I would imagine that some women have toiletries that aren’t found in a regular store (like myself). But it’s still possible to bring everything by using small containers for the custom creams, shampoo, etc. I travel with a tsa approved zip lock for liquids and a dop kit bag and everything fits. Also, for shoes it’s sneakers (worn on the plane) and sandals (packed in carryon) which covers all scenarios - it’s easier in colder destinations as that’s usually just one pair of boots on my feet.

I've travelled with a 30-40l backpack for about 25 years and your packing list looks good to me 👍. I don't have that much tech with me so I have more room for other things. I think that 8-10 kg carry on limit is easy to archieve but 5 kg is a bit more tricky, although I have done that too. I pack with one thing in mind, what I need for a week is what I can live with basically forever. I try to pack light weight and fast drying materials like viscose and tencel but merino and other wool is always an option too especially in winter. I'm just about to travel from Northern Finland to Turkey for two weeks and here's my packing list: - 4 dresses (1 for travelling, 1 for beach and 2 for day trips and dinners) - 5 pairs of cotton leggings, different lenghts - 6 pairs of undies and 3 bras - 4 pairs of socks (3 of light weight merino and 1 heavier wool) - 1 pair of light weight shorts - 1 skirt - 4 shirts (1 longsleeved for travel and covering up if needed, 2 short sleeved and 1 for sleeping) - 2 pairs of bikinis - 2 scarfs (a thin one and a pashmina) - 3 pairs of shoes (light weight sneakers, ballerina type dressier shoes, and flipflops) - 1 travel towel - My every day toiletries plus sunscreen and hand sanitazer - A water bottle - An emergengy kit with bandages, painkillers and diarrhea meds (after a few tourist diarrheas I won't leave my home without them 😅) - Ear plugs - An IKEA packable light weight backpack for a day pack - 2 trash bags for dirty and wet clothes - My tech (phone, over-ear and in-ear head phones, and couple of power banks plus a USB-C charger and an extra cable) - A small cross body hand bag to keep the needed valuables close to my body On this trip I'm expecting hot weather so no need for a jacket or other heavier clothes but my packing list looks a lot like this one even when I'm travelling back home to the Arctic Circle to see my family in winter because even in -20 weather I usually wear dresses and leggins, just multiple layers and woolly materials.

If you work for an airline and get standby flying privileges, you will learn to fly with one bag which you carry-on. We would literally walk down an airport lobby, look at the gate, determine how many seats were available on the flight, and determine our chances of getting on a particular flight. Usually our choices were London, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Rome or Venice. Spent a week living out of a backpack while going through Amsterdam, Belgium, Paris, and London. Also, a single backpack easily allows you to use the public transit.

When I go camping for a week or more, all my personal essentials (minus camping gear) fit in a very small backpack. 3-4 pairs of undies/bras, 3 pairs of hiking pants (light weight, convertible, quick drying), 3-4 pairs of socks, 3 performance t-shirts, one set of merino wool under layers, 1 set of rain gear, gloves, hat & UL down jacket (weather dependent), 1 pair of hike/bike shoes, 1-2 pair of camp shoes (sandals and down camp slippers if it’s cold), and one set of sleeping clothes. For toiletries: a travel toothbrush, sample sized tooth paste, floss, sample sized deodorant, comb, razor, camp soap (for body, hair, and clothes), travel sized conditioner, chapstick, sunscreen, hand lotion, and prescriptions. For technology: my phone, 1-2 battery bricks, a tiny charger cable combo set, & USB chargeable headlamp. I also never leave home without a first aid kit. Depending on my trip, it can be super tiny or a bit more extensive if I’m in the back country. When I’m camping, I work by the wear one, wash one, spare one philosophy. One set of clothes to wear, one clean set for the next day, and one dirty set to wash. My sleep wear I only use when actually sleeping and wash every few days. That is where the camp soap comes in. It can be used as body wash, shampoo, and laundry soap.

Most European airlines limit carry-on luggage to 5-10 kg and certain dimensions. If you count all your electronics, you will be above the weight limit. Also, I didn’t see you pack a hoody, shoes, laptop and your camera in your backpack. So I wonder if there’s still enough space in your backpack for those items.

Even as a lady I get by with 2 pairs of shoes (or even 1 on shorter trips). One "normal" pair I'd wear every day, and one slightly fancier usually with a block heel so it can still be versatile. I can make outfits work around that. If I reeeaally need something special I'll swap one of the two out for a special pair but that's not a gender-specific situation. Men flying out to a formal event are also going to have to pack formal attire.

My wife and I traveled full time for almost 2 years. Few packing tips: 1.) Packing: Buy a neck pillow with removable insides. Shove all of your small clothes inside of it like socks, underwear, etc. you can wear the neck pillow around your neck when boarding the plane and going through bag check and luggage claim. They never check your neck pillow for weight so it saves a lot of space in your pack. Wear your bulkiest clothes when you’re getting on the plane to save space in your pack. I would often wear a light pair of shorts and a T-shirt with my jeans and a jacket over them getting on the plane. Then I would go into the bathroom on the plane and remove the jeans and shove them in my pack, along with my jacket once we’re in the air. 2.) Baggage Claim: When weighing your carry on and personal item, keep heavier items in the pockets of your jacket so after they weigh them, you can throw them back in your carry on afterwards. 3.) Security: Liquids must be in their own bag and a lot of airlines require you to remove your laptops and extended displays or tablets during security check. I would keep my laptop and extended screen in a compartment that’s easy to access and my liquid bag in the same compartment so I could just remove them together easily and quickly. Try to have them already out before you have to remove them though to save time.

