I have the 1st gen Venture, it's this chef's daily wear at work. Tough through a 10 hour day, screw down crown for washing dishes, lightweight and I barely notice it's there until I need to tell the time (or just checking it out because I love it). The new color dials, new case design and automatic movement are really great upgrades and I'm so happy they didn't mess up anything with the 2nd gen. Ooof, what a great field watch.

There is another advantage to Ti watches: if you're allergic to metal alloys (typically the nickel), it'll be better for your skin.
@CrimFerret4 жыл бұрын
another nice thing about titanium is if you are allergic to nickel, it means you can wear it without having to take steps to keep it out of contact with your skin as is sometimes needed with stainless steel. I always get titanium frames for my eye glasses for that reason. It can also be treated to be incredibly hard, much harder than steel. One thing I don't understand why no watchmaker seems to take advantage of is that it can be anodized to various brilliant colors in a very controlled precise way electrically. De Bethune does it with heat anodizing to get their blue color, but there are a whole range of colors one can get. Maybe the grade used for watches doesn't work for that or something.

Jory, I am divided between this Venture, the Tissot T-navigator with the ETA Caliber 2836-2, or a Glycine Combat GL0173. Which one would you recommend? EDIT: After researching the movements, I found out that the ETA caliber on the Tissot is used by many swiss watch makers like Oris, Sandoz, Fortis, Ball. While the Seiko NH35A is used by microbrands and invicta. I am not a watch snob but it seems the ETA caliber would be the better pick? The glycine uses an ETA caliber too.
