Basically the article was about this race of humans from another dimension, 2173-1, in contact with the chaos insurgency and were preparing to go to war with the foundation then the pattern screamers made themselves known and attacked everyone then 2173-1 was like "oh hell no" and dipped. Pattern Screamers are basically survivors from a previous or alternate reality which faced an existential threat/death/destruction. They tried to flee it and ended up trapped in the form of "patterns" within the world, so deeply hidden that they're basically imperceptible by everyone besides the Foundation and similar groups (sometimes not even them). They're trying to get noticed, screaming for attention as they remain trapped in that agonizing form. Iirc, the more people know about them, the more powerful they become. In one article they are responsible for the near genocide of an interstellar human civilisation, Earth being the single planet that managed to escape them by regressing technologically and somehow removing all knowledge of the Screamers from the populace.

Interestingly, there is hidden size 0 text at the end of the article, it reads “Fred knew they'd have found him where he was hiding before, and so he slipped into this little-known place, hoping his new hiding spot could shelter him, not realizing it was already occupied.” Fred probably refers to SCP-423, a being with no physical form that often goes into text documents and books and rewrites the story to include himself or his name, Fred, in some way or other, which would make sense why he shows up in an unrelated SCP document. It seems that Fred has gone onto the SCP-2173 document to hide himself from the Foundation, only to run into the Pattern Screamers, who were already inhabiting the file. This is probably a callback to another Pattern Screamer article, “SCP-000”, where a pattern screamer is trapped in the broken SCP-000 file, and communicates its thoughts through hidden white text in the article. R.I.P. Fred.

Interesting. I'm familiar with that text, and I had always taken 'Frank' to be the name of Person of Interest 'Ephialtes'. The text is an explanation for why his body wasn't found, and why the pattern screamers were able to invade; 'Ephialtes' found their space, and he is either still there or they killed him.

This is a bit of an odd one. The SCP entry itself feels like they had a few solid ideas, but couldn't stick the landing so inserted a pattern screamers reference in at the end. It comes entirely out of nowhere. The bits are good, but they don't all quite work together.

The portal was an experiment by an ex-foundation researcher, who was experimenting with international transport, and attempting communication with the other side, when something went wrong, and he left the foundation and joined the chaos insurgency. ​The foundation took note of this and hunted him down as a threat, taking down the group he was a part of, but the Chaos insurgency, didn't take kindly to his and bombed the GOC and SCP vehicles, presumably not knowing that the device was inside of a foundation vehicle, the device then opened a one way gateway for the entities to cross into our reality, they could get in (I assume they had a portal to get in) but the foundation cannot enter because the atmosphere spontaneously replaces with another atmosphere, the entities and foundation fought for a while, in the background of all this the pattern screamers mess with documents a whole bunch, eventually figuring out how to crash computers, probably deletes some important stuff related to the original creator of the transporter. And eventually desides to threaten the foundation by blowing up every explosive within the area, causing the anomalies to leave and never return. @@hircenedaelen

Im confused about your comment maybe relisten/reread the entry. This was a clash between the SCP and chaos insurgacy that ended up causing of portal of entities to invade us. Such interdimentional mischief would be prime opportunity for the Pattern Screamers to send one of their most detailed message yet to everyone that can hear them, but for obvious reasons the Foundation keeping this hidden and wiping the minds of the people that did get the message will just piss them off even more hence why their message was so threatening. Its a little bit of everything sprinkled into one I recommend if you aren't wanting overall lore to listen to literal most of any of these videos because there are quite literally 100s to 1000s of them, the No Vacancy one being my favorite so far.

That's quite a title for this skip, but it fits. The Foundation and the 2173-1 forces in a long stand off with one another...and then the Pattern Screamers decide to get involved and the -1's just GTFO and are like 'You're on your own now. Have fun!' Also, the Pattern Screamers in general are yet another of those threats looming that could end the world. Reduced to nothing in the past, but they still scream their patterns into every manner of communication they can find, but you can't see those patterns unless you're specifically trained to look for them.
