept song with like 6 or 7 other artists and they basically just did the improv thing where one person starts a story and then hands it off to the next artist. It's such a cool idea and so much talent and different flows packed into one song. If you get the time definitely worth a listen even if you don't do it as a video. (Though I'd love to see the reaction of course my dude). Keep up the great work as always

Finally a reactor that does some Watsky reactions. There's like a billion channels on KZbin reacting to all this shitty, mediocre rap stuff, while sleeping this amazing artist.

rap takes a beat and breaks it into 4/8/12/16 based. Spoken word is "tell a story with EMPHASIS and soft words, SPEED IT UP and slow it down. Make the WORDS the focus by accentuating certain words, and underplaying others."
