Ever since I followed your channel, you have been spot on and spoke on martial arts in a realistic aspect 90% of people either don't acknowledge or even know about.You have no idea how refreshing it is to see someone like you post actual facts about martial arts on youtube when so many others post the "cute" side of martial arts.

Kevin Williams: I was just getting ready to hit the "sack" for the night and I saw your comment. Thanks dude. As you know, I study people. That is what I do and my new book will cover (not martial arts :) It is on Psychological trauma and crime). Even though people are my thing, I still never get used to the BS. Your comment is a great way to cut off the lap top. Peace.

Just so you know- I do go around recommending your channel to people I associate with within boxing and I am russian which obviously makes me white of culturally orthodox descent. If you want to be caught up in all that racial politics it's your prerogative. I am here because I think you are very insightful and detail oriented about fighting and you have an unorthodox point of view mixed with a lot of knowledge and experience. Just letting you know:) cheers!

This is one of the realest videos and sadly won't reach the same level of outreach as these fancy channels simply because most people have the wrong idea of self defense and haven't experienced it so they cater to a false reality of what fighting is

This is one of the best videos you have put out. I like everything I watch from you. And you are right when I compare what you have to say to what others say you're more correct than the rest. This is coming from my 40-plus years of martial arts experience and Street Experience. And yes I am also about five seven and when I look back at how I have had to adjust and being heavier at 5 7 meant that I had to develop a tougher more effective strategy to close the gap and stay in that's just one example.

Ummah do you think i can become a boxer at the age of 17 and go Professional?
@yusuke15837 жыл бұрын
Yo my guy that was deep still. I learnt a lot for example, with the teeth smile thing that was deep. One thing u said was being "5'7 was a blessing" could u explain how as im 5'7 and i would like to understand better?
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
Anime Fab: Sure, being 5'7 forced me to put on a certain amount of bulk and at the same time, get real about what fighting was.
@yusuke15837 жыл бұрын
Interesting its true about get real about fighting but what do u mean by bulk?
@complexblackness7 жыл бұрын
Anime fab Weight/size to be able to have some power when dealing with bigger guys. I'm 5'8 and guys our height if possible should get to a weight, that we can still move comfortably at, yet gives us a decent increase in power when it comes to punches, grappling etc. Also depending on how it looks on you, the size can make someone think twice about coming at you. Even though we are of a short height. That along with your Awareness/ presence and how you carry yourself, plays a big part in making a possible attacker look elsewhere.
@yusuke15837 жыл бұрын
but why be 5'7 in boxing when u have weight classes meaning if ur the same weight of someone whos 5'11 ur screwed since reach and stuff
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
Anime Fab: Since I may not get the chance to answer MY question, I will answer it here: You need bulk to TAKE blows. Anybody can punch people. You need cushion. Next, when you are a certain height, you HAVE to get real about your fighting. Example, I switched from Freestyle to Greco-roman because freestyle did not work as good form me. (freestyle take downs being below the waist forced me to give up my structure too often)

