I absolutely love how relaxed Karl is in this interview. Craig is a fantastic host and I genuinely think he treats Karl with so much respect, other interviewers treat Karl like a round-headed twonk and constantly talk about his time working with Ricky and Steve. It’s great to hear new stories from Karl. Great podcast.

It would be a bit of a dilemma if I ever saw Karl in the street as I love him and would so want to talk to him and squoze his head but I know he doesn’t like the attention really. he’d just be like “don’t know you, not bothered” think I’d just stick to a little “alright Karl” and move on. I’m sad that Karl doesn’t know why he’s loved. I for one love him for his down to earth character, his insight on life, his honestly. He’s so bloody relatable. How he enjoys the simplicities in life, how often, if ever, do you see that with people on TV? I love him as a person, I can say that i’d be pretty damn starstruck to see one of my favourite people of all time in the wild.

I've listened to karls podcasts every sleep bar about 11 since i was 19. I'm 34 now. Xfm and the ricky gervais show are like comfort blankets to me. Even camping or staying at a girlfriends house I'll have it on my phone next to my head. The queen is nothing to this man in my life and many others. Every single night, sleep time, lets listen to this xfm radio show for the millionth time. Every time i feel like I listened to this one the night before because I'm so familiar with them. I spend more time listening to karl than i do with my son or working

It's not just because he's been on the telly. It's because I've listened to hours and hours of conversations with him (repeatedly) and he's honestly one of my favourite humans. If I saw him in person, I'd be so conflicted, I'd be like "I know he doesn't want to be bothered... But... This guy is legendary to me. Yes, he's just an average bloke... But he's a legend" He's on my list of top 5 people I'd like to have a pint with.

I'm only 18 and Karl made me laugh more than anyone else. I discovered him about two years ago and I watched pretty much everything he's in. I listened to the podcast and all the rest of it. I love him because he's an uneducated intellectual. He's got no ego. And I agree with a lot of stuff he says.

I got the internet in 2005. Karl helped me get through some dark times just by listening to his podcasts that was free on Guardian Unlimited that started on the 5th December 2005. Its now 20-years later and I'm still listening to his podcasts, XFM radio shows etc and its just the best thing ever.

I love this. Karl is absolutely right, he's changed. Much brighter and more philosophical outlook on life. He uses great analogies to make valid points. What hasn't changed is that he's an absolutely lovely bloke. I would rather spend a day with him than with any other celebrity I admire. And to answer his question: the reason people look up to him is because he's been one of the funniest men alive for over 15 years. The amount of joy he's given people is immeasurable

I also feel if this was on the old podcast what Karl says at 17:52 would be picked up on and would turn into a 10 minute bit about them calling it "ridiculous" or "twaddle" and Karl expanding on his 'theory'. "What so you mean your cells change and you become a different person every seven years? So how many people have you been Karl? I've never heard such twaddle!"

Karl has evolved way beyond idiot status. He’s never been an idiot, he simply has a comically simple take. His questioning of purpose and how he admires people with passion up to the point of death….he’s incredibly thoughtful and dare I say it, an unwilling intellectual. I also am blown away by his post-podcast interviews, he is genuinely interested in learning the lives of others. If he had a talk show, it would be absolutely massive and deservedly so.

Karl talking about the UK weather in the Winter is why people in the U.S. flock to Florida when they retire or for the Winter months at least. In the UK I've heard that's why they retire to the Canary Islands. Whatever, the Winter seems to affect us more negatively when we get into our "Golden" years.

His analogy of comparing himself to Homer Simpson is spot on, Karl is not ageless like a cartoon character he’s just like every other person who’s behaviour, attitude and outlook inevitably change with age and experience.

Phwoar those were some super insightful musings from Karl which i really needed. Especially the bits about friends and where to go with your life. That homer simpson comment at the end also struck a cord. Karl never fails to get me thinking, and laughing, at his views on things. Its sort of a shame that he doesnt appreciate what his fans admire about him. I wonder if he wouls stop worrying so much about stuff..
