He and Zara are not working Royals which makes their situation a lot different. They get the perks but they can pretty much do their own thing....and are free to make their own millions. They support the Royal events they choose which is great way to boost their profile for their sponsorship deals. They wanted the titles and to be top tier Royals on a global stage and eclipse the very Queen herself. Mike is no fan of Harry and Meme..good for him... 😊

Yet, those who are employed by us to represent us would certainly make themselves available to those that want to harm us economically and politically, but they can't make themselves available to our Head Of State. Beatrice’s hubby is Italian too!….agree about teaching your children to be resilient and strong too. I always remember when my Dad died and my children (7 and 9 at the time), asked to view his body, came to the funeral etc….some of my acquaintances were shocked and said that the boys shouldn’t be involved at all, they were too small and should be ‘shielded’ from death. I was shocked, because how do children learn about how to deal with death if they don’t face it? Similar to your point I think.

I'm Irish. Traditionally, the deceased would be laid out in their Sunday best in the best room in their own home. The whole neighbourhood, young and old, would come and visit to reminisce. The following day would be the removal to the church, and on the third day, the funeral would take place. Things are gradually changing, but, looking back, it never disturbed me. When my father died, my children were not shielded or kept away. Death is a fact of life and should not be feared.

@@annmartin5347 Precisely. My Dad had been in hospital for 3 months and wanted to Go home the entire time. So the night before the funeral, he was laid out in the dining room and friends and family were invited round to drink a wee dram of his favourite whisky and say farewell. If people wanted to view him, they could. My boys asked to see him, so we let him and it was a very healthy thing for them in regard to their understanding of death. Shielding children from these things, is only setting them up to fall and not be able to cope in the future.

Shauna, what you're talking about is learning resilience against comments! It's important. If we try to teach people to "get stronger" against commenters that they don't even know, we give more credence to their comments!!! You are 1000% right and the "circle" practice is something every good parent should do with their pre-teens and teens. Thank you for mentioning that.
