And you’ve donated ukuleles to incarcerated boys in Grafton, IL! These ukes are played on a daily basis! The fellas love to pluck around on them and we can see their fears and anxiety melt away. It’s so beautiful! Can’t share pics due to confidentiality, but picture a 17 year old boy who has experienced trauma that we can’t imagine and fallen into the world of gangs and crime….just sitting on my red yoga ball, looking down at a ukulele and noodling around. It’s truly a beautiful site!! 💕🙏🏾🙏🏻🙏🏿🙏💕

Hi Zanifer. I have been to Trinidad. I stayed in Port of Spain, but got down to San Fernando, too. I used to play pan, and directed the northernmost steel band in the world. I met Boogsie and Liam Teague. I went to so many Calypso tents and spent Carnival with Crazy. Memorable!!! I have corresponded with a ukulele player in Trinidad. He mostly plays chord melody.

Mam what size of your guitar me I bought 18 inch ukulele it's ok?
@TheUkuleleFool Жыл бұрын
Mine is 23 inches. 18 inches is pretty small. Usually a soprano is 21 inches.
@GeorgeAlexa Жыл бұрын
Yesterday I went to purchase a Ukulele, and unlike the guitars, there were only ten to pick from! The online music store had hundreds to choose from, and I decided that besides the price, I wanted to know what to buy. Should it be a Concreto, a soprano, or a tenor? I decided against a baritone or a Ukulele that sounds like a banjo.
@TheUkuleleFool Жыл бұрын
I play a concert, it works really well with my hand and body size. My husband prefers the tenor, but he will play my concert from time to time with no problems. Many of the pros play a tenor size. I really recommend that you go back to the music store armed with a few chords in mind, like C F and G7 and see what feels right for you. If you are buying online I have had really good experiences with Hricane, Donner, Kmise, and Fender ukuleles. The first 3 can be purchased for under $100, Fenders are more pricey, but not too much. My favorite ukulele is a Martin - CK1 ($500) with my next favorite a Kala acoustic electric ($325?) with a cutaway body. Both are Koa wood.
@GeorgeAlexa Жыл бұрын
@@TheUkuleleFool I shall look for the Martin CK1. Money isn’t a problem. I want the sound to be good. I am not sure I want an electric. I learned the guitar and hope some knowledge transfer. Thank you for the info.

Empty sounding. I can only guess, but some of the strings aren't ringing out. Maybe the finger you are using on the 2nd fret of the C string is making contact with the E and or A string, making them no ring out? Hard to tell by typing about it. Jen - there isn't a super easy way to help you. I am making short music theory videos, and I have a playlist going. Those will be more detailed, and take you through small step at a time to understand what is a college course that they require music majors to take 2 years of. I am just getting my first chord video out next week. An A chord has the notes - A C# #. An A minor chord has the notes A C E. And A7 chord has the notes A C# E G. It is my intention in my short animated videos to help you understand those differences. Make sure to catch the videos - Whole and Half Steps and Major and Minor 3rds. That will really help when I get around making the chord videos. Here's the playlist as of today - kzbin.info/aero/PLxPthNJp8Bn17hS4aL9PZGHFZ0yua4KBj
