The first of four renditions of Suspicious Minds filmed over as many consecutive shows in August 1970 during production of the movie "Elvis - That's The Way It Is".
An edited version of this 11 August 1970, dinner show performance was used in the 2001 re-edited version of That's The Way It Is. The part where Elvis jokes with The Sweet Inspirations was taken from the dinner show twenty four hours later and the ending from the midnight show that same evening.
Here it is in complete form using using video footage from the Blu-Ray version of the 2001 movie, "That's The Way It Is - The Complete Works" and audio from RCA/Sony's remastered audio of the 11 August 1970 Dinner Show.
As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!

The nucleus of the incredible TCB Band was: Ronnie Tutt on drums, James Burton on guitar, Jerry Scheff on bass, John Wilkinson on rhythm guitar, and Glen Hardin on keyboards, augmented by various backup singers, and an orchestra. One of the greatest rock bands ever assembled. They should be in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame. No question.

It just shows what a powerhouse Elvis was in the 70s imagine be in the front row hearing the power of the band and Elvis' dance moves having you on the edge of your seat, this man was a gift from god and was taken so early from us. As a 16 year old listening to Elvis since 2022 and doing impersonations, I can say for everyone: Elvis was heaven on earth.

You are absolutely right. In some ways this might have been his prime. But if you want to a whirlwind watch him in the 50s and 60s. I’ve heard a number of impersonators say that’s the reason why almost of them choose the 70s. There is no way they could keep up with the 50s and 60s. Glad you’re an Elvis fan.

@@James.G.Ireland I heard him singing Heartbreak Hotel on the radio and I didn't know anything about him. So I didn't even know what he looked like. I fell in love with his voice and later also with his looks. I was happy for two days while he lived. I'm from Finland and I was the only one at school who loved him or that anyone even liked him. I was bullied at school because I was weird for being a fan of Elvis. So Elvis' fame has nothing to do with the fact that I fell in love with him. Even now at work I'm a freak because I'm still a fan of Elvis.
