In today's video I share my watch goals for 2025. I discuss why I'm going back to what is so special about the Pierce Brosnan era Omega Seamaster James Bond watch, my search for the ultimate world timer from affordable to luxury, why the Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer is the gold standard to which I will compare everything else-and why I do not plan to acquire the most iconic world timer by Patek (which pioneered this complication) anytime soon. I also explore why I want to add a British watch to my collection, and what has deterred me from pursuing the Christopher Ward Bel Canto. Having foolishly sold my Squale Azzuro 1521, I share how a new superior version might just be the cure to my consistent flipping, as well as a look at a watch release I predicted-a stone dial new version of one of the best watches of 2024, the Bulova Super Seville. And after selling my Submariners, I reveal which Tudor will finally close this chapter of luxury dive watches in the story of my collecting journey. What are your watch goals for 2025? Please share in the comments!

What you say about being objective with the feedback you give to brand and how it could have put you on the "black list" of certain brands is spot on. I see many youtubers (in my country France or in Switzerland) that forget how objectivity and contracts for reviews are very often not compatible. Sad but this is the youtube world we live in. Have a great end of Sunday. Thank you for the video.

I bought a Peter Blake full size auto full set many many years ago for £800 as a treat for myself and it’s been a staple in my collection - the design has matured like a fine wine over those 20 or so years - also have a Brosnan Full Size Automatic that is my everyday watch - that era of Seamaster is lovely and the cases are super thin - fits perfect under a sleeve for work and is so practical for everyday use - I can see why you want to buy one again

Same here, I'm only up 10 or so watches but rarely wear any of them. I usually sport a g shock at work. What's stopping me is not having a variety of straps that work well with my favorite watches that also inspire confidence on wrist when secured to the watch. If I can narrow down my collection to 3-4 watches I really like wearing and have some great straps to interchange between them, I think that'll cure a lot of my indecisiveness that inevitably leads to me wanting to buy just one more watch, lol. Great goal.

This is not judgement, just observation. I find it interesting that you're watch collecting journey, mirroring an exploration of your own self-growth, have brought you from smaller watches to larger watches. I absolutely relate, because I went from sporting 34mm diameter Sinn watches to finding the more preferred size for my wrist in the Oris Aquis 41.5mm size, and I can easily go up to the 43mm Oris Aquis size. I just find the journey interesting, relatable, and I respect the fact that you haven't hidden behind statements that you've made in the past. Thank you for your content, Sir.

TGV, I've owned a Rolex Sub 14060m no date, black bay 58, black bay 54, omega seamaster 300, omega planet ocean, christopher ward lumiere, and pelagos 39. My favorite by FAR is the Pelagos 39. You will not regret owning that watch!

I put that 39 on my wrist and the size is really awesome. I see why you fell for the Pelagos 39. My problem is that I cannot wear an every day watch that does not have a date; simply how I am! I bought the Tudor Black Bay pro; even though it stands a bit tall on the wrist, the 39mm diameter is awesome…

My daughter was born this week, so for the past few months I've been purging my collection of everyhing without emotional attachment. I'd like to get something rough and tumble, something that can handle the ups and downs of fatherhood. Seamaster 300M chronograph from the 90s is high on my list. Especially if this is my last piece for several years.

I started 2025 with the purchase of a long-time grail of mine, an Omega Seamaster Diver 300M in blue on a steel bracelet. I just love that color and the laser engraved waves. The "bond style" waves are a bit too much for my ADHD brain. I'm also planning on reducing the amount of watches I have, being a real Seikopath, and spend the revenues on a Longines Hertitage Diver Chronograph. This watch has such a beatiful retro vibe to me. I love your videos TGV. I may not be a frequent viewer but whenever they pop up in my feed, you have my attention.

Still loving my 20+ year relationship with my now light blue faded bezel 36mm Seamaster. For all the desk divers complaining, the bezel is adequate for actual diving. Mine has scuba dived the Seto Inland Sea in Japan, the Caribbean, and the Gulf of Mexico. Admittedly, my Doxa Sub and “Willard” have taken over that role. The blue small Omega is fantastic in everything from jeans to a suit though. P.S. I personally love the skeleton hands.

