same I spent over $100 worth and sold $100 worth to my parents for birthday cards. the rest I didn't spend I just deposited back into my bank account. They where where hard to come by. the most I got at one bank was $110 worth.

the answer is yes. 2 dollars is worth two dollars. I even pick up one cent coins or penny's as commonly called.

The other day, I was at school, and when school ended, i found a stray 2 dollar bill! I immediately grabbed it and ran away. It was unusual to find dropped coins or bills, so this 2 dollar bill was definitely a good one!

If I found a 2 dollar bill in the street, I would pick it up and look around. If no one seemed to have dropped it, I would take it and put it in my wallet to spend later on food or groceries.

Great experiment in the powers of observation. I am always on the lookout. Some months ago, some papers were jumping around in my yard. I quickly went out and found two $100 bills. Obviously, some poor soul lost them and they were simply blowing in the wind. My cousin walks a lot in Spokane WA and usually collects about $200 per year in street change. She annually donates to the church from this hoard.

That's a great question I don't know the answer to. I do know that $2 bills have been seen in several TV shows and movies. I have an idea to do a video on that, but I wouldn't have the right to show those clips. I'll look into the music lyrics though. Thanks.

Great video! I can't believe how people don't pay attention to money on the ground. I mean, really? It seems like I used to find money a lot when I was a kid. But then again, I did a lot more walking/biking around back then too. If I found your $2 bill I would have spent it for sure. I have a stash of them already so I don't need more. Well… finding money on the ground is just a lot rarer than it used to be. A lot of people dont use cash, and just use debit or credit cards.

If i found a $2 dollar bill i would first check to see if it is a star note and look it up and see if it was rare,then i would look at the serial numbers for repeaters or binaries or if its a trinary if it is none of the above i will give it to my grandson to spend:)

Decades ago, when I went to Cedar Point, I was waiting for in a roller coaster line, and someone stuck some chewed up gum, and an old style $20 bill on the ground, before the $20 bill was redesigned the first time (a small portrait $20 bill, so you know how long ago that was) on top of the gum, and I heard people saying "It's fake" but someone did pick he supposed "fake" $20 up a few seconds later, which led me to question what the deal really was, there. As I said, that was a year before the $20 bill's first redesign, in either 1997 or 1998, that this happened.

As much as I really want to know this too, I’m afraid it’s nearly impossible. The only way this can be found out, is if everyone was tracked and everyone’s moves watched, or if bills could be scanned via their serial number into the computer when you pay for something.

I have a 1953 $2 silver certificate bill, as well as a $5 silver certificate same year, I think I’m going to go the bank and get a stack of $200 worth of $2 bills just to keep for a while, I think they’re quite interesting, plus if they ever stop making them maybe they’ll be worth something to my family on down the line (only 18 now so that’s a long time from now)

It was balled up. If they saw it and guessed it was money at all, they would have checked (wouldn't you?). They had no way of knowing what denomination it was until they picked it up.

We do have a rule when I find coins or cash from the ground. In our culture, if we find anything money related, we have to find the owner of the money. It's wrong for us to take the money that we found as ours on the ground or even from a CoinStar. If we can't, there are boxes you can put the money in for helping the poor.

I imagine it would be tough to find the owner of a bill that was lost on a New York street, so giving it to the poor is a great idea.

@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary It is mainly because our culture doesn't allow taking the lost money in any way, so the only thing we can do is to just to put it inside a "sadaka" box (sadaka is like a part of a mosque in a store meant for helping the poor.). Hopefully you know that we are turks.

Did Nikola Tesla have any ties to the $2.00 bill? Or the Bryant park hotel? I’m very curious of this because when I worked at Bryant park I would cash my check in $2.00 bills. The banks in Times Square were the only banks that kept over a few grand in them on hand. I have always been looking.

Because people mistakenly think they're rare or are worth more. They look at them as collector's items - erroneously. Until the mainstream public realizes they are regular currency and are actually a convenient denomination to use, people will continue to hoard them and be afraid to spend one when they get one It's that simple.

I think it would be fun to go to a grade school (with permission form the school) then go into a classroom and hand each child with a 2 bill then ask them if it is real, is it rare, and if they would spend it after you tell them that they are real and for the most part not collectable.
