I can only imagine the amount of pain he was in, physically, emotionally and mentally but he preformed his heart, like, no pun intended, it was his last night on earth. The movie definitely gave me more depth to how tragic and mislead Elvis life was.

Isn't that something? Testament to pure unadulterated talent from a gorgeous man who absolutely loved music and conveyed that in all he did. It is such a sad ending brought on in big measure by a con artist who took such advantage if a trusting and naive soul. Seems like all tge good ones die way too young.

I saw Elvis last night early screening, all i can say it was beautifully done. Elvis was before my time but I grew up listening to him. To see the man behind the cape, how tear jerking it. Yet to know how a simple family man he is that family came first. Clapping, loud cheers and folks giving standing ovation inside the theater. Thank you @ausitnbutler and to the entire Presley family for telling his story. Thank you Baz to filming it. Thank you, I wanna go see it again.

@MJsap13
@MJsap13 2 жыл бұрын
Austin Butler did an amazing job. Unfortunately I feel like his performance was wasted by Bax Luhrmans egocentric self centered styling directing. Would’ve been much better if he focused more on Elvis and less on Parker. Elvis led such an interesting life, and they left a lot of it out. Instead of telling the story of a remarkable man’s life Luhrman was more interested in putting his own pizazz and interpretations into the film. Under a different direction this film could’ve been an all time classic.
@jamesprior2496

@@MJsap13 Excellent assessment, Mr. Sapelli. I could not have worded it better myself. I agree with you that the focus should been more on Elvis and not the narcissistic self-serving huckster that was the 'Colonel.' I believe that without the stifling confounds of Parker, the raw talent and charisma of Elvis would have made an even more profound mark on American history; realizing his fullest potential and living well beyond his premature demise.

To see Elvis in his 68 TV special and then to see him less then 10 years later is heartbreaking. His talent and giving his all was still there but he looked so unwell. And to think in less then 2 months we would lose our Shining Elvis is still unbelievable. Elvis, you gave all of you and your poor body was finally worn out. My granddaughter is only 2 and loves to dance to your music. I would have to say, that's pretty amazing considering you have been gone over 45 years. You are Loved ❤❤ and Missed. Elvis Forever 💖💖

Imagine being the lucky recipient of the very last silk scarf that Elvis gave in his last live performance. Man, what a treasured keepsake that would be. Seeing him in that physical state less than two months before his death is sad, very sad. The voice till the very end was still powerful and moving. If only he could have changed just a few lifestyle habits, he could still have been with us today or at the very least lived a lot longer and ultimately retired when he wanted and been happy in retirement until his death much beyond his 42 years of age. Taken from us way too soon. Bless him. RIP.

Makes you wonder if that scarf wasn't sold on eBay some years later. However, I think it would be difficult to prove it's authenticity. Sill though, perhaps someone has it hanging in a shadow-box on their Livingroom wall as a heirloom.

I saw him in concert the day before this was taped in Kansas City. On Sunday I spent the day at our downtown airport waiting for him to arrive. (I tell everyone this but say I babysit his plane) My daughter and her friend were with me. We stood at the back of the limo as he got out. He turned and looked at our way and smiled. I promised my daughter and her friend I’d take them to see him the next Time he was in KC. As we all know that would never happen. But at least we have that Wonderful memory of him. I saw him 3 times in concert. My Mom sent me a sympathy card. When he passed away. I’ve Loved him since I was 11 and still do. I’m 77 now. I’ve been to Graceland several times. The first time was in 87 with my Mom and cousin. I could go on and on. Thank you for letting me tell my Sweet memories of my 1st Love. He will always in our ❤️

I was a grown man when Chester from Linkin Park died, but he was my favorite singer when I was a teenager and I still drop a tear from time to time, when watch music videos of Linkin Park. He sang mostly about his inner pain and trauma...can't hear my hero of my teenage days without hearing him telling everyone how miserable he felt all the time. So, I guess I feel you.
