you mentioned the Cypher is invalid if the B leg touches the 78.6 when drawing X to C...so is that any touch as in wicks or an actual close past 78.6?

Hey David, I just prefer using the triangle tool. I do not like how cluttered the XABCD tool makes the chart look. Just personal preference, nothing is wrong with that tool though. Thanks for the comment!

I'm wondering if you take any fundamentals into consideration when you trade. it was Highly anticipated that the feds would raise interest rate on Wednesday. which explains why after the USD/YPY continue to consolidate and then surge up 200 +pips after the announcement. I'm guessing you didn't reach your target , you could of make some good money

Anticipation does not move markets, buying and selling does. The USDJPY pair consolidated, which is a signal that the trend is likely to continue as there was no selling; no fundamental analysis was necessary.

zdrux he was expecting a downward movement to complete his bat formation. but it seems he neglected to take into account the Fed's announcement which caused a quiet market untill the Feds said if they were going to raise the rates (which they did) . all traders do is anticipat the market. when you sell you anticipate the market will go down, when you buy you anticipate the market will go up . and when the feds are going to release a statement about interest rates which highly affects the US dollar the markets consolidate in anticipation. the ideal strategy is composed of fundamental and technical analysis

I can see that many of your pattern that fails? it was not the impression I had of your videos, but maybe it's normal?

Yes that is normal, a few of them failed because of a news announcement that came out the next day. A single day of losing trades is not very important in the profitability of a strategy or pattern. The whole point of a profitable strategy is that it is profitable over a long period of time, not all the time. Losing is a large part of trading in any market and on average, if trading all 3 of the main advanced patterns, I will have around a 62% winning ratio. That means that I will have a lot of losses, but that is a slight edge over the market. Thanks for the comment!
