It is cool, but I honestly feel too many of these moments are kinda what's wrong with Superman in the modern era. Modern movies keep trying to have these extended CG scenes where Superman is doing all this crazy OP stuff. Sup is at his best when he uses his powers the least and shows how much heart and humanity he has. But yeah, I'm not going to claim that I don't like a good sup beat down as much as the next guy! :-D

@@arkhaan7066 I respect your opinions on this, but I do have to say: isn't that the literal crux of the Superman character? He's an alien with a human heart? He was raised in Smallville by the Kents who raised him right and taught him morality.

@@solamon77 it is, which is why I don’t typically like Superman or his portrayals. Stuff like this where he gets to be radically different is really cool because it’s different from that perspective. I agree completely. There is something that the Snyder movies didn't really capture (until the the Snyder Cut I think) of Superman which is apparent in the Timverse. There was a bit too much edge to him as a norm in the former, whereas the latter had his more angry and human parts come out when it made the most impact. It was the opposite of the 'The Joker is scariest when he stops laughing' Supes is scariest when he just doesn't have anymore faith in you.

It makes me laugh that just the weight of Supermans arms would be enough to break those handcuffs so he honestly probably spent more energy holding his arms in that position so he didn't break them by just letting his arms hang 😂
@SteelNight7 Жыл бұрын
Supermans arms are normal weight. The way I look at it though, it's whatever Superman wills to be. He wasn't using any will power to break the cuffs but he also didn't have to use any will power to not break the cuffs either. But as soon as he wanted to, the cuffs split apart as if they were never even attached.
@JFitable Жыл бұрын
@@SteelNight7 Superman's actual super power is "Hope". When he needs to do whatever it is that needs doing, he just hopes he can do it and does it. It's like his capability scales with increased levels of hope. Like how the Hulk gets stronger as he gets angrier. Now, this isn't the LITERAL explanation of his power, but as a character in a story that is his power. Over the decades his power levels have shifted and we've over explained the strongest superhero but it really all boils down to hope. And honestly? It symbolically makes really good stories, and that's what we love most about him. When his theme song heroically starts up, you get hyped, the hope climaxes, and you explode into cinematic triumph.

@@RocketDraco47 Just because he made some business decisions that worked out for him, is no reason to worship the guy. A massive ego and wealthy parents, who pay for your University education, are a good start in business and a safety net for gambling on investments. Many people make similar decisions, but don't have the luck that it were the right ones. If they had, they would be the richest man or woman in the world now. Don't confuse chance with foresight. You forgot the biggest flex of all. In the original movie he flies around the earth so fast that not only does he change its rotation, but he turns back time, too. He’s so powerful that he defies logic and physics.
@TFBidia2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. And he lifted up tectonic plates beforehand right?
@somersetcace12 жыл бұрын
You didn't know that all you have to do is reverse the rotation of the Earth and it will turn back time? You don't even have to reverse the revolution around the sun, or the sun around the galaxy, or the galaxy around the supercluster. etc. Nope, just make the Earth spin backwards. And don't worry, slowing down and reversing Earth's rotation that quickly, won't have any negative effects!🤣
@lnwolf75632 жыл бұрын
@@somersetcace1 Sometimes it is necessary to put science in fiction, and sometimes its best to just let a super hero be a super hero for the entertainment value. When I saw that scene as a little kid I got all hyped about it and I didnt care that it was actually stupid. I still dont, but hey be a spoil sport for someone else if that is what makes you happy.

It always intrigues me how Supes regains his powers so quickly during the middle of the night, when the sun is completely hidden on the other side of the planet.
@corywalsh84912 жыл бұрын
His power comes from the radiation from the sun. At nighttime, tho the sunlight is gone the radiation from it still remains.
@paulw50392 жыл бұрын
There amount of solar radiation that would fall on his body would only power an infinitesimal amount of his strength anyhow. I read a short story by Stephen Baxter (hard sci-fi) about supes that tried to reconcile that with him directly drawing power from the sun via a singularity-based wormhole connecting his body to the heart of the sun. Thus he can draw on massive amounts of energy very quickly.
@joshjones97492 жыл бұрын
His body stores solar power. Unless its drained its always there.

Superman's real weakness is his genuine moral code. No one would even get a chance to deploy kryptonite against him if he just killed his enemies at the first sign of trouble or stopped bringing the worst ones to jail and letting them get additional chances to escape and try again.