Great video as usual sir. Interestingly enough the FC Worldtimer is #2 on my list right after a white dial GO Panamera Moonphase or an FC Manufacture Moonphase (half the price). Then a Cartier Santos of an not yet determined color. I've been looking at the FC Worldtimer for two year now and I think I'll definitely pull the trigger this year. I've seen it in person and it's not too large for my 7" wrist. I will go with the blue dial with a blue strap. FYI I wear the Acutron Spaceview 2020 with no problem. Keep the videos coming. I do find myself missing the broader “gentry” topics-things like bags, wallets, and the small details that elevate a gentleman’s style beyond just watches. I’m planning to retire in the Summer of 2026. I’ll have a combined total of 42 yrs. of government service. 22 years Active Duty military and 20 years civil service. My goal at the moment is to acquire a Rolex Explorer 40mm to commemorate that retirement. Not the loftiest of goals for some but it is a watch I’ve always wanted. I’m currently on “a list” at a local AD but I may end up going *new*/used through a dealer somewhere if it doesn’t become available by retirement time. Great video TGV, really enjoyed it, 2025 looks like it will be an interesting year for your collection. I fulfilled most of my goals last year, amongst others, I got my Hanhart 417ES last year and also a pristine Seamaster 2245, to my eyes the best of the lot, which I absolutely love, even though I’m a field/fleiger man generally. For 2025, I really fancy a world time and have already been looking at the Frederick Constant, to go with their beautiful moonphase that I already own, so that’s probably the most likely next purchase. I also badly want a Glashütte Original as I love their designs and their epic finish, but can’t decide on what I want exactly, the choice is overwhelming.

The three main goals for this year is a Lorier Olympia for a Daytona-inspired chronograph, a 90s-00s Breitling Aerospace (I like those dials the best) and a vintage A-11 field watch.

Stellar vid per usual. Always hyped to hear folks' goals. Especially vibing with the Seamaster draw. I keep coming back to that one (or those, rather) myself, even with a slew of other things on the wishlist. With the prices jumping up, the value is still there; they're so iconic, and just very clean and refined compared to what we get now. Cheers and all the best, TGV!

Just bought the Omega 2221.80.00 from Japan and I am eagerly waiting for its arrival to my wrist. I was not able to find another Quartz 300m diver with a helium valve and tons of cool pop-culture swag like this watch on the market. Huge opportunity for a quartz lover designer (wink). Love the look, function and size. As for your world timer, please make sure to look at the WB3510 reference from Breitling. This watch does not get enough attention, and it is jacked packed with pure Breitling and rare features. It sports the 1st in house non-chronograph B35 caliber, and a tough-as-nails tungsten carbide bezel. Breitling's designers made the Galactic Unitime SleekT 44mm but were smart to pair it with an end-link that help it wrap on the wrist. Cheers.

Great point and sorry to hear you feel that way, it certainly is a concern and it should not be like that! I might have to do a video on it one day, especially considering my POV is slightly different to others as I have lived in Philly, London, Rome, Barcelona and NYC, all places that have had serious issues with watch crime. Food for thought and thank you for sharing that, I appreciate the support. Stay safe and well. Best regards, TGV

TGV, lovely stuff in this. It's quite enjoyable to see your collection go through phases over time. I have way, way more watches than I thought I would have when I started my collecting journey. My favorite is Marathon with my CSAR/JSAR/JDD trinity and a couple handfuls of Navigators and General Purpose models. A handful of Seikos, quite a few Casios, and a few Maratacs round out my collection. My most recent purchase is a Scurfa Diver One blue dial with yellow handset. Wow.😍 Thank you kind sir, as always, for your efforts and offerings to our enjoyable hobby. Onwards and Upwards, my friend. Cheers!🙂

