NOTE TO THE FORUM: This video is only a CLIP of my entire class on trapping for the street. For 12 years now, my loyal subscribers have been given material to show all haters what REAL martial arts veterans look like. I have trained in 9 martial arts and unlike most who claim such things, I CAN TEACH 6 FROM COMPLETE NOVICE TO ADVANCED! Like it or not, and with less subscribers than those the American public endorses, I will retain my TOP position as one of the most complete martial artists on social media. I thank ALL of our supporters for their support, and yes, I will be putting out LEVEL 1 of our fighting foundation very soon. (God Willing) Sayf Carman (Ummah Fight Camp)

This is old school boxing. I don’t understand how and why trapping became a thing that Chinese martial arts became known for. IMO guard manipulation and clearing hands was always something we did when fighting in the streets and playing around. Watching old boxing this is something I would see guys doing. It’s one of those things like elbow blocks and catching punches on the forehead; common sense techniques that somehow became seen as bullshit

I'd chalk it up to pure coincidence. Good ideas are good ideas regardless where they come from. Chinese martial arts just got more famous cause of movies that people bought into -granted, Chinese Martial arts coincidentally had bridge work even before any contact with Western Boxing. In the end, just like in JKD - if something works, it works - regardless of origin.

JKD?! Then there's some that say Bruce eliminated Trapping completely in third phase of JKD. I've seen videos of ppl JKD/Wing chun Trapping OTT but i suppose it can be used for exercise purposes and wont be ideal to continuously trap in real life I like how yiu mentioned ti keep the chin down when trapping no JKD instructors mention this hence a realistic aspect. Also havent seen much boxing videos that emphasize in the skills of the Traps as much...

@sliksm7626: I have never trained in anything because other people have done it. I trained in them, because I am 5'7 and needed to raise my level of violence faster than the person in front of me. I am FAR different than most of the people on social media! That means, I CAN TRAP in the midst of a fight, match or sparring session. I am NOT a hobbyist, that would be Joe Rogan. Lastly, I showed a clip of Usman using it in the cage. Perhaps most people are not skilled enough to use it, I am and DO.

Why don’t you have any real fighters study striking under you? How long have you been teaching?
@TheUmmahFightCamp Жыл бұрын
@JohnV: Great question! I will answer that in an interview this weekend. I have been teaching for over 30 years! How to hurt people.