For a 3-day weekend trip I pack a set of clothes, toilet-tech-meds in a shopping bag! I love jeans and Dickies short sleeve work shirts! Uniqlo makes a perfect down jacket! Longer trips and cruises, I take 3 sets of clothes + the one I wear and enough toilet-tech-meds to last. Don’t forget Passports! ‘What you use at home is what you use away’ Just two small cheap backpacks, one a carry on and a personal item. I feel like I’m cheating sometimes. You get used to it …

It's weird that I'd likely have a template somewhat similar, but if I was given the packing list given here, I'd likely see some of them as a little redundant and actually get rid of/replace some of them. For example, there are swim trunks designed to be nice enough to wear as nice shorts. And there are workout shorts that can double as swim trunks (like these Vuori ones with a toned down pattern). And I've never needed compression shorts, as my boxer briefs do just fine (but probably stick to black). There's probably a hybrid between the workout shoes and Vans, but you'd still bring a second pair of shoes, Chacos, etc. It's probably important to remember he said the Vans are suitable for MORE formal - not ACTUALLY formal - occasions. And who doesn't like all black Vans w gum soles? Obviously a person can consider scaling back from 4 to 3 pair of socks/underwear. Ultimately, though, I'd likely bring just as much. It would just shift a little her or there, like with any of us.

I travel months at a time for work. For clothing I always bring 12 pairs of underwear, 14 pairs of t-shirts, 13 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, 12 pairs of shocks, and 1 light jacket (I do not wear cotton). This only takes up 75% of my carryon bag (Monos Carry-On Pro Plus). Fully packed it weighs about 30lbs. I do not use packing cubes or roll my clothes, as they seem bulky and do not compress as good. Laundry approximately every 2 weeks. For toiletries; mainly toothbrush/tooth paste, floss, and my waterpik in the Peak Design toiletries bag (small). Hotels provide most bath amenities that I need. And I still have room for my electronics.
@Ompasikom Жыл бұрын
I think the #1 consideration before you start packing is laundry. If you have a good way to do laundry (quick-dry clothing, access to washing machines, laundry service, wash in sink, bring own collapsible bucket & detergent, whatever) you don't even have to pack! Just wash your clothes every night (while wearing your pajamas) and re-wear them in the morning. 😀 And BTW, how about pajamas? What do you wear to bed? Your daytime clothes? Or do you sleep naked? Also, why 3 shirts but 4 underwear? Why not pair them up? 😀
@ZombieTomato10 ай бұрын
Good luck finding a place to hang your clothes in most hostels, particularly if you get the bottom bed in a bunk. If you choose to pay for washing/drying it's currently 10 euro a pop. I wash my underwear and socks in the shower until one big laundry day where I pay for it and wash all my clothes. I have washed pants and shirts in showers but it's unrealistic to do so in every hostel you stay. Also, even quick drying clothes sometimes don't dry out completely if you sleep 7 h and leave the hostel in the morning.

I dig your vids, thanks 👊💥 however I personally disagree with the "avoid backpacks that have just one pocket" statement. I love having a big empty shell. I can then use super thing organisers or packing cubes dependant on my needs for that particular trip. After I've arrived at my destination, I want my pack to be super light and mostly empty. When I have bought technical backpacks in the past, I'm always frustrated by the sheer weight and bulkiness of the thing. Now I prefer two bag travel, I backpack + roller as I'm a business traveler not a leisure one, but a few years back I started using the Kanken Laptop (with the extra cup sleeve and document organiser) and I haven't looked back. I can easily get two days travel with just this (more if I went with the 17") and once I get to my hotel it's back to it's super light low profile form.

Also i will get rid of some of my camera gear to free up some more space! I would also get rid of any duplicates, like 1 pair of pants, one warm sweatshirt. I just make sure to bring stuff i can wear more than once. But wearing your heavy stuff is going to be the way to go in my opinion. hope this helps, but maybe i will do a winter packing video at some point!

Because of my electronics it is quite heavy! I don't know the exact weight but if I had to guess, I would say 20lbs! Thanks for watching our video❤️

I travel international at least 4 to 5 times a year and no way that bag will be allowed under seat baggage .. Yes, if you take one carry on airlines might allow but this is not under the seat .. but over head .. definitely ..
@ZombieTomato10 ай бұрын
Yeah, 30 L is smaller but close to carry on limit, not personal item. He got this completely wrong.

On budget airlines bag larger than 20L aren't accepted. Ryanair, Vueling, Frontier, etc

Is the top compartment connected to the bottom? If not, can it be at all connected, or is al sealed? It would be great to be able to have a one big compartment. Potential buyer here.
@thetravelcoaches Жыл бұрын
There is a divider between the top and bottom compartment but it can be removed which is nice! So that way you could just have one big pocket if you need!

IDK what airlines you fly, but a 31 liter fits under very few airline seats....
@omasima Жыл бұрын
anyways should fit as cabine lugagge over head in every "normal" airline. and i mean AF, KLM, Etihad, British etc not low cost airlines
@ZombieTomato10 ай бұрын
@@omasimaEven low cost but you have to pay extra.
@michaelmaramba702 Жыл бұрын

There wasn't anything against rain. And I quess this packing list for warm temperatures > 10C
@ZombieTomato10 ай бұрын
Exactly, I got rained on several days on my last trip and I needed an umbrella, a second pair of shoes because the other got wet, and I maybe I should have brought a rain poncho.

Don’t think the bag will fit under an economy seat.