Greetings for UK Sayf. I know you don't like to do vids on every old current fighter but I was wondering what your thoughts were on the current crop of heavyweights? Sorry if you've covered this I've been out of the loop a little. Also I'm coming over to the US, staying in Bed Stuy for a while in June. Would love to come train. Do you still use the Gmail e-mail?
@complexblackness7 жыл бұрын
I agree with the Inmate/bouncers. Now when it comes to LEOs Most COs/LEO can't fight and from my experience unless they are combat minded, they tend to not train or care about Self defense outside of what they learned in the Academy. It's a lot of "I'll just shoot", "Ill use the taser/baton/OC spray" and this is from dealing with hundreds of LEO over the years. You have to find the right one to talk to which will be hard to do. Many don't get that deep into the psychological side of violence. There are a select few who can point out things and explain to you A man's stance (feet position), hands, body language (sitting, walking or stationary), etc Usually guys who observe those things are considered paranoid etc. Those are the ones you talk to.
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
ComplexBlackness: First you HAVE to listen to the ENTIRE video before trying to catch me on something. Listen AGAIN. I SAID "Maybe not TECHNIQUE, but they know about sociopathic behavior". Next, ALMOST ANY CO knows more than 80% of people on the street about violent behavior, by just virtue of being around it! That is fact! They do not have to write a book about it. I KNOW 3 COs! I trainer of recruits, another the head of the union and another who retired after 25 years. Next, my wife teaches a FEMALE CO and she can go on for hours on how to know when a man is going to try to assault you and she works as a TOWER SNIPER! Please dude. Save me the aggravation by listening to what I said, before jumping to answer my questions and trying to find something wrong with what I said. In prison NO ONE thinks in terms of being paranoid per se, they think in terms of being IN PRISON. Mass MURDERERS are NOT PARANOID. Do you think they are not being watched cause they do not fit that description? Lastly, I was ASKED to come to KZbin. 6 years ago by someone that KNEW me. I DO THIS. It is not to be on social media.
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
ComplexBlackness: On the issue of it being hard to find a CO to talk to, not true in the least. They hang on the block of my school every weekend! at least 6 of them. Everyone will answer questions on how people react in AD, SC, DEATH ROW, In the YARD and so on. If they do not work that night, they can spend hours talking about it. NP. They all talk to me.

'if you behave in a way that convinces people you can take their head, you will not have to.' Sayf Carmen, on the priority of 'soft skills'. ----- Someone should make a cut of the last segment of this lecture, about the scanning of crowds ("this one will fight for his money, this one will not") and show it to every young man in today's feminized society. Play it for every so called reality self defence expert who has never walked through the hood at 2 AM or spent anytime on the corner with the crackheads.

Eh, did you catch the UFC event last saturday? If not, go back and watch Yoel Romero vs Luke Rockhold, the main event. Yoel was using 52 Blocks and beat Rockhold with it. Now the revolution will begin now that it's been proven that hand fighting techniques from Wing Chun and traditional Karate can be used effectively at the highest levels of combat sports. A lot of us have known this was coming since the sport began, knowing that these arts can work if trained properly, but I still thought we were a few years away from seeing these techniques utilized in MMA.
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
IndigoXYZ18: I did not see ALL of the fights, but bro, 52 blocks borrows from EVERY style and most people are not honest about what they took. There are certain hand movements that ALL styles use under pressure. I would not jump and say it is 52 blocks.
@IndigoXYZ187 жыл бұрын
TheUmmahFightCamp I've never heard anybody from 52 Blocks try to deny that it is a hybrid art. They've always said it is comprised of many styles, but primarily Boxing, Wing Chun and Karate. That said you could tell that Romero had been training 52 Blocks' unique blend of those arts.
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
IndigoXYZ18: why can't it be just trying to confuse the man in front of him? lol. Since 52 takes from other styles, saying it is 52 is not possible.
@IndigoXYZ187 жыл бұрын
TheUmmahFightCamp But I mean how many original styles are therr really? That's like saying Kyokushin doen't exist, it's really Shotokan & Goju Ryu. Or saying Kyokushin is analogous to Gosoku Ryu because they are both hybrids of the same martial arts. Siblings aren't clones, they are a unique blend of their parents. And like how children are not their parents, like how grey is neither black or white, 52 Blocks is more than the sum of the arts it is derived from.
@TheUmmahFightCamp7 жыл бұрын
IndigoXYZ18: 52 blocks was used to snare young black kids who wanted some connection to Africa. There it is. I have said it. I know people who have worked in the prison system for 25 years and they never saw 52 blocks used like it is used in videos. If you look at Kali or Sliat, they do the same thing as 52 blocks. Yoel is using his arms to block to not get hit. Plain and simple. Unless he trained with someone who teaches it or publicly says he looked at a video on it. The propaganda needs to be kept on ice.
