Don't know how many times I've repeated it, but this is the Olny channel on KZbin that puts out consistently educational horology content. Not just 6 min reviews and arguments over whos Rolex holds the most value. Keep it up man. Thanks T.G.V. Onwards and Upwards for 2021.

Agree. In my opinion The Urban Gentry has proved to be something of a "must watch" channel.
@styx49474 жыл бұрын
@@mas3974 Indeed it has. You can find a review of the Rolex Daytona,(n-billion or so) or speculate about watches as a commodity, ten alternatives to this or that ad-nauseam. But this is where you get the context, history and significance of the topics everyone clones from each other. Half of them dont why they say the stuff they say, just that it's the "zeitgeist" of the watch community on Instagram.

Hi TGV, nice to see you finally covering Hanhart in depth. Hanhart was the very first brand I gave serious consideration to for my first mechanical watch purchase when I got into watches back in 2015 based on a review by Zach Weiss at Worn & Wound. I ultimately went with the Sinn 104i based on your first review, and eventually bought the Hanhart Pioneer One LE 3-hander at the end of 2017. While I really liked the watch, I eventually sold it as I was really pining for the 417 ES that McQueen wore. And, now...Hanhart has released it! Just a note for consideration is that with the "thinner" coin-edge bezels, the 42mm Hanharts wear bigger than their size would indicate. Something to keep in mind for those with smaller wrists. Wonderful watch company though, with beautifully executed designs and an incredible historial legacy. Big fan of Hanhart. Cheers, Stephen

Great Job as always TGV, I’m a long-term silent fan, and always look forward to new videos. I really like this brand and watch, the Hanharts are just great Germen Watches. I took a chance on a great buy on a Nutische Instrumente Muhle-Glashutte last year and I am very impressed with it. As my taste changes and develops, I’m really liking the Axis watches (German and Japanese ). Like you, I have a Grand Seiko on the 2021 additions list. I’m going to order the H417 ES, with the light brown strap and underlay. Good enough, for the king of cool, good enough for me. rwk

Being a huge Steve McQueen fan most of my life, I became interested in his various watches he owned. Subsequently I bought several Benrus vintage Vietnam watches, a 1940’s Rolex Oyster Speedking, just the same watch he wore in The Great Escape. Some years ago I came across an early 1940’s Hanhart chronograph. In pretty good condition being vintage. I was hesitant to buy it, but head ruled my “hart”🤣, so I bought it. It’s been cleaned & serviced back then, worn sparingly & keeps amazing time! As you said TGV, they’re bringing good money now. Mine was literally a 1/3rd of the price you quoted.👍🏼 Great vid & honestly I’m tempted on the reissue too! Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🍻

Thank you for cheering up this great german brand. Personally i did like the thickness of the watch - it is great to combine with a leather jacket and jump into a convertible - the next best thing you can do when there is no spitfire at hand. The thickness gives it a distinctive tools watch look and makes it an eyecatcher. It is a watch that you can still wear and have fun with whereas other watches tend to rest in the safety of a safe. Thank you for putting up those good videos which are obviously not sponsored and marketing driven. Keep the good work up, i enjoyed watching it.

I especially had to smile at 4:35 - it is true that for school sports Hanharts were all over the place. So when in a sports class you teacher was arriving with one of these watches, you could be sure there would be a timed run in the lesson that day. I hated that - but always wanted to have one of these watches. Today I prefer Sinn and their EZM series. It cannot get any cooler than using submarine steel for utility wachtes. Greetings from Germany.

Nice seeing this brand get some recognition, nicely done. Maybe 10 or more years ago, Hanhart did make a Fliegerchronograph Replica1939, ref. 700.1101-00, that was based on the manual wind Valjoux 7760 with the case dimensions being several mm's thinner than the models using the automatic 7750 movements. The automatic version of the Fleigerchronograph was named the Pioneer Caliber II, ref. 716.0101.00 I once read that the Tachytele version was issued to the navy and submariners, but I I'm to certain about that point.
