There were many high ranking Nazis who lived very strange and bizarre family lives. Many of the wives of the top ranking Nazis were incredibly submissive, and claimed they did not know of the horrors of the concentration camps, or the German war crimes. But a number were imprisoned at the end of the Second World War. Hitler would marry his long standing girlfriend for just 40 hours before their demise. Martin Bormann, Hitler's Private Secretary would also live a wild life with many mistresses.
There were some women who were considered ideal Nazi wives, for example Heinrich Himmler's wife Margarete who worked inside of German hospitals. Also Reinhard Heydrich's wife Lina was almost as virulent a Nazi as her brutal husband was. But these wives benefitted greatly from the suffering of those persecuted, as their homes were filled with stolen property or they lived inside huge homes and mansions.

Hi all - after reading some of these comments, I have to thank you for your kind words. I'm not entirely sure why, but you would have noticed that the views on the channel are not what they usually are for some reason. I'm exploring new ideas and concepts to try and get us back on track. As you can appreciate this is rather stressful, as is the downturn in views. The kind words of support that some of you have offered has brought a smile to my face. Thank you again.

You won't be losing me, I'm addicted to the channel, I find more information on here than others. In fact, this is the only channel I watch on history, some people aren't up to the videos of the camps and lots of other tragedy, and turn off, but I believe that for this to never happen again, people have to know what did happen, how many were murdered, how they were murdered, the beatings, the torture, medical experiments on children and adults, not one time have I thought about stopping watching, it's not a boring channel, it's a very informative channel, thank you for putting this out

I am from the second or even third generation after WW2. Even though I've heard all the horror stories, I can't say what I would have done or not have done, had I lived back then. My late grandma was a young woman during this time. She lived in constant fear. She knew people who made public comments that they were against the system. A few days later they were taken by the authorities and never heard of or seen again, one of them was her brother. When I was working in nursing, one of my clients told me the following story: She was 14 in the early 40s and witnessed the Naziz herding Jewish people like cattle down the street. She saw a young girl who fell after being pushed by one of the nazi soldiers. She jumped in and was trying to help her. The same nazi who pushed the girl put his machine gun in her mouth and threatened her that he would blow her brains off if he ever saw her again helping a Jew. While she was telling me this, she was crying and shaking. I believe this woman was still traumatized from what she experienced as a 14 year old girl.

I can because it's about principle. Like Joan of Arc; she died for what she believed in & if I we're any of these women then I'd stand up for what's right because there's nothing to fear but fear itself even to the point of martyrdom. Look at MLK; he took a stand for what was right & got killed for it to so even at the cost of one's life, you should always stand for what's righteous & not follow the crowd just because it's the path of least resistance. If anything these women were cowards in my honest opinion & no better if not complict in every war crime

Magda’s son, Harald Quandt, survived the war. The Quandt Family were and are very wealthy and connected. They almost got their businesses taken away for being collaborators but in the end full control was restored. To this day the Quandt’s remain one of Germany’s richest families. Almost all of the wealthiest German families living today had NSDAP ties. They’re all pretty secretive except the ones who’ve atoned for their ancestors deeds back then.

We’re these women unaware of what their husbands and fathers were doing ? Heck no!!!! Was it Hoss’s wife who lived at Auschwitz? O.k they were a bit away but they had prisoners in their homes as ‘slaves’. One is reported to have said ‘take a shower and have clean clothes’ because of the poor so and appearance. So, she knew they were denied proper sanitation, she knew they were underfed because they were even punished if they tried to take extra food from the house. They knew alright. Believe it was France it is in an article about her. Plus the time he was going to suicide Eva drove to the Bunker and begged to die with. Him. She only wanted to be married. She had to drive to the bunker so she could see and her the devastation he brought to the people. She may not have been aware of the death camps but she had to know how he hated Jews. He thought he was one and checked into this info to see if he was Jewish. Been studying the Holocaust since 1977. It was devastating but if you read about the Nazi Regime it mentions most of the information listed here. You just have to read it

Many of the Nazi wives were obsessed with French fashion. They used Jewish concentration camp prisoners who were skilled designers and seamstresses to make clothes for them. They were absolutely disgusting to the core. Check out the book The Dressmakers of Auschwitz. It details perfectly how the Nazi wives were nothing but trash living on the spoils of genocide.

@@jeffreyval9665- Quite right. I’m not quite sure of the point of all the anguished handwringing about whether top Nazls’ wives, or nearby residents outside death camps, "knew" of the crimes being committed. So what? What’s the point? Germans were in Germany because they were born there, simply by accident of birth - not because they’d sought out the Nazi cause. Similarly, Americans were born in America by accident of birth, not because of inherent moral superiority. Hell, FDR and Ike both "knew" what was going on in Germany, yet neither booked passage as individuals to make their way to Auschwitz, pound on the gate, and demand that they cease and desist what was taking place there. There’s a whole lot of indignant, holier-than-thou, huffing and puffing on this channel about who "knew", and it’s becoming a bore. Just what would these pontificating boobs have done, themselves, had they been related to top Nazis or had homes near the death camps? Nothing, I suspect.

Prince Gustav Adolf was actually not crown prince; - he was grandson of the king Gustaf 5th and son of the crown prince whose name was also Gustav Adolf, and who became king from 1950 to 1973. Prince Gustav Adolf was killed in a plane crash in Copenhagen in 1947, while his grandfather was still king, a few months after fathering his only son and youngest child Carl Gustaf after four daughters. Prince Gustav Adolf's father-in-law, the present Swedish king's maternal grandfather, had even closer relations with the nazi leaders. But apart from this little correction, I totally agree that it is horrible to see the Swedish royals together with Hermann Göring.

One of the SS members said he was a bit afraid and didn’t know what to do. I wish I could remember the villages name. ♥️🇨🇦
