Toyota really needs to make a Ford Maverick competitor. Using the current design language there’s no doubt it would look awesome. Throw the 2.5L NA hybrid from their RAV4 Hybrid and Highlander Hybrid and bam, will sell like hotcakes.

In 1999 I paid $22k for a brand new fully loaded Tacoma extended cab TRD Off Road. In 2007 I paid $28k for a brand new Tundra SR5 double cab with the bucket seats, 5.7, and TRD Off Road package (2wd). In 2017 I paid $38K for a brand new 4runner TRD Off Road premium with KDSS, sunroof etc. $56K for a Tacoma is obscene. Even if you manage 15% off, that's still $47.6k. No way. You can still easily buy a 2024 5th gen 4runner 4wd for that price.

Which gives better Smile Per Gallon, the Raptor or the MAX? The old 3.5L did not have to suck. @YerBoyTroy7 ай бұрын
im curious what the dyno curve is on the hybrids. does it really hit 465 lb-ft? Or are they just adding both of the power outputs together? Considering its a not a plug in hybrid, most charging happens through brake regen and alternator, im assuming the hybrid system has to actively manage the motor output to save battery. I hear that the motor only hits max output during the turbo spooling period or full throttle and under full throttle only a small window of full output. Something tells me the hybrid system isnt putting 326 HP and 465 lb-ft to the ground in the way we think it does. Would be good to have a detailed explanation of this. Otherwise the truck looks mint, if price were less of an obstacle id trade my 3rd gen in for one of these
@alexsmba7 ай бұрын
Not sure what you’re getting at. To quote Trump, I don’t think you know either 😂- but yes, the power output quoted is combined gas and electric motor, but it is actually producing that much torque at 1700rpm. In the same way that a V6 puts out its combined torque of 4 of the cylinders plus the other two. There’s no trickery to it. It’s real.
@tsafaАй бұрын

Genuinely hoping we get a pricing revision for 2025 model year, considering Q1 sales were down 60% I think and Taco’s are sitting on lots all across the country
@thatoneotherotherguy7 ай бұрын
Q1 sales were partially down due to slowdowns the generation changeover and ramp-up create. That said, yes, they did shoot too high on pricing, and they took away the promotional financing rates that the previous gen enjoyed for years. I'm seeing $1-3k off MSRP offered on pretty much any 2024 Tacoma trim all over the place. They would be foolish to increase MSRP for 2025, it better either hold flat or slightly drop.
