"So you clowns can get out of the way!" 😂 The Lord is SO good for not doing that (which we deserve) but instead letting us be part of his life ♥️

There is one statement in this video that seems totally wrong. "if we don't know what we are doing...receiving the eucharist would be pointless, even an offense against God". At nearly 75 years of age I can look back and marvel at some stages of my life. In infancy a disease took much of my hearing, parts of my mobility and gave me a particularly slow brain. Why didn't I develop bitterness towards nasty kids who wouldn't leave me alone? Why didn't social isolation through these many years consume me? Instead, even as a child I felt compassion towards tormentors. My parents attended daily mass and some of us nine kids went with them, our choice. I never understood what was being said and everyone spoke too quickly for me to give verbal responses. My parents explained that going to Mass heals our souls and God knows what we need most so don't fuss over what to pray for. In seventh grade a nun who specialized in kids like me taught me how to learn and how to concentrate my muddled mind. While the public high school didn't accept retards I still continued to study at my own pace. By my twenties I at least knew all the standard teachings about the mass and sacraments etc. To this day I do not know what is being said but just pace along with a missal, no idea what is said in the homily. My attendance at mass yielded to the healing power of grace because of my sincere, albeit confused, confidence in Jesus instilled by my parents. This transformative power, this making our hearts loving, had nothing to do with a correct theology; a correct "knowing what we are doing".

You knew what you were doing there as much as you possibly could, so the sentence isn't condemning your younger self. At least how I understood it the phrase admonishes those who neglect to prepare themselves to the Blessed Sacrament and not to those who, without a fault of their own, are unnable to prepare themselves as much as the ordinary faithful. It admonishes those who neglect to open themselves to Scripture 5:18 and not to those who open themselves as much as they can while still not understanding fully what's happening.

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe (John 20:24-29).

Have you looked for a deaf mass? I know my diocese has one where the priest/deacon use sign language

Do any of us understand all that happens during the mass? I go for daily mass and different sentences of scripture strike me as inspiring at different times in my life's journey. You were blessed to be inspired by the devotion of your parents and siblings who made you understand the goodness of the Lord!

clicked just to say this. how can you have a vid with this title when that orientation literally prepares you in the wrong direction

I think Ad Orientum is best but it's not "wrong". Just like I think full immersion baptism is best but pouring is not wrong.

No Eucharist means no Jesus! Prest and bishops are committing the sin of Mt 24:15.
