This is such a handsome sedan, everything is very well layed out. What would have been cool is if Mazda incorporated a GPS into the the right dial so you could see your map. However, it was a nice touch to have the heated seats incorporated into the rear center console

The only thing that kept me from buying another mazda6 is the fact that they no longer offer a v6.184hp is pathetic. I will give up some mpg for power. I would love to see mazda compete with the camry, kia stinger, Honda accord and fusion v6 engines. would be nice to see a AWD 300-360hp TT v6.
@Trades467 жыл бұрын
After driving one I know where most are coming from. The white Nappa leather is beautiful but that white color is something I likely don't want to deal with down the road. Radar cruise & navigation are nice however, but the best thing is really the light & taut driving dynamics. The biggest weakness however is outright power; come on Mazda put in the 2.5 Skyactiv turbo from the CX-9!
@steelheart41487 жыл бұрын
It needs the CX-9 Turbo engine as an option to compete with the Accord 2.0 turbo and the Camry V-6.

This is a very nice car! I dont mind the look of the toaster screen on the dash but I would prefer if at least had the option of having it retract like it does in the Audi's. However, Audi is doing away with those screens in favor of in dash infotainment systems so I dont think think the toaster screen fad will last much longer. Also I think what would make it better is if make the borders around the screen smaller and give it more of an edge to edge display so it would look a little better

How is the soundproofing in Mazda 6? (The road noise, wind noise and so on.....)Thank you^^
@n0o0bplayinggames547 жыл бұрын
check auto decibels website or test drive the car yourself. You can also download one of those "sound meter" apps on your phone and get the result yourself during the test drive. I think at 70 mph the cabin noise of a 2017 Mazda 6 is around 65-66 decibels Wind noise- you can check the seals around the doors and replace them if you like Road noise- replace the stock tires with better tires.. but if the car has 19" wheels you are looking at $600+ for 4 new tires (cheaper if they are 17") doing those things can help reduce the cabin noise of this car.. but don't overspend on noise insulation

Have you driven the Mazda 3 2.5 w/ the manual? If not, I'd be really interested in your thoughts on that vehicle.
@BFCINTL7 жыл бұрын
The 6MT on the 2.5 is not the best pairing for the engine. The gearing is so long (for fuel economy) that it takes a lot of the fun out. The auto is the better transmission, but you should test drive both if you're in the market. This is coming from someone who owns a 6MT 2.5L Mazda3.
@buchajo7 жыл бұрын
I have an older 2.5 3s (auto). Sucks gas like you wouldn't believe when you get on it, but very very fun to drive. It was before Skyactiv days. It's a '10 in Celestial Blue. Absolute hoot to drive, and you don't see a lot in that color either.
@EconomyElk Жыл бұрын
As much as I like my 2014 6 I gotta agree it’s slow. During my driving test I drove a a 2018 camery and my driving instructor told me to floor it when we got up to a on ramp and holy shit that thing boogied. My biggest issue with the N/A 2.5 other than it’s slow is that it has no character. Slow cars can be way fun N/A straight piped rx7’s or 1.6 Miata’s for example are a blast even though your going nowhere cause they sound god and they crackle and pop a little which is always fun. The 2.5 even with a intake and exhaust doesn’t emit very exciting or pleasing sound. inline 4s can sound good but the 2.5 is meh tone wise. there’s no popping or anything with the stock tune either. It’s also tuned very much for economy and you can feel it when driving. My old 96 4.6 2V v8 ford thunderbird despite being a large heavy coupe with a lot of body roll was way more fun around the canyons. Throw on some flowmaster super 10s and Lock out over drive and it was a blast rwd with a mountain of low end torque plus hearing the aggressive 2valve v8 growl and the pops and bangs echo off the canyon walls as you slow down for a sharp turn was always fun. The N/A 2.5 is a very refined motor which is great but it’s just not very exciting sounding and just kinda buzzy and meh sounding no matter what you do which makes me sad. To be clear in not talking about the car it’s self the 6 has plenty of character and is fun as heck the motor is great but the N/A 2.5 sound wise leaves me wanting more. It’s not a very good sounding motor.

are skyactiv engines with direct injection as prone to carbon build up as others? i was looking into getting the mazda6 until i found out it was a gdi.. makes me hesitant. i want a car that wont have to be in the shop every 50k miles to remove the build up... i also know nothing really about cars and wouldnt feel comfortable trying to clean it myself. toyotas dont interest me, honda accord is my other choice however the newer models are also gdi engines.

My '08 Mazda6 has been driven hard for the past 9 years. Now has 100,000 miles on it. Very very reliable. I've taken care of it and that's probably part of it. But, I'm very comfortable buying another 6, and keeping it for the long term. I'm likely trading up to a '16 GT later this year. Mazda in general makes very reliable vehicles. I've had 3 Mazda vehicles in the past decade, with 2 in the garage right now.
