I have heart problems so now I have to take breaks more often, so now I am downsizing and making it more simple for myself and family. Everything I have or have been watching has helped with this. Keeping only what we need and use. I was just keeping stuff for what if. but now , I don’t know what might happen. So for now getting rid of the things we don’t need will help my family move forward and it has been less stress on me knowing that my house will look decent and that my family can find the things they need and not the clutter. I would like to say thank you to your family and your parents for putting your lives on you tube for me to take away so many ideas and not be so worried about my life and if my family could go forward. They will be able to now.

I'm sorry to hear of your serious health problems but am inspired by your good attitude! I needed to hear this as I am dealing with a chronic health issue myself. I had to downsize and move to a 1st floor apartment and am having to give up Sporting equipment for the active life I used to lead before getting sick. It is hard to get used too.

I redecorated with Ikea and Amazon purchases recently. Spent $200 in all, and am very happy with a calmer color scheme. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to redecorate. Also, repurpose what you can is an excellent way to organize as well, and that’s free.

First off, I do love your channel. So, thank you for all your wonderful content. (And I love when your mom is featured, as we’re about the same age). Anyway, I haven’t finished watching this video yet but I felt compelled to comment. I do appreciate the reasons you don’t decant. It absolutely is time consuming and potentially expensive. But, there are those people (like me), who have been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD (which may or may not even be pertinent) who *need* to have that uniform, attractive appearance of things in pretty containers. It puts my mind at ease and it makes my heart happy. Furthermore, knowing that if I declutter a space, I can easily make it beautiful by decanting and using beautiful containers (even if it’s behind a cabinet), it gives me the incentive to keep going. This certainly isn’t meant as criticism, I just wanted to let you know that there are probably other (non-influencer) reasons people go to the trouble to decant, etc. and use pretty containers. Again, thank you for your content. You are definitely inspiring and motivational.

Great video❤ when I heard you say, in your office, you started using a notebook rather than writing things on scrap paper. One thing I did when I started using a notebook. Was to make like a Table of Contents in the front of my notebook . When I write an important phone number down, I number the page and write the number in table of contents. If I write a recipe. I number the page and write it in the front again. Now I don't have to search through all the pages to find what I need. I can just look at the Table of Content. Hope this helps ❤

I loved this video and as a mom to 6 I can so relate. I don’t decant things either, it’s consumed so fast it’s a waste of time 😂 I’ve been decluttering things the kids outgrow if it can’t be passed down to another child which helped a lot with the clutter! I noticed gardien in your freezer, we eat that too! 😊

Happy Saturday, Shannon. I have not commented in a bit but as always, I have continued to always enjoy each video upload & appreciate each bit of content so much😊 I am at the same point that you are in all of these tips and I love how they brought us to a peaceful home. I will continue to watch and recommend your channel to anyone who ever asks about intentional living and a peaceful home. If someone was just starting out and they started at the beginning of your content, they would no doubt get to the point where I am now. it is so lovely❤ I Really like how you shared your amazon store front. I used to have a set of those candles, and they melted in a move. I have recently decided to stop burning real candles because I don't like the scent, the soot, and the upkeep of the wicks, not to mention open flame, which makes me nervous. Back when our kids were just age one and three, I was putting them down for a nap and we were having storytime. I accidentally fell asleep reading to them. I had a candle burning in the kitchen and a piece of paper must have blown off the counter from the breeze of the window. I woke up to see flames but it had just begun-so I was able to get them out quickly. Ever since then, I just have been nervous about flame. I don't know why it is taking me so long to finally ditch candles for good. I think I just needed to become more minimal and intentional. And that is caused me to make much better decisions in every aspect of life. I guess I share the story to say that when your life is more calm and peaceful, you just find you don't need all of the extra, and decision making just seems more clear😊 Our robot broke this week and i've decided not to replace it. It seemed, I was always micromanaging it, trying to get it to not bump into our 🐶 pup who is older and can't see well. I realized that this decusion also is making me more intentional to just vacuum with the regular vacuum. Sometimes, simple is just better. I wish you a super happy weekend- We are enjoying summer temps in the low 90's & the 1st of my husband's garden tomatoes, eggplant, & jalapeños 🍆🍅🌶❤😊

Hi Julia, It's always great to hear from you! I feel the same way about real candles. I am very afraid of them accidentally catching something on fire and with little kids I don't want to take the risk. When I first decluttered I thought I didn't need or want fake candles, but over time I realized even though some might think of them as clutter I feel they give our home a cozy feel and they are worth having around in our home. It sounds like your garden is going great! I hope you are enjoying summer =)

I think it’s best to live with things for awhile and see what works for you. Don’t try and organize everything right away. You may find you don’t like items where you originally put them. Then you may have wasted money on organizers that don’t fit the next space you move them to. 😊

Hello, I don't separate black and color clothes, but if I have a white shirt that I want to keep bright I will wash that separately. I usually hang my clothes (that I want to keep nice). I will lay thick sweaters flat so they don't get misshaped.
