Nothing better than fresh lemon from the tree! I envy you climate ;)

Hi Rico! And I'm lucky that my lemon tree has lemons all year round...

I really enjoy your how-to videos. You really have a knack for it. Love the way show us your thought process and your attention to all the details. Even when you make a mistake you are able to gracefully adapt and work it into the plan. Cant wait for your next project. Maybe a bigger racing class boat with a more complicated rig. Maybe a 5.0 meter Cat or trimaran. Fantastic job on filming and editing also. Love your sense of humor. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Joel! I like to build stuff but I love sailing a LOT! Building mall boats let's me do both! If I get in a big build it might drag for too long or keep me out of the water for longer than I want to be. But never say never... 😉

Nice, I finally got my little experiment together and today the first time doing epoxy. Runny stuff isn't it? Now I understand why you guys thicken it all the time for diffrent applications. Great job dude :)
@TheBoatRambler3 жыл бұрын
Thanks André! We thicken epoxy with different additives for different purposes. To glue i find microfibers are better as they fill up the gaps better and are very tough. For fairing or anything nonstructural and which needs to be sanded Micro balloons are top, as they are hollow and sand easily.

good idea, probably stiffen the boat up a bit more as well

It certainly will although the GIS is plenty strong as is! 😉

Why not add some watertight access hatches on the sides for storage?
@TheBoatRambler3 жыл бұрын
Hi Stavros! I will eventually install two small inspection hatches there. 😉

Looking forward to the capsize tests. It will be interesting to see if the extra buoyancy makes it harder to right and whether it is possible to invert the boat fully. Are you planning to fit hatches?
@TheBoatRambler3 жыл бұрын
Hi Brendan! Good point! hope the added buoyancy wont force the mast to sink... Yes I will fit small screw on round hatches.

Teo, I am planning on adding a bench seat between front and middle seats, but not quite as elaborate as yours...what are the width of your seats measured at where they meet the middle seat? Thanks for your videos. I have adopted some of your mods on my GIS.
@TheBoatRambler3 жыл бұрын
Hey Buzz! Glad to hear that! 😉 The seats are 22cm by the mid seat and kept parallel all the way to the rear seat. Have fun!