Couple of thoughts TGV: I never thought Omega would touch the Seamaster design but the recent Speedmaster Military release has now got me thinking they might have the courage to apply similar levels of dare with the Seamaster. Regardless, surely...SURELY they do something to commemorate the Bond partnership. Glad to hear you are on the hunt for a world timer. When I first stepped into this hobby, the world timer, in all forms was the first complication that caught my attention. Seiko 6117/6217 WT, Nomo's brilliant Tangomat GMT, Montblanc had a great Southern Hemisphere specific WT and even a IWC Portugieser world timer (not that I'm going to spend that kind of money). Like you, I was really impressed by FC's WT launch but I had concerns on dial and case size. I'm a bit lost when it comes to watch goals for this year. I've definitely flirted with the idea of a couple of Sinn's over the last 12-24 months but I have enough pilot/field watches so I can never bring myself to pull the trigger. I won't lie, the video you did with Marc about grails really bought Breguet to my attention. Some of their classic moonphases in yellow gold are just 🧑‍🍳💋. I also had the pleasure to try on some more Grand Seiko and gosh darnit, that EVO9 case shape is something really really special. Other than that, I wouldn't mind something in the more unique or strange side of things. The Bel Canto is up there, but so is a MAD 1S. Might be a year of just consolidation and appreciation...

My goals are 1) complete my daily arsenal with a Sinn 903 St II this month. 2) Acquire my first JLC. It's going to be a particular Memovox. 3) Get my fan project watch and decide what to do with it. The troubles and delays have soured it for me a bit.

Great video! I’ve been on a purging journey over the past few years (down from 50+ watches to currently 5) with the most recent addition last week of a 2011 Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 45.5mm 2200.50 with the calibre 2500 movement. Ironically my next focus is actually another Omega Seamaster but this time the 2264.50 with the sword hands and subtle wave pattern.. very specific I know but it’ll be my “grab and go” and travel watch.

I mentioned that I was going to Tokyo to look at watches. I'm here now, and it is one robust market. Today I was walking toward the Seiko Museum in Ginza, but I saw a rare boutique (Greubel Forsey). I hope to make it to the Seiko Museum tomorrow. I still can't afford a GF, but seeing them in person, was so much more than I expected. Especially the Double Balancier Convexe in titanium. Limited to 88 timepieces. A true constant force grail if there ever was one! For now, I can just dream...unless you want to help a bro out and start a go fund me for a poor watch collector.

My next purchase will be Hanhart 417 ES 1954, it will be my Mechanical Chronograph in my collection (currently 6 watches), heavily inspired by TGV. Currently wearing my Farer World Timer which was my 2024 purchase, again TGV was one of the reviews I saw to pull the trigger on this. I kinda feel lucky Im not a Bond fan so never had the Omega Seamaster need (out of my price range anyway)

I’ve purchased the st3600 movement and have been practicing tearing it apart and putting it back together. My watch goals for 2025 are to purchase some old watches with decent dials and rebuild them. Not set on any one brand but I’m digging the older Bulova, Hellsburgs and other cheaper watches as a first few tries. So my goal is to wear something I rebuilt and got functioning well again.

Bought the Squale 1521 Marina Militare last year, was suppose to be grail material. Didn't quite feel it - until I found a better sailcloth bracelet. Crazy how much bracelet or strap can change the watch. Very happy with it now. Recently been eyeing on C.Ward Atoll 300 - so very summer watch, extremely tempted by that one. Btw. I had the FC Worldtimer, the first model with different dial - it was the size that ultimately made me sell it. Too bulky (thickness mostly) for a classic dress watch design. Those can be found for 2nd hand very cheap. PAM111 and Golden Eye Seamaster remain in collection 😎

Not sure how, but your Italian sounds truly Italian! Sadly, I am far away from my grail watch (that you have shown in this video as well), but I hope they will keep it in production for years to come. I am not going to even mention the brand name, otherwise everyone will run and buy it out before I make enough to get it.

Here goes: Absolutely *yes* on the FC - this one's been on your mind a while, and while I get your jonesing for a 38mm version, I somehow don't see it materializing…and I've already teased you enough about the Panerai. The Bulova? Yes, why not, and it does go with the new ring. (Might need to keep Hugo on a tighter leash…the whole meteorite thing, y'know.) *My* goals? Pretty much purging of a few things long on the to-sell shelf (two vintage Hamiltons, plus a G-Shock GW-7900 I only bought late last year, when it turns out what I really wanted was a Rangeman GW-9400). Grail? You've already seen it (Seiko SARW025 Laurel), I now have the one diver that does it for me (Seiko again, SBDY085 Mini Turtle), and the rest of the Baker's Dozen collection holds steady. Is that weird, or what?
