Throughout the Second World War, there were very few people who dared to question or challenge Hitler on his policies and brutality. But one woman who stood up to the Nazi Dictator was Henriette von Schirach. She was the daughter of Hitler's photographer and she first met Hitler when she was very young. It's even believed that Hitler tried to kiss her at one point, but she went on to marry the Hitler Youth leader Baldur von Schirach.
Henriette von Schirach would witness the evils of the Holocaust herself and she then at Hitler's Berghof confronted Hitler about this. Hitler when questioned was furious and he flew into an angry rage but with this he had been questioned by a woman in the presence of his friends and he had been belittled.

Well it's a huge misconception Hitler unlike Stalin did not shoot his generals for disagreeing with him , especially on military matters They would just be sidelined and removed from their position but often recalled at a later date Of course the bomb plot was a different scenario as It was treason and an attempt on his life So don't use the Downfall Fegelein parodies as a good example of his general attitude , this was his final paranoid Hubris where even Himmler was acting in open treason in his mind This actually makes his Obersalzberg speech or 'pep talk' on 22nd Aug 1939( I think)before the Invasion of Poland and implementation of General Ostplan even more enlightening as to the sacred place Nazi racial ideology took as the preeminent motivation at the heart of everything compared to traditional political/military aims He says the war on the EAST is NOT a war of 'lines ' or boundaries , that does not determine it's sucess It's PRIMARILY a war of racial annihilation or Genocide and that's how it's sucess Is measured It's believed Wilhelm Canaris smuggled out the minutes and gave them to Louis Lochner Head of the AP on Berlin who attempted to pass them on to the UK and US governments In It whilst drawing analogy with Genghis Khan whilst laying out the need to show unmerciful pitilessness to even Polish women and children he very clearly says he will have anyone who utters a single word of opposition taken out and shot !

After the war she obtained artwork from her father's and husband's estates. "Henriette was also able to buy back artworks that had been confiscated from Baldur von Schirach, from the Bavarian State Painting Collections (Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen), even though some of these had been stolen from Jews".

I see you’ve followed Henny’s story of standing up to Hitler. There’s two sides to every story and I tend to believe the second. Henny is no brave woman who “stood up to Hitler”. She said the wrong thing at a dinner party and was confronted by Hitler. That’s quite different. Also why did she and Von Shirach complain about not being invited back to the Berghoff? It was a major loss of status that they couldn’t stand at the time. They belong to the rest of the rats that ran from the sinking German Third Reich and tried to cover for themselves; it seems the Fuhrer was surrounded by traitors and assassins in his closest circle and never knew it. May I remind you of Albert Speer, who was Hitlers’ Golden Boy and “my Son, if I had a Son”, good ol’ Loyal Albert, who by his own Nuremberg testimony, claimed to have attempted to poison the bunkers air systems? But the very night of his attempt, that certain hatch was “bolted up tight”? And thus spoiled his assassination of Hitler? Lol, yeah right Speer! He was one of Hitlers biggest suck-ups! Henny did nothing to stop the Holocaust and remained silent until confronted about her comments.

I very much doubt Henriette was part Jewish or Mischling because the SS would never have approved her marriage to one of the most high-profile Nazis in the 3rd Reich, but more to the point, your remark appears to be mere character assassination by mosquito, given that her personality & often controversial actions were applauded, remarked, or vehemently objected to by several of the most powerful people in Germany, including the Minister of Propaganda, and the ReichsMarshal. She did not act "only because" of some personal interest: this woman was actually infamous for standing up for her beliefs and values, in spite of her own interests, as was Leni Reifenstahl.

There are many stories kept silent; like the cooperation of cityhalls and police with nazis. When Holland was invadeds, and later the Dutch army surrendered; those who surrendered were paid all war through. Those who went in the resistance: they got nothing. A family member was arrested in 1945; he was in the resistance and owned a pistol; illegal posession of fire arm. According to constitution: when a queen or king leaves the country during an attack or occupation, they lose the right on the throne for ever" Wilhelmina went to Canada, and came back in 1945, playing queen... Prince Bernard was SS; was always put under the carpet..... Look in 1941: agreement between Croatic fascists, the nazis and the pope....to kill jews, gypsies, gays, and 2/3 of the Serbs.......

I'm American born but of a North German born mother. I believe that I know what Junge was trying to say. "Sentimental feelings" as in any empathetic, human compassion. “”You’re being sentimental. What is it to you what happens to those women?” It’s a good question. What is it that we care what happens to innocent people? What’s really at the bottom of that? It’s real and shouldn’t be ignored. Hitler could’ve been asked the same question: “Why are you so sentimental about the German Volk? What do they have to do with you?”
