I know people say you shouldn't break down songs and analyse them because it sort of ruins it/takes the art away. But to hear one of the artists do it and actually talk you through everything is so rare, and with a song like Bohemian Rhapsody, this is golden footage. I just wish they had continued their analysis of the very end when it's mainly just Freddy & Brian, for me that's the most beautiful part of the entire song. Thank you for uploading this fantastic footage.

+MonroeSmile Great point....to aspiring home studio engineers/artists, this is pure gold. I think the one producer that takes it to another level is Mutt Lange working with Def Leppard on the Hysteria LP. These guys sharing this info is one of the greatest gifts they can bestow-even if "average Joe" couldn't care less.....I love behind the music/studio vidz. Peace, Brother!

Im impressed by his technical knowledge of music theory and how much he remembers about how they built the track...proves how involved he/they must have been in the process. Thats why they were one of the best bands in the world I guess!

Astounding recording. Anyone who has ever recorded at any level has to appreciate all the intricacies of this track. Like the Beatles, that it was made on the equipment of the day makes it all the more mind boggling for me. An accomplishment, a moment in time for music recording that stands out.

I feel stupid for thinking there were only 4 voices on this song. This was really cool to see how the song was made, and having explanations for all those nuances that you notice after listening to the song hundreds of times.

:)...If you don't record music or a learned musician; why would you? Queen, like many prog groups of the time have so many layers in a piece...You probably didn't hear the colors as recorded either...White, black, blue and red noise to add atmosphere...But, it's cool that you learned something...:), That's always a good thing!

Wow. I am just amazed. I knew it's complex song, but I've never knew how much complex it really is. I am far from musician, I never knew how songs are put together, I knew (and still know) nothing. This was an awesome peek behind the curtain and seing Brian, lisening to his voice as he walked through the process and his memories....just wow. I knew Bohemian Rhapsody is a masterpice, but that just made me appreciate it even more.

ktpinnacle: How true! Brian's guitar played the parts that would be traditionally played by a synth. They are so much cooler on guitar, but he is one of very few people with the genius to pull it off. Nobody could create a song like this today because the producers would insist on using some piece of technology that would ruin it. By the way, does ktpinnacle stand for "Kansas - The Pinnacle"?

I was a teen when this came out, queen wasn't really huge early on, and it's amazing this song ever became a hit, the length of it, the piano, more like a ballad almost but once the drums came in and Brian's guitar it worked, those days were 3/4 minute songs, there's noway they'd play long songs but this song broke all the rules and obviously became a monster.

He is being muted on purpose so that Brian can explain without being overly excited and ruining Brians chain of thought. It allowed him to calmly recall his version of events without missing anything due to interruptions. He is a sound engineer, he is not meant to be starstruck and in awe.
