I'm just learning the uke (and an insider elf with an inability to be discreet tells me that I may be getting a nice one for Christmas) but I must say that I really enjoy your lessons. You make the chords easy to understand and to play, and I appreciate how you break the songs into comprehensible bite-sized sections. I tried to learn guitar at a junior college a number of years ago but wasn't very good at it and didn't enjoy it so much. Not so with the uke, so thanks for all your videos! @shantijohnson92458 жыл бұрын
Okay so you might wanna do some research into what kind of uke is best for you, but soprano is the smallest one (and the most adorable), concert is the second largest one, and I think after that it goes tenor and baritone. Look into it though of course, I recommend trying all four if you go to a guitar shop

the strings get lose depending on the room temperature they are in. It's completely normal for the strings to get lose (excessively or just a little bit) so don't worry a bit! Just make sure before you play the ukulele is in tune!

Guys do you get calluses playing the ukulele even though it has nylon strings. Calluses scared me off the guitar. Plus the ukulele is very small and more portable than the guitar.
@AmbientBeat9911 жыл бұрын
You need to get calluses otherwise your fingers get sore. Uke is much better than steel strings on guitar though, as your fingers don't bleed. It's more like hard skin than calluses.
@imth3batman10 жыл бұрын
If you're a hand model, then woodwind or percussion instrument might be better. Otherwise, don't worry too much about callouses. Nobody will notice, and they're just your body's way of stopping pain on frequently traumatized skin.

Hi,as a beginner, which Ukulele should I opt for? I will generally use it to strum while I sing. I also felt after trying out at the local guitar store that I like the sound of Tenor Ukulele better than the Soprano as it has more body and since the size is slightly bigger, hence it's easier to play. Please advice.
