My husband and I just did a 3-day cruise on the Wish. It was our first time on the Wish. We have also been lucky enough to sail on the Wonder and the Dream. It’s very difficult to compare the Wish to the older ships. It’s like comparing apples and oranges. They’re very different ships. I agree with Tim that the limited number of elevators going to the higher decks is very annoying and we weren’t even staying in concierge. My husband said the same thing about there needing to be elevator buttons specific to those elevators. Also, we felt that even though this is the largest ship in the fleet it felt like the smallest. The other ships feel more open to me. Our server at Palo (fantastic meal and wonderful server) explained to us that the tanks and cooling system needed for the LNG system take up a massive amount of space on the ship, which was a light-bulb moment for us and helped us understand some of the layout of the ship. I also agree that the Disney cruise community is great. My husband and I did some swing dancing in the Bayou to a set by the trio, the Wishers. A fellow cruiser recorded it. She was going to send it to us via text after disembarking, but we didn’t get it. So, we joined the Facebook group after we disembarked and posted a message on it in hopes that she would see it. She responded within a minute and sent us the video. We really appreciated it. We hadn’t seen video of us dancing since our wedding which was 27 years ago. It was a treat to get it. I so enjoy watching your videos. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m so sorry your cruise was shortened & I am sure it had an impact of your time overall as well. We went on the 4 night the same day you came back & did concierge to celebrate my cancer recovery. We really enjoyed it & spent so much time on the dedicated decks. They were so nice and never crowded. The team was wonderful, but as you said, they stay very busy with so many more guests so it is a different feel than the dream and not as intimate. But overall we felt very well taken care of and my 9yr old son asked me to please recreate the exact bedding at home ;)

I feel likeif they had a gift shop in the cruise terminal pass the point of check in that would be more ideal because then that can be restocked easier then on the ship... still have on on the ship but also one in the terminal before departure.

One of our friends is going on a Disney Cruise in a few weeks and asked us to make something like the pin you shared at 13:51 with the dates, port, and name of the ship (most likely a 3” circle laser cut wood coin) to give to other guests and leave in random places for people to find. We haven’t been on a Disney Cruise yet, so were happy to hear that this was actually a thing. Did it seem like Disney employees would let people leave little things like that hidden in plain sight for people to find and take? Thanks again for your vlogs! We love following your adventures.

Also, when I cruised in September, I cycled the 5k, but they didn't have any medals. Got a magnet of the 5k though :) Final point, you can take the postcards in your stateroom home with you, as a little souvenir gift.

Cruised on the wish and stayed concierge right after you guys and agree 100% that it wasn’t worth it. The lounge was nice but did not get the extra special feeling, just too many people. Would love to see extra perks like maybe skip lines for photos or AquaMouse. For your next cruise will you choose the Wish again or one of the other DCL ships? You guys rock. Happy Thanksgiving.

I’ve been on 10 of the cruises and have NEVER seen a trivia medal like that! They usually are red fabric with WINNER printed around it and have a rubber mickey shaped medallion they says Disney Cruise Line. Very interesting!!!

The Castaway Cay 5k that’s part of marathon weekend is called Castaway Challenge and you don’t have to do the marathon to qualify. You can do any distance during marathon weekend and have signed up for the castaway challenge. My sister and I are doing the 5K during marathon weekend and are doing the castaway challenge. It will be our very first cruise too!

The Wish and the Fantasy are the only ships sailing out of Port Canaveral right now. Pre-wish, they sailed on the fantasy a lot and cruises on the fantasy are a lot longer (7 day minimum)

I was on this same cruise and also stayed concierge. I didn’t go into the lounge a lot but every time I did they addressed me by name and would ask about my mom if she wasn’t with me, would stop what they were doing and talk to me about my pins in my lanyard and about how my day was going. I think the service, the food, and the lounge/deck are worth going concierge alone, but then rooms are wonderful as well. I spent alot of time at night on the verandah, it was beautiful. We also did a back to back cruise and didn’t have a concierge room for the second cruise, and we loved it so much as soon as we got in the terminal again, we went to guest services and booked a concierge suite. The service on the second cruise was even better! I just think that everyone’s experience is different, but concierge is 100% worth it, and I wouldn’t stay non concierge if I can help it😁 we were also always pretty lucky with the elevators up to the 13th floor, it was never really a problem for us😁

@@Jimiantwon I did a week when he was about seven months old. Two weeks when he was one and a half. The main issue is space in the room really. We just got normal outside rooms with no balcony so it was very tight for space, especially with my daughters wheelchair and the babies pram. We had a really small travel cot and put that at the bottom of the beds at night. We travelled very light with clothes because of all the baby stuff we needed! My daughter also had nutritional feeds etc so had to find room for them too. Do you know what it was good. You just make the most of it. I was fortunate to be able to do these holidays and was grateful. I enjoyed them way more than flying! A lot more relaxed! Sorry I didn’t answer your question! None of us suffered with motion sickness. It seemed to help the baby settle if anything!

Please never blame the baby brother for something the older brother can not do. I’m sure you didn’t realize it but by telling Jackson he can not go on another cruise for a long time because of his baby brother was sooooo wrong. That will harbor resentment. Especially, because Jackson loves cruises so much. I've only sailed on Holland America, the last time being eight years ago. They had a couple of trivia tournaments on the cruise. Daily winners got little Holland America branded swag like a pin or a memo cube. I was once part of a team that was the overall winner for the cruise ,but I can't remember what we won.
